## What is PatYap?

Talk your way into a language.

PatYap is a conversation partner you speak to out loud — like a friend, not a course. No lessons. No flashcards. No drills. You talk, it talks back, and the language starts to stick the way it actually does in real life: by using it.

SPEAK TO STAY IN THE MOMENT
Order a coffee. Catch up with an old friend. Ask the station attendant for the right platform before the train leaves. PatYap casts a character on the spot and you just respond, out loud, in the language you're learning. The conversation never stops — mistakes can't interrupt it.

FEEDBACK THAT ARRIVES AFTER THE MOMENT, NEVER DURING IT
Every word you say lands in a live, color-coded feed — green means solid, amber means close, with a gentle note on how to sharpen it. You see exactly where you stand without ever breaking the flow of the conversation.

ENGLISH IS PART OF THE CONVERSATION
Stuck? Just ask in English — "how do I say…?" — and you get an answer without stepping out of the scene. The language you speak is the mode: speak the target language to stay in character, speak English to reach the meta layer.

START ANY SCENE YOU CAN IMAGINE
Say it out loud: "put me in a ramen shop," "I'm checking into a hotel," "let's just chat." A character is cast instantly. Open-ended, never a fixed script.

WORDS RATED AS YOU USE THEM
No tests. Say a word well and it climbs — new → learning → understood → mastered — in your Words list. PatYap keeps a quiet model of how well you know each word and steers every conversation to your edge: reinforcing what you know, introducing what's next.
