Live customer service workers are like robots with bad understanding all around. I’ve been having troubles with this app for over a week now and I keep receiving the same message to do the same thing over and over and still no fix. They are quick to tell you they are working on the problem but they never get it fixed within the time they give you. Still haven’t had any communication back and I have sent over 40 emails and phone calls. ### 4/5 — Easy *2026-08-23, version 2.2.8* It was pretty easy setting up account. The only thing that bothers me is that there’s never a specific time frame for when your available balance updates. It’ll be as soon as 10 in the morning or as late as two in the afternoon. My hours worked are showing up, however PayActiv is not clearing my EWA deductions when my new pay period has already started. I’ve contacting support on this issue, but keep getting the run around and case numbers. Each time I was told that it was escalated, and then I never heard any more information and the ticket was closed. It came to the point where it was no longer something I could rely on, and I had to discontinue using it because of the lack of customer care. It's hard to get a rep to solve your problem without seeming like a bother. There's no way to update the app without calling and being redirected. 5 I felt unheard after confiding in Jacob D about missing hours and asking to be transferred. Particularly after explaining I was out of town and really needed Pay Activ until payday. I received only an automated response with no personalization or concern. This situation alone would prevent me from recommending this app!! ### 1/5 — Nope *2026-08-24, version 2.2.8* Had I submitted this review a week or so ago I would’ve given it five stars. It came in good in a pinch and has been helpful in the past. However, apparently out of nowhere the company decided to change the way they calculate money that can be borrowed from your paycheck. And they give no notice to let the customer know that that is something that’s going to be changing. So whereas my income hasn’t decreased, and my hours hasn’t decreased, I went and logged in this morning and my available to borrow is only $20 now which is significantly less than I’ve always been able to. I can’t understand the reasoning for changing this because it comes from my payroll company so it automatically gets paid to them. There’s never been an instance where they weren’t paid. Payactiv temporarily locked my account and I have been calling them for over a week. The customer service or team does not care the system been down for over a week and we still haven’t gottn any access to our earnings. They keep saying the team is working on it it’s a national issue but they want put it on the website they just don’t care. I have send my drivers license and email and everything they need to verify me and they still haven’t fixed it. It’s the worse advance pay company I have ever encountered. The rain app would never do this. I had to miss work because I have no access to my earning to get gas. If I could give it zero stars I would. I hate that my job uses this app. It’s been over a week with no access.
