Constantly giving a message storage is full. Last time that happened an update for the firmware fixed it. But this time it’s fully updated and not logging any information. Can’t even turn it off or control it through the app. Best to get the fountain and ignore the app. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t connect *2023-12-31, version 2.1.6* I bought two of these for the app features and I can’t get either of them to connect. Such a waste of money. Should of just bought the cheaper version if I known the app is complete trash. It loses connection to internet frequently. (It is sitting beside a feeder that connects and stays connected even after power failures happen.) loses data history every time it disconnects. My cat is getting used to it, but seems to like it so far. No problem with the height of the fountain. Major scam. ### 1/5 — Awesome fountain but app falls short *2023-11-06, version 2.1.4* 11/6/23: Got a replacement unit from Pawaii because our first one decided to stop connecting to WiFi. Although I’m having issues with the new unit connecting to wifi and so I can’t even add this new one into the app which leads me to think that the old one was perfectly fine and it’s the app controlling the “smart” features. Too bad the company isn’t investing in fixing the app because I still think it’s great that it can track of your pets are drinking enough water. My only recourse is to set reminders on my iPhone when the filter needs to be changed and when I need to clean the unit and put more water in. I wish I can take the 1 star back because it at not deserving of it. 7/6/23 Update: And…the app somehow decided 2 days ago to stop tracking how much water our cats drink. Very frustrating especially after I reinstalled everything and it was working fine. I guess 2 weeks is the magical number until water intake stops. I’m just glad the countdowns for filter cleaning and next cleaning are still working. 7/3/23 Update: I am changing my rating and review of this pet water fountain after i decided to try a second time to reinstall the app a day after I wrote my original review. I completely deleted the fountain from the app and deleted the app as well. It took me about 3 times doing the whole process (including the initial set up) but somehow it worked. It’s been 2 weeks since I did this and the fountain and app has worked perfectly. It has kept track of how many times our cats have drank and how much. The countdown for both filter and weekly cleaning is working as expected even notifications are working. I wish I could give it 5 stars but I hope the developers can figure out a way to track multiple cats. We have 2 cats and right now it just keeps a running total which I don’t mind but if the app is going to have me put in my cats’ name then we should be able to distinguish between both cats. I usually don’t provide reviews this early but when you get a great product but the app isn’t on par well… We’ve had the pet smart water fountain for about a week now and it’s great. We love that it doesn’t use up power all the time to dispense water to our 2 cats and that we are given the option to leave it plugged in or not (rechargeable battery). It’s super quiet when it’s running and the base is weighted that the water tank sits securely on it. The app though is another story. We were excited that it can provide how much water our cats drink a day. I haven’t figured out if it can differentiate between the 2 cats even though I’ve entered their information in the app but we were still happy that it told us a total for each day. Then it just stopped doing that after 3 days and I have deleted & re-installed it and nothing has fixed the issue. Xfinity pushes customers to upgrade to a faster 5G modem/router, but this app only works on a 4G network. Someone on their product development team needs to update their app so it pairs easier. Or, they need to invest some money in paying for a product upgrade. I had it right next to the modem and it still couldn’t find the network. You have to put the fountain somewhere with lots of traffic because the motion sensor is the only way the water circulates. I like the fact that it has a filter and automatically flushes the water periodically to keep what is available to be drunk nice and clean. Unfortunately, the app is essentially useless. While it does often give me a warning for low water level, it fails to reset the filter timer when ice replace the filter and tell the app to reset the timer. Additionally, it does not appear that the volume of water, drunk and number of times per day appears accurate. The app functions, does what it’s supposed to, but it does need some work. I wish I could use it without requiring location sharing but unfortunately it wouldn’t let me do anything or set up the fountain without my location. It also needs better English language support. This app feels like a rough draft. Location sharing requirement and the rough-draft feel of this app does not inspire any feelings of security when it comes to my data privacy. Which also makes me wonder how vulnerable my network is since I have their device connected to my Wi-Fi network. ### 2/5 — FIX *2025-04-05, version 2.1.7* The app worked fine at the start when I first got this like more than a year ago connecting to the wifi with it it dident stay I would every now and then reconnect. Now I can’t monitor my cat drinking like I used to. ### 2/5 — Too many bugs *2023-12-19, version 2.1.5* This app keeps crashing and won’t let me sign in. I’ve deleted and redownloaded but it still does not work. ### 2/5 — Good fountain, terrible app *2023-10-24, version 2.0.4* I’ve tested around 20 water fountains for our Maine Coon cats. All of them except the PAWAii made maddening trickling noise in our bedroom. If you don’t care about the bubbling noise (some probably like it, to us it’s like water torture), there are several other cheaper fountains that will work. So the first star on this rating is for quiet operation. The next star is for ease of cleaning, this fountain is easy and fast to clean as there are few parts. Two no stars are for expensive to buy and expensive filters, the third no star is for the awful, clearly poorly translated, malfunctioning iOS app. I could only get one of two bubblers to connect to it, and the data is useless. And the empty water alert doesn’t work. That said we still use these fountains for the quiet operation and easy fast cleaning. ### 2/5 — Needs Work *2023-04-28, version 1.1.1* I’ve had my eye on this water fountain since it was in development stage. The app needs serious work. It was difficult to connect the app to the fountain. It constantly falls “offline” so it’s not collecting data. Also the time data is in accurate since it’s not on my time zone and there is no where in the setting to adjust that. I hope it gets better with updates. I’ve wanted this fountain for the UV light disinfectant and filter.
