The Gameplay

Gameplay is similar to old games like Maniac Mansion, Zac McKraken, Beneath A Steel Sky and Monkey Island, but the game has a unique interface that is optimized for touch. Unlike most other point-and-click adventures the player actually holds the current item in his hand.

The Graphics

All handcrafted pixel art.

The Music

All game music only uses original Commodore C64 SID chip sounds, but polyphonic and with professional effects. The main theme of the Paul Pixel game was composed by the Pixel Lover Orchestra and is called "They Want To Get Us". Other chiptune highlights are "The Awakening" by the underground duo Retro Arcade Boys and "The Giant Meteor" by 8-Bit Factory.

### 5/5 — Old School Point & Click

*2025-04-27*

I enjoyed this game, puzzles were solid and I enjoyed the humor. It had a cool retro feel to it. I recommend this game.

### 5/5 — This is a amazing game and I love it my number 1 favourite game

*2022-06-05*

This person is so talented and I would love if there was more games like this

### 5/5 — AWESOME

*2022-03-26*

TOTALLY AWESOME

### 5/5 — One of the best games I had experienced

*2021-12-22*

When I first played the game, it was great. Plus I loved the puzzles and what not, especially the end (no spoilers). All I wish is that this game get a sequel somehow.

### 3/5 — It was just okay…

*2021-11-18*

The cons:
-the dialogue is SLOW and repeats itself when you come back to the character later. God help you if you accidentally press in a character and have to repeat a whole dialogue again.
-the sound effects HURT YOUR EARS. The walking sound will drive you crazy, and the button pressing and elevator ding sound is like driving a nail into your brain. The music is shrill.

Pros:
-acceptable pixel art
-good story

So yeah, okay at your own risk. Is it worth $2? I mean, I guess?

### 3/5 — :-)

*2021-06-15*

•Knapp an 4 Sternen.
•Trotzdem empfehlenswert.

### 5/5 — Loved this!

*2020-10-01, version 2.7*

Wish there were more like this out there, not too difficult but challenging enough to keep you interested with a really great storyline. I liked the graphics, colours and music too. Well done on a great game!

### 4/5 — Onesta

*2020-07-18, version 2.7*

### 5/5 — Love it

*2019-10-09*

2 hours of 80s point and click adventure joy.

### 5/5 — Surprisingly good

*2019-08-01*

Great game, definitely worth the price.
