## What is PDF Scanner AI?

Tired of PDF scans that come out blurry and gray? PDF Scanner AI has Sharpen Text — it makes photographed printed documents look typed, while keeping your real page: the background, colors, layout, and your signature.

It's also a full document scanner: scan to searchable PDF, run OCR, capture IDs and books, and compress, merge, or split PDFs right on your phone.

WHAT IS SHARPEN TEXT?
Point your camera at a printed letter, contract, receipt, or form. Sharpen Text erases the blurry printed ink and re-types it razor-sharp — in the original ink color — so the page still looks like your real document, but reads like it was typed. Your signature and handwriting are left untouched.
(Works best on clean printed documents.)

THREE WAYS TO RENDER YOUR PDF
• Keep Background — your original photo with an invisible, searchable text layer
• Remove Background — a clean white page with crisp typed text
• Sharpen Text — a Layout PDF mode: keep the real page, make the printed text typed-sharp

A FULL DOCUMENT SCANNER
• Automatic edge detection, auto-crop, and A4 straightening
• ID card scanner — front and back on a single page
• Book scanner
• QR code & barcode scanner

OPEN ANY PDF YOU ALREADY HAVE
Import a PDF from your phone or cloud, or open one straight from Gmail, Drive or your browser — then use every tool on it. Save any document to Downloads in one tap.

PDF TO WORD, LAYOUT INTACT
Convert a scan into an editable Word file (.docx) — real Word tables, heading sizes, bold and alignment carried over.

EDIT PDF TEXT WITHOUT RESCANNING
Open a Layout PDF, tap Edit text, reword a line — rebuilt in place, no rescan.

SMART SCAN — OCR IN 24 LANGUAGES
Turn a photo into text with AI-powered OCR in 24 languages — image to text, photo to text. Great for contracts, notes, and receipts.
(Smart Scan / OCR requires an internet connection.)

SEARCHABLE PDFs
Every Smart Scan becomes a searchable PDF — select, copy, and find any word in any PDF viewer.

PRIVATE, ON-DEVICE PDF TOOLS
Compress PDF files, merge PDFs into one, or split a PDF into pages — right on your phone, offline. No upload, no account. Your files never leave your device.

EXPORT ANYWHERE
Save and share as PDF, Word (DOCX), TXT, or image. Add your signature to any document.

PERFECT FOR
Contracts and agreements, receipts and expenses, tax and ID documents, homework and notes, and anything you need to scan, sign, and send fast.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 2.0.3 — 2026-09-15

• NEW — Translate scanned text into 24 languages, right from Text Recognition results or a Layout PDF.
• NEW — Left a scan unfinished? A progress card on your lock screen takes you right back to it.
• NEW — Open and import PDFs from your phone, Gmail, Drive or your browser.
• NEW — Convert a scan to Word (.docx), with tables, headings and alignment kept.
• NEW — Save any document to your Downloads folder in one tap.
• Edit PDF text right inside the viewer — one tap, no rescan.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-09

Fixes and improvements:

• Exporting a Text Recognition result to PDF or Word now works. Previously these exports failed with a server error — only TXT and Searchable PDF could be saved.
• Adding pages from your photo library on the Preview screen now responds correctly.
• Free plan now includes up to 5 pages per scan instead of 3. Need more? Watch one short ad to add 3 more pages, as many times as you like — nothing is blocked.
• Premium is no longer limited when adding pages.
• Large documents use far less memory, so building, compressing and merging long PDFs is more reliable.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-07-23
