## What is PawMesh?

Track your dogs off-grid over LoRa mesh radio — no cell service required.

PawMesh connects to your LoRa mesh radio via Bluetooth and shows real-time GPS positions for up to 3 dogs on a USGS topographic map. Built for hunters, hikers, and anyone who lets their dogs run in the backcountry where cellular coverage doesn't exist.

No separate setup app needed. PawMesh handles all device configuration right in the app — pair your companion radio, set up each dog tracker, configure encrypted channels, and manage firmware settings. Just power on your radios and follow the guided setup.

How it works
Attach a small GPS tracker node to your dog's collar. Carry a companion radio (such as a Heltec V3) paired to your iPhone via Bluetooth. Open PawMesh, follow the setup wizard, and you're ready. Trackers broadcast GPS positions over LoRa every 2 minutes — several miles of range, even in dense terrain, with mesh hops extending it further.

Requirements
• iPhone running iOS 17 or later
• A LoRa radio running the open-source Meshtastic® firmware as a companion node
• One or more GPS-capable tracker nodes (also running stock Meshtastic® firmware)

• Draw a circular fence anywhere on the map (50 ft to 1.2 miles, in 16 ft / 5 m steps) and get a push notification the moment a dog steps outside it.
• Tap an alert to jump straight to the dog's last known location on the map.
• Choose whether each fence applies to every dog or just specific ones.
• Active fences are drawn on the main map so you always know where the boundary is.
• Background reliability: the app now stays receptive to Bluetooth wake-ups even when suspended, so off-leash alerts arrive promptly.
