## What is Payday Expense Stack?

Take control of your personal finances with Payday Expense Stack, a tracking utility designed to align your expenses directly with your active pay periods. Built natively using SwiftData with support for automatic iCloud sync, This app allows you to manually manage a comprehensive library of recurring master expenses—complete with custom categories, due dates, annual fees, and notes. Easily organize your budget by active pay periods to monitor starting balances, current bank balances, and the actual available funds remaining after unpaid bills clear. Track exactly how each bill is covered by registering your own payment methods (such as checking accounts, credit cards, or loans), and monitor your payoff progress with dedicated debt tracking linked directly to your main expenses.

### 1.4.4 — 2026-07-07

In this update, we’ve replaced the continuous expense percentage slider with a set of quick-preset buttons (10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) to greatly improve your manual input experience. Previously, the slider's auto-clamping mechanism would work against the data entry by constantly overriding and reformatting the text field as you were typing custom amounts. Now, you can type custom values completely uninterrupted, while a new visual warning border highlights if your input exceeds the total bill amount and disables the save action until corrected. 

We’ve added the ability to save payment confirmation numbers directly to your pay period expenses.

### 1.4.3 — 2026-06-27

You can now choose to start any new pay period with all expense amounts set to zero, making it effortless to plan a custom budget from scratch. By default, the app will continue to carry over your original amounts, giving you the best of both worlds depending on how you want to plan your expenses.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-06-18

In this update, we’ve added two highly great features! You can now secure your financial data with an optional 4-digit PIN lock (which automatically blurs the app screen when multitasking) directly from the Settings tab. We’ve also added a handy built-in calculator right on your "My Pay Period" dashboard so you can quickly crunch numbers on the fly. As always, thank you for using ExpenseStack!

### 1.4.1 — 2026-06-11

In this update, we’ve focused on making expense tracking even smoother and more intuitive! We’ve introduced a new floating "+" button on the pay period dashboard, allowing you to quickly add expenses at any time without needing to scroll through your lists. We've also fine-tuned the navigation bar layout for easier access to your settings, and we squashed a minor visual bug where a duplicate warning message would briefly flash when successfully saving a new expense.
