### 3/5 — Disappointed

*2024-01-29*

Definitely gorgeous. Stunning artwork. It's not a puzzle game like some, and is sometimes annoying when the fellow wouldn't go where you want him to. But if you take it as it is, it's satisfying to figure out what order to do things in to finally get him where he needs to be. And it's beautiful ro just take your time and look at the scenery.

However, I was really frustrated to get to the end and discover that it wasn't actually the end, but just stopped. Ch 2 seems to be nowhere in sight. I think I would have liked going back and replaying it, to see if I could get into places he bypassed the first time, but as it is, there doesn't seem much point in trying.

I guess I should have paid more attention to that "Chapter 2 out in 2021" notice and realized that probably meant it isn't coming out and saved myself a few bucks.

What it is is beautiful. What it isn't is finished.

### 3/5 — Pretty...

*2022-11-06, version 1.44*

Pretty, but really short. The second chapter hasn't come out still and i won't be buying it. I think it only took me a few hours to complete and if the second chapter was part of this game it probably would have been worth the price.

### 3/5 — Graphically stunning, but...

*2021-07-11, version 1.43*

... I do not like the game play mechanics.

At first glance I thought this to be similar to Monument Valley in game play. After all, it seems to move and flow like MV, but its not.

The character moves on his own, drawn towards the bell that you ring. While it is an interesting concept, and Im not basing my review on my erroneous interpretation of the game play, it is a frustrating game play.

Things happen within the game mechanics that seem to have no reason for happening. As an example in an early level, the move seems to be run in a direction, and switch on the lights in a sequence to get to the other side. Instead, I missed a light, the guy fell off, he hobbled off to a pad of sorts, was regenerated (?), ran up the stairs and then out of the level.

I felt that I wasnt playing a game, so much as I was watching the game play itself, which was my biggest contention. You ring bells, and the guy kinda runs towards it, and then you have to kind of lead him to the next point by ringing another bell.

As I stated, an interesting idea, but not my style. I would have preferred a bit more playing of the game, rather than guessing what to tap.

### 3/5 — Controls are not intuitive

*2020-10-07, version 1.41*

While the art was very beautiful to look at, the actual gameplay was very frustrating. The controls are not at all intuitive, so it just feels like I’m tapping on the screen until something accidentally happens. I don’t mind if the puzzles are challenging, but even figuring out how to maneuver the little man is frustrating.

### 4/5 — Issue with Cursor Control on Apple TV 4K

*2020-10-05, version 1.41*

Was thrilled to try this on new Apple TV 4K. Graphics look great. Sound is great, but, unable to go very far with Touch Pad control on remote. I have tuned the System speed down to Slow but am unable to move with enough precision to stay ahead of little man. The problem is purely manipulation. The Cursor ball just will not stop moving when it needs to. Really hoping this can be fixed as it ruins an otherwise great experience. I was hoping to share this with my wife, but she won’t have the patience for it. Best of luck.

### 3/5 — Not sure what is going on

*2020-02-27, version 1.41*

No tutorials, is right. You tap bells and turn lights on and off and watch the little guy run around. Still trying to figure out what is going on.

### 4/5 — Not always intuitive

*2018-08-27, version 1.40*

The game is beautiful and the backdrop have this nightmarish feel to them that is perfect. I don’t think it needs a backstory- it’s clearly someone’s Nightmare. I’m between 3 and 4 stars. It’s a bit repetitive but still engaging. I think it was worth the money. Some puzzles are clunky and it seems to work purely by accident. Once you get the hang of the fact that you have no control over the little dude, then come to terms with that - you will enjoy the game

### 3/5 — Beautiful, but boring

*2018-01-08, version 1.34*

Very beautiful scenery, but got pretty boring after about an hour of playing. Wish the challenges were more various and, as many people before me said, wish there was a back story. Not sure if i would want to finish it before deleting.

### 5/5 — Wonderful experience

*2017-10-10, version 1.1*

Wow. Before making any moves on each level I was drawn to first admire the artwork while getting lost in the music. Levels were challenging but not frustrating in any way. I guess the best way to describe this game is to call it a meditative journey. Here is a secret tip: Make sure you don’t have any distractions and listen with headphones or a great sound system. Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Looks like it will be great

*2017-10-04, version 1.1*

just installed it, graphics are cool and game play is instinctual. Will rerate after a week or so. I'll give it a prelim 5.

### 5/5 — I'm pretty early in so that's all I got right now.

*2017-09-11, version 1.1*

But it won't stop asking me to write a review and I just want to get to playing more so I guess that's a good sign.

I think the puzzles are clever and the artwork is superb.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Gorgeous but not worth the effort

*2020-04-16, version 1.41*

The game is stunningly beautiful but not worth the effort. Controls are terrible, making timed puzzles nearly impossible. Sometimes the little guy does what he’s supposed to do and sometimes he just runs around aimlessly. Really wanted to like this game but it’s all frustration and no fun. Deleted, waste of money.

### 1/5 — Dumb

*2019-03-15, version 1.41*

Total waste of money, you have no clue what your goal is, you turn on lights or turn them off. You collect keys and such to get this guy through a gate. He’s just running through this what looks like a maze type thing. I want a refund , just so pointless and I’ve only played for five minutes.

### 1/5 — Stops saving progress

*2019-01-23, version 1.41*

The game stopped saving my progress after the guy jumps in the water and swims to the girl. Also, after it takes you back to their house and all the lights are messed up, the game just ends. After the guy goes back into their bedroom, absolutely nothing happens. This is either a glitch or just a really dumb way to end the game.

### 1/5 — Pavilion freezes when pocket watch gets key

*2019-01-15, version 1.41*

Early on, after I obtained the red key that fits into the red pocket watch I found earlier, the game freezes. From an online walkthrough I have seen that the key is supposed to turn, this opening the watch case. The music continues, but no amount of tapping can get the key to tournament. Can anyone give me any help?

### 1/5 — Boring, frustrating, no joy in solving

*2018-11-10, version 1.40*

Puzzle games are tricky to design, many factors must be right to create a challenging experience, which is enjoyable to earn how to solve and gives satisfaction when solved. This is a nice design, which fails in all respects. The concept has potential but its result is boring and frustrating and gives no joy when each level is solved. I rarely write a negative review, but in this case I'm confident that you'll find better games elsewhere. Sorry designers, i bet a rewrite within the world you've created can succeed.

### 2/5 — Unplayable on a phone

*2019-11-28, version 1.41*

The details are too small to see and interact with on a phone screen. Also, for some reason the sound stopped working too.

### 2/5 — Graphics are cool but....

*2018-05-10, version 1.40*

Yes the graphics are cool, however, if you are looking for games like the Room, or DaVinci, this is not your next game fix. This dude runs around, while you ring bells, shut on and off lights, then he runs some more. Not what I had in mind. Not my kinda game, but the graphics are cool. It’s a waste of money for me,

### 2/5 — Not a casual puzzle game

*2018-02-08, version 1.34*

While the art direction is superb, and the ambient equally stunning, I found much to dislike about the game’s core mechanic. At multiple points the character ran around a clearly open path as a blind rat would just because I was expected to ring bells and illuminate lights at precise moments. If you have the patience, and time, to learn its obtuse methods, you may find much to enjoy. If, however, you are looking for a casual experience the likes of “Gorogoa,” “The Room” series, or even “Lara Croft GO” / “Hitman GO,” stay clear of this game.

### 2/5 — Beautiful and weird, but short lived.

*2018-01-08, version 1.34*

I really thought this game was going to last me more than a few months but it only took me a week to go through Chapter 1. And with no sign of a Chapter 2, I feel a little cheated on paying for this app (recommended by the App Store too). It’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️beautiful layout and graphics, and you have zero clue what any story is on this so you kinda have to think of it like a weird foreign film where you don’t speak the language but kinda know what’s going on, vaguely. But I thought the game had more levels than it did, so that’s why it only gets ⭐️⭐️.

### 2/5 — Beautiful and stupid

*2017-04-07, version 1.1*

The world of this game is gorgeous and mesmerizing. The gameplay is maddeningly illogical, though. It truly defies logic. I spent most of my time tapping at random to see if the player would react to the object. The gameplay goes far beyond counterintuitive, it's asinine.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Game crashed

*2021-12-16, version 1.44*

Hello -

I rated it 5 stars because it is so beautiful and contains challenging puzzles. I enjoyed playing the game.

The issue is that it crashed in a scene where the guy meets a woman and the rose shows up. After pieces of the rose comes off and the arch then breaks down, the game crashed and I ended up doing it over again. Can you fix the crash bug issue?

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for the review! What device and what iOS version are you using? Will look into what the crash could be. (feel free to contact us directly at henrik@visiontrick.com)

### 5/5 — Great game

*2020-01-18, version 1.41*

Anyone who reviewed one star due to not know what to do is just retarded I’m sorry but nah this game is great people are just stupid.

### 5/5 — Love it please make another

*2019-06-25, version 1.41*

Hey guys it’s not optimized on the 10.5 like it does the 9.7 but the game is a masterpiece and the art is amazing

### 5/5 — Beautiful Game, Fun Puzzles

*2019-03-04, version 1.41*

Beautiful art, almost as beautiful as The Room. Whimsical similar to Monument Valley. However, the ending is a bit of a let down. Especially with no chapter 2 in sight. I enjoyed playing and will, most likely, replay at some point.

### 5/5 — Compelling and Magical

*2019-01-29, version 1.41*

I’m no gamer, but I love a good puzzle. Pavilion lures you in and keeps you engaged without punishing you for mistakes. The trial-and-error is part of the fun. Beautiful graphics to get lost in, and a fairly minimalist skill set will get you through the levels. Challenging and engaging fun.

### 5/5 — Totally frustratingly good

*2018-11-01, version 1.40*

Different. This is a running puzzle game where you can't control the character, just his environment. It's fun, then hard, then fun, then hard ... and then I have to stop playing for a while, though
I always come back to it. If you like a challenge, this is the game. It's beautiful, and imaginitive and never dull. Part of the fun is the lack of instructions; it requires you to figure it out as you go along.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2018-09-25, version 1.40*

After playing scores of adventure games; I’ve finally found one that is absolute perfection. Can’t wait for chapter 2.

### 5/5 — Excellent game that was difficult to get into, but very rewarding.

*2018-05-07, version 1.34*

I put it away for a while, the first few times I tried to go very far. There are no instructions, so it can get frustrating at first. But now that it’s gotten a bit easier to solve the puzzles, I can appreciate how gorgeous the game is. The graphics are truly amazing. It’s a lot of fun, and a lovely game altogether.
Thank you..

### 5/5 — Brain works

*2018-03-05, version 1.34*

If you want to exercise your brain, get this superb game! I loved it! Fantastic job developers!

### 5/5 — Great Puzzle Game

*2017-11-02, version 1.33*

Thanks for adding iCloud syncing. I love being able to play on my iPad and having the option to pickup and play on my phone when I don’t have my iPad. Works great, thanks for the fun brain teaser.
