It does take a bit of getting used to, but breathes life back into your old rack gear. My D550 has never been happier, and the JV1080 sounds amazing! The only reason it’s not a 5* review is I have some ongoing troubles getting the TX802 running - but have had very little time to try to resolve. I’m sure it’s me, as when the other editors are set up, it’s a great bit of kit. For pricing, I think £30 is fair, considering the power of this thing, and compared to the price of a second hand knob programmer for each synth! I own 13 of the synths it targets and every one of them works brilliantly. It’s greatest feature is the ability to load Sysex files. I have thousands of DX7/D50/TX81z etc patches from years of programming and internet surfing and they are all now stored in PatchBase. I don’t even touch the devices anymore other than to turn them on. Nor do I worry about changing backup batteries. I just use PatchBase as my librarian and send the patches to the units and then edit as I please without touching the front interfaces of the synths. To the developer...thank you!!! Your’e doing a brilliant job and I am one satisfied customer. I would have happily paid twice as much for this. Keep up the great work. ### 5/5 — Deepmind 12 user here *2021-12-20, version 3.22* Bummed for over a year that Behringer no longer updates their app for their debut synth and that it no longer works on devices past iOS 13. Thankfully, I still have a functional iPad2 and just acquired an iPad3 for back-up that the abandoned Behringer app still works on. However, Patch Base’s editor and librarian does it better and is super stable on newer iPads. I’ve only spent one evening with it, but am very pleased so far. While the nifty patch blend function of the manufacturer’s original app is absent here, the rest of the interface is pleasing to use and has a logical layout. The parameters respond to the touchscreen with smooth and confident precision. Other developers should take lessons from this one. Hands-on control of the control sequencer in the app is FAR superior to futzing around with menu diving and button pushing on the synth. I’ve not yet done much with the librarian, but seems very handy to be able to drag-and-drop patches into a desired order per bank then transmit that to the synth. This function might easily prepare set lists, enhancing the gig-ability of the synth. One little nitpick: the app does not recognize or respond to parameter changes made on the synth. However this might be useful in a live situation where one might tweak a patch with the app, then make further hardware modifications to completely whack-out the sound, then instantly bring it back to the previously app-tweaked state with the transmit button on the app. Nice function. Perhaps another shortfall: a change made on the app causes the synth’s parameter to instantly jump to app’s setting. I prefer the “pass-through” option on the hardware. Overall, it is so nice to have an iOS programmer for this synth again. Yes, the app might be a tad expensive, buying a programmer for each of these synths, but it works extremely well and the coding is top-notch pro level. Well worth the cost to those that want enhanced programming tools for their synths. A little more experimenting with the Deepmind12, and I might jump on the MS2000r to ease that one’s menu dives as well. Subscription option is handy, too if borrowing a synth or two for a project that may only be available for a couple of months. I can’t pay fixed amount by device… My studio is too big ;( But i’m willing to pay fix amount (around $150) to unlock all devices, complete app unlock? … for next 3x iOS version! Open PatchBase / SysexBase to another cloud service. iCloud it’s good, but dropbox, googledrive etc. will be nice too. ### 5/5 — An Excellent App for Unlocking the Power of Your Synths. *2021-07-05, version 3.17* A really great product.I don’t write many reviews - but felt the need to write this one, because Patch Base was exactly what I was looking for when I wanted to edit patches on my Korg Volca FM. I now also use it for my Yamaha FB-01 and Roland D-110 - it’s an integral part of my workflow. Seriously. *2023-09-06, version 3.26.2* Bought this to give a more accessible patch creation/programming environment for my Yamaha Reface DX. What a incredible resource. Every parameter is there. Logically and intuitively laid out. Nice graphs for envelopes (including pitch). This beauty can read the patches from working memory (including those loaded from system and soundmondo) as well as the full bank of presets. The former great for tweaking existing sounds and saving them the latter for a full backup and restore of your presets. I can’t say enough how this has unlocked my machine, it has increased the pleasure of sound shaping beyond comprehension. I was initially put off by the price but went for it. Bought the permanent purchase of the reface module. Well worth it. Worth double maybe more. Actually. The developer is responsive and helpful. There are learning resources in the help section of the website. I strongly advise reading the working with patches/banks sections and watch the short and very clear videos. After those you will be flying. Get this. Enjoy. Take your sound shaping and production to the next level. Cheers John. ### 5/5 — Awesome app *2023-08-25* I absolutely love this app for my blofeld and my mopho. I use it basically for random patch generation. It gets sounds out of the mopho that you would never be able to get if programming it yourself. It can latch the arp and the sequencer at the same time. Amazing. Now if you guys could build a version for the Korg Wavestate that would be truly amazing. Hopefully sometime in the near future. 😊 ### 5/5 — Negative reviews are biased for Apps price *2023-08-12, version 3.26.2* If you take the time to read all the negative reviews on this app they are based solely on the app price, not on the functionality of the app. Works just fine, developer is constantly updating to squash bugs and adding new synths. My only gripe is the UI can sometimes feel a little clunky. ### 5/5 — Best synth programmer on ipad hands down. *2023-05-25, version 3.26.2* Probably the best app for programming your synths on iPadOS. You do have to know what you’re doing of course. Works amazingly with MIDI and network MIDI too. ### 5/5 — Update: JD-Xi fixed *2022-10-27, version 3.25.3* Had been using this app with my Roland jd-xi for quite a while and it functioned very well. Recently they updated the app and I unfortunately tried the update. It’s Terrible. Constant hangs and crashes, I’m unable to edit patches properly because of how often the app crashes. It most often crashes when transitioning from one page to another, which sadly you must do frequently due to the new version having changed the workflow. Update: Spoke to the developer and they updated the app, it no longer hangs or crashes and works as smoothly as before!
