Pawshake forgot that Dog Sitters are not Pawshake's employees but are in an equal partnership. Pawshake is not a great communicator when communicating with Dog Sitters, they treat Dog Sitters as slaves with harsh and unthoughtful messages. They never send thank you to Dog Sitters. Without Dog Sitters, Pawshake would have no business. In addition, you will never know where are the customer service agents are located. They will not tell you. Not a great start. Push notifications don't work which is disappointing, despite uninstall and reinstall (in the help section, this is suggested as a solution). I am using IOS, latest app version. This has been broken for a long while, can the developer please fix it permanently? I have been using the app for many years, this is really key functionality. Updating calendar on app is super glitchy too. selecting multiple days and update just doesn't work properly. There's a question in the sitter profile to specify yard size. Why can't I apply the same specific filter when looking for a sitter? This would be SUPER useful, to filter to only those sitters with a large yard! I think this feature would be really helpful ### 1/5 — Awful AI *2026-08-05, version 4.7.1* Genuinely the most horrific and invasive ai system that reviews your photos, profile picture and bio and takes out your individuality to make a sanitised complacent and corporate friendly slop profile. This app is not what it used to be and I do not recommend using it anymore. ### 1/5 — Just a money seeker *2026-08-05, version 4.7.1* I have been a 5 star rated pet sitter with over 50 clients base. When I dealt with an issue with Pawshake, they just deactivated my account for no reason , despite I have bookings that happened very soon. Don’t use this scam platform they don’t do any anything but just take owner and sitter’s money ### 1/5 — Glitching *2026-08-04, version 4.7.1* I installed it wanting to become a pet sister, it was extremely glitching from the start. When I wanted to put my details (name etc) my keyboard wasn’t showing up at all and I’ve left the app couple times thinking it’s just a one time thing. I put email and password and when I clicked continue, it kept showing me 4 times to put email and password again and started glitching. ### 1/5 — Dog sitter had a psychotic break, ruined our vacation, and Pawshake kept their profile online *2026-08-03, version 4.7.0* In theory this is a great app. In practice, our second ever sitter ended up having a psychotic break, sending over 400 extremely vile racist, homophobic and generally insane texts in the span of an evening. She wouldn’t stop and wouldn’t show us a picture of our dog to show she was ok, and started talking about human sacrifice, so We had to organize an emergency pick up at midnight in the middle of our vacation. Needless to say it ruined our trip. We reported the profile and Pawshake suspended it briefly. But less than a month later we went back on the app and saw the exact same profile was active again. What’s worse, they wouldn’t let us leave a review to warn others, and didn’t even respond when we emailed them to complain. There are plenty of great dog sitters on Pawshake. But there are also racist, mentally unstable people that the app knowingly allows to watch your pets. So my best advice is be careful. ### 1/5 — À fuir *2026-07-16, version 4.7.0* Malgré de (très) nombreuses tentatives, impossible de créer mon profil de pet sitteuse malgré de nombreuses tentatives. La raison ? pas de photos assez belles pour cette application : -la photo de profil n’est jamais assez bien: visage trop sur le côté, luminosité pas assez belle… -les photos sur le profil, tout pareil… Je pensais pas qu’il fallait un bac +10 en photographie pour faire du pet sitting, et bien pawshake m’a démontré le contraire. I started a messsge conversation with a potential walker, we agreed dates but then my circumstances shifted and I changed the date. Before I could enter the booking (I work and had to stop) I started to receive ‘friendly reminder’ emails which weren’t really that friendly! I’ve booked the walking service to try it out but I’m unimpressed and will be going elsewhere if your appalling approach to attract animal lovers to use the app continues. Really NOT ok 🤬 ### 1/5 — Awful customer care *2026-05-05, version 4.6.1* I didn’t get paid for my sit ### 1/5 — The worst. *2026-04-21, version 4.6.0* I decided to use Pawshake because I genuinely love dogs and enjoy looking after them. I’ve had many bookings through the platform and consistently received 5 star reviews. My account was suddenly deactivated after a situation where a pet owner urgently needed care for her dog but was having trouble making payment through the app. I’ve heard from multiple clients that payment issues on the platform are not uncommon. Because it was only for one night and the dog needed care, I suggested a bank transfer as a temporary solution. The booking never went through, and no transaction actually took place. I explained all of this to Pawshake and even offered to provide proof from my bank statements. Instead of looking into it properly, they dismissed my explanation and treated me as if I was being dishonest. Their responses were rude, and the situation was handled very poorly. What’s most frustrating is that after saying they would escalate it to their trust and safety team, they completely stopped responding. I followed up multiple times and received no reply. If they’re going to deactivate someone’s account, the least they can do is communicate clearly and close things off properly. I’ve always respected their policies. If I didn’t, I could have easily taken repeat clients off the platform, but I didn’t. I continued to book everything through Pawshake despite the high fees they take.
