## What is PCM Audio Recorder?

Capture ideas, interviews, instruments, and field sound with control over the file you create.

PCM Recorder shows a live waveform and input level while recording, along with elapsed time and an estimate of the recording time remaining. Choose from the formats and sample rates supported by your current microphone and audio route.

• WAV, CAF, AIFF, and space-saving M4A output
• 16-bit, 24-bit, 32-bit integer, and 32-bit float PCM options where supported
• Mono or stereo recording based on the connected input
• Built-in, wired, USB, and Bluetooth microphone selection
• Microphone position, polar pattern, and hardware input gain controls when available

KEEP THE TAKE SAFE
• Background recording and a Live Activity for quick status checks
• Free-space monitoring while you record
• Safe stopping before storage or WAV container limits are reached

Recordings stay in the app's local storage unless you choose to share them. Rename and organize takes, share the original file, or access recordings from the Files app. No account is required.
