### 1/5 — Poor people who work for the government to survive

*2026-02-04, version 2.03.9*

Just paid these parasites

### 1/5 — Don’t use

*2026-01-29, version 2.03.9*

I tried paying my ticket twice and it said the card was invalid. Don’t waste your time. Go to the city website instead

### 1/5 — The worst payment app I’ve ever used

*2025-11-02, version 2.03.9*

UI is terrible, and keeps displaying authorization errors

### 1/5 — Just pay by web

*2025-10-26, version 2.03.9*

It’s my own fault I thought it would make sense to download this. Scanning QR code doesn’t even work. Couldn’t even make it past the first step.

### 1/5 — Has this been updated since 2010???

*2025-09-28, version 2.03.9*

UI literally looks like it was developed for a 3rd gen iPhone. Not accessible and poor interaction design. Took four tries for it to find my ticket number. Really should be able to look up by license plate and save your vehicles. A 4th grader could’ve coded a better application.

### 1/5 — Wow

*2025-09-16, version 2.03.9*

This is what a cheap app would run/look like in 1999 if we used phone apps in 1999. Another company scamming cities.

### 1/5 — Who made this app has to clean up the streets. Surely they can do it better

*2025-09-02, version 2.03.9*

Why the app can’t save my personal information? Why I have to fill it again and again? Why I can’t see my card number to make sure that everything is correct? For what you charge fee 8% from transaction? It supposed to be for free. Computer processing all this transactions. Not human.

### 1/5 — Awful App

*2025-08-09, version 2.03.9*

Everything about the user experience with this app is atrocious, &5 would've been easier to go pick up a check and mail in the ticket than to use this worthless app.

### 1/5 — The problem with modern tech

*2025-08-08, version 2.03.9*

Thank you for making it so easy to pay my overpriced ticket. I just wish the app was snappier so I could watch my money disappear faster. Where is the app that makes it easy for me to contest my ticket? I guess that one is still in “development”. Well at least USPS is pretty quick nowadays trying to compete with amazon’s same day deliveries.

### 2/5 — No Confirmation of Payment or Security

*2025-08-05, version 2.03.9*

After using this app to pay a parking ticket, I received no confirmation to prove that I did, if needed. Also, I trust that paying with this app is secure because it is listed on my parking violation notice, but there is no statement of this on the app, itself.

### 1/5 — What a scam.

*2025-08-01, version 2.03.9*

How are you going to charge a service fee for a free app on top of having to pay the ticket?
Really convenient that the la-city payment site goes down so often and directs you to get the PayTix app. Not to mention the app is trash. The buttons showing up in the middle of the screen, the UI being obsolete and worse, counterintuitive.

### 1/5 — Scammers

*2025-07-26, version 2.03.9*

Terrible app who extorts money from innocent people

### 1/5 — terrible charge system

*2025-07-07, version 2.03.9*

doesn’t charge properly, says authorization failed, yet get charged. company needs to hire some developers to fix this app, better off paying on the website.

### 1/5 — Cannot pay multiple tickets

*2025-07-07, version 2.03.9*

Online you can pay for more than one ticket.

### 1/5 — Rats

*2025-05-14, version 2.03.8*

Rats

### 1/5 — Takes advantage

*2025-05-10, version 2.03.8*

Charges additional money to use the app and it’s the same online

### 1/5 — Poor Functionality

*2025-05-08, version 2.03.8*

Doesn’t recognize cards that the website does & improperly scans tickets so that the citation number is completely false.

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2025-03-13, version 2.03.8*

How could you have such reliability on an application that is faulty.

### 1/5 — Terrible App- Do Not Use

*2025-03-03, version 2.03.8*

App does not work and will charge you while not paying your ticket

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs redesign and rebuild

*2026-06-09, version 2.04.0*

This app is terrible. There’s no excuse for it to be this ugly and buggy. I miss TicketZen! Do better.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-06-04, version 2.04.0*

Basically forcing u to download an app to pay a meter. G-a-y app.

### 1/5 — i wish i could give zero stars.

*2026-05-10, version 2.04.0*

booof ah !

how can i pay my tix ????!? this app trash 🚮🗑️

### 1/5 — Just use a website this is tiring

*2026-05-09, version 2.04.0*

Look at Title

### 1/5 — Truly Awful

*2026-05-05, version 2.04.0*

This app appears to have been developed using a cross-platform environment from long, long ago. Many of the text input boxes have to be filled in blind as the keyboard overlays the text box. The user interface does not fill the screen. There is no provision for the use of Apple Pay, which had been around for over a decade. To add insult to injury, I had to pay $2 for the privilege of using this amateur app.

### 1/5 — Salt in the wound

*2026-04-15, version 2.04.0*

Just awful top to bottom

### 1/5 — No customer service response

*2026-02-28, version 2.03.9*

I have been trying to contact them for over a week and no response. DO NOT USE THIS APP. It’s an unreliable way to pay.

### 1/5 — F this app

*2026-02-28, version 2.03.9*

Keeps taking my money

### 1/5 — Genuinely the worst app I’ve used

*2026-02-22, version 2.03.9*

If I’m going to enter my credit or debit card info into an app, there isn’t a much sketchier seeming app out there. Here are a few notable issues:
- Displays “error processing payment” even though payment is successful
- Searching the ticket by Violation # doesn’t always work
- Scanning and searching the barcode requires a series of presses of buttons and literally any developer in the last 10 years should be able to do this automatically
- I have no idea who actually keeps this app up and who now has my credit card info…it sure doesn’t seem government-run or very secure in any way
- Still uses the keyboard icons from much earlier Apple devices (circa 2012)
- Hasn’t seen any updates to core functionality in probably 8 years
- “Convenience fee” in 2026 for paying tickets online is the most asinine thing I’ve heard of, considering I am literally making less work for everyone by paying online (no human interaction required, payment comes directly from my card)… Online transactions should be fee-free at this point

Overall I just don’t understand the choice of this app as a legal way to pay tickets. Doesn’t seem legitimate at all, even though somehow many cities use is as the primary form of online ticket payment.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-02-15, version 2.03.9*

I have no experience creating apps but am sure a YouTube tutorial would help me build a better app than this. It’s $2 to pay by card. App doesn’t give a bank account option, doesn’t tell you if the transaction was denied, won’t let you pay multiple tickets at once. You can’t save your payment method. The barcode scanner does not work. You click “scan”, app does nothing

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great, and fast.

*2025-06-29, version 2.03.9*

I just paid my parking ticket from Los Angeles on a Sunday morning, and checked with the city’s online site about 10 min later, and the ticket was recorded as paid. Pretty impressive.

### 5/5 — The easiest way to paid

*2022-07-12*

### 5/5 — Well, it works

*2021-09-02*

Nobody likes paying tickets, me included. But at least there are some cities that let you use this app to do so. The interface is dated and all, but at least it's simple and it works. Got an email confirmation and called city hall to confirm I'm in the clear.

### 5/5 — Changed my mind about tickets

*2021-04-26*

Getting tickets used to make me angry but this app totally changed all that. I love paying my parking tickets now! Thanks PayTix!

### 5/5 — Fine App

*2020-10-29*

This app is fine. I mean you literally pay your fines on this app. The functionality is great. Never thought paying the city for a parking ticket could be so hip.

### 5/5 — Easy to use and make a payment.

*2020-06-27*

Self explanatory app. Paid my ticket with no issues. One you hit pay now it takes a few seconds-minutes to process. do not close app or go back even if it seems like it’s taking longer than what you would expect. I waited and once my payment was processed i received my receipt via email.

### 5/5 — Very Easy

*2019-04-30, version 2.03*

It was very easy to do. Took me 3 minutes from start to finish. Processed very quickly and had no hassle imputing my information. 👍🏽
