So easy. ### 4/5 — Excelente escolha *2013-04-20* I always get my credit card and cell phone accounts by e-mail in password protected PDF files. Once I download them, the password is more trouble then help, since everytime I need to access the file I have to remember the password using my password manager app (1Password). This application does what it tells in a simple and quick way. It's an excellent cost-benefit choice for those who just want to encode or decode PDF files, specilly when compared to more complex (and expensive!!!) tools. Congratulations for this nice app!!! One simple feature request: instead of having only one "default password" for encoding/decoding, the app could allow to save several commonly used passwords. So every time I wanted to decode one of my PDFs, I would only choose which password to use. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Update sucks *2026-07-21* The new update is very hard to comprehend and I feel is not user friendly. It worked the first few times I used it. Now it does nothing to restrict copying. It tells me that my documents have been locked successfully but when I check the files, or have friends check the files, the informaiton is not being restricted. I was hopeful that things would start working after the recent update. No such luck. Sorry to say it's not working for me, at least under Mojave 10.14.6 ### 1/5 — DOESN'T WORK! RETURN MY MONEY! *2019-01-25* The application DOESN'T WORK. Only 90% fron 100%. Let's take a closer look: 1. ''require password to open document'' - it's a working function, but you can do it on MAC - no need to by application for money. 2. ''require password to copy text, images or change content'' - DOESN'T WORK. 3. ''require password to print document'' - DOESN'T WORK, the password is not to be required, as a result you can print, but you get a clear sheet of paper!!! Interesting, but what should i do if a have the password??? 4. ''save as new file'' - DOESN'T WORK! so, the application DOESN'T WORK! RETUN MY MONEY BACK! ### 2/5 — Not what it's supposed to be *2020-11-04* I wanted to make a pdf that is non-editable (i.e., the content cannot be changed). I can set the password all right, and it does prevent printing, but in my PdfExpert editor I could still modfify the text without a password. So, doesn't do what it was supposed to. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work with Adobe *2018-01-09, version 1.3* The lock worked well with Preview but it was inexistent when the file was opened with Adobe Reader. ### 2/5 — Not as described *2012-11-10* The product does not perform as described. In the description, at the time that I purchased the app, it said that in addition to locking pdf files, it could also unlock them. The app does not unlock documents that are already locked. The app DOES do the rest of what it says, which is the reason for the extra star. It does lock them well. But I purchased the app specifically for the purpose of unlocking a locked PDF document, and no luck. Does not work. ### 3/5 — Keine Stapelverarbeitung *2020-04-08* Funktioniert einwandfrei. Endlich können mehrere PDF-Dateien auf einmal verarbeitet werden. Auch die Einführung von Profilen (mit jeweils unterschiedlichen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten) ist eine große und von mir dankend angenommene Arbeitserleichterung! Auf Verbesserungsvorschläge (256bit-Verschlüsselung und Einstellung eines Standard-Verzeichnisses) hat der Entwickler der App aufgeschlossen reagiert und diese sogar umgesetzt. Vielen Dank dafür! Auch ein gemeldeter Fehler wurde umgehend beseitigt! So macht die Benutzung einer App Spaß.
