Crashes on exporting the pdf. Not satisfied. ### 3/5 — Key flaw *2023-11-20, version 8.27* Good app but search is not good. 1) For example, you cant search phrases like “Barack Obama”. If you do it will find individual cases of each word separately rather than the phrase together. 2) It misses occurrences of words. For example if you “Marx”, the word “Marxism” will not be in the result even though “Marx” is in “Marxism”. 3) Misses some searched entirely. I have a document with certain words, I tried searching those word but this app did not detect it. ### 3/5 — Impressive with a couple bugs *2023-03-23, version 8.22* The core search here is excellent. There’s a couple of little issues I hope the developer considers fixing - the app will index hidden folders like .Trash in iCloud folders so you end up with results you don’t want. And unlike the macOS version, there isn’t a way to order the search results by filename. Finally the macOS version provides some sort of “sync code” to enable tighter integration with its iOS counterpart, but I can’t find any where in the iOS version to add that. ### 3/5 — Useful tool but buggy *2023-01-25, version 8.22* It’s like a personal google for your documents. I used it for school and now I use it at work. I point it at office documents and textbooks PDFs, and it gives me the results I need in one place. Unfortunately the app is faulty. Indexing will sometimes not pick up files after repeated troubleshooting attempts. Worse, pdf viewing is buggy and you will lose your view when scrolling to the next page. ### 3/5 — Very Good. I’m abandoning this app after trying to make it work and improve for almost two years. Edit: After using the app for more than a year, I have to knock off two stars for my rating. The app is very buggy and unstable. I’ve tried providing detailed feedbacks to the dev but none of the issues are fixed. It still crashes a lot for anything more than minimal work. Original: The new version now supports picking external directories. I’m syncing my Zotero library to GoodReader via Dropbox, while indexing all the PDFs in this app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — broken and no support *2026-05-06, version 8.31* this app used to be good, but now if you’re scrolling documents, it repeats pages and skips pages, and you can never see them. it jumps all over the place when you’re scrolling back and forth between pages. I can’t be confident in any of the search results anymore because sometimes the result is on a page that it just refuses to display. It just displays two of the same pages in a row, skipping the real next page altogether. it just shows the previous page twice in a row, and skipping the page with the actual result. App support is nonexistent. I’ve emailed numerous times and never even get a reply let alone an acknowledgement of problems. ### 1/5 — UPDATE IT PLEASE *2025-11-27, version 8.31* Useless. Manche manche der Dateien enthielten mehr als zehn Seiten. Es wurde jeder Fachbegriff, das als Schlagwort nach der Indexierung eingegeben wurde, wieder gefunden. Die Suche dauerte auf dem iPad mit M1 Prozessor. Circa 2-3 Sekunden. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. ### 5/5 — App Crash When It Downloads From Google Drive And Index *2024-06-21, version 8.31* The app is excellent overall, but I hope one annoying issue can be fixed. When I connect my Google Drive to the app, it downloads all of my PDFs and other documents and indexes them locally. I have a lot of files, and when it downloads and indexes them simultaneously, the app crashes constantly. It's really inconvenient having to reopen the app again and again. I hope this issue can be fixed soon. La trovo l’ideale per ritrovare i passaggi degli articoli che mi servono senza dover cercare come un disperato tra i vari abstract quello giusto. Generalmente il primo o il secondo risultato sono quello che sto cercando. Se funzionasse anche come reference manager e avesse pure una specie di riassunto per ogni articolo sarebbe l’app divina, ma visto che non lo fa sono costretto ad avere i vari pdf in cartelle diverse. ### 5/5 — Excellent! *2024-05-06, version 8.27* I hope the developers keep adding features because the app is amazing. I use it to search for PDF documents, such as books, and is very accurate. Specially I like the search across books series where I can just type a few words of an event or character I barely remember (from some books ago in a series) and will search and find the paragraphs with the key words typed. ### 5/5 — Une application incroyable *2023-09-09, version 8.24* La meilleure application pour indexer tous vos PDF avec OCR intégré qui permet de trouver tout ce que vous recherchez dans votre base grâce à sa fonction de recherche. Et tout ça sans abonnement ; un immense merci ### 5/5 — It does it says it does *2023-03-08* I had 118 PDF files that were scans of an old gazette. The website that they came from allowed you to search them but it picked up very little. I knew that the word that I was looking for should have showed up more often. Using the default settings in PDF Search found more matches than the website. I changed the search settings and reindexed and it found more. It is so easy and effective. I have used many Enterprise level indexing tools and even they take time to OCR etc. The time it took to index was better than I expected - especially as I was indexing on my iPhone. ### 5/5 — Pdf search *2022-12-23, version 8.22* A very good app . Works like a librarian. Good for students. But some pdf documents do not get indexed for unknown reasons. Stability of app has improved. There should be provision that while copying any sentence from documents in this app, the name of the corresponding documents along with the page number should automatically get copied. ### 5/5 — Funktioniert gut um Massen an PDFs zu durchsuchen *2022-03-18, version 8.13* Mit dem M1 Prozessor und pdfs direkt auf dem Ipad (nicht icloud) funktioniert der Suchprozess echt schnell und meiner Ansicht nach auch zuverlässig. Man darf nicht vergessen dass bei der OCR Texterkennung von manchen Dokumenten nicht immer das hinterlegt ist was man als Benutzer sieht. Dh da kann im Wort ein Leerzeichen sein und schon gibt es Schwierigkeiten genau diesen Begriff zu finden. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Womit das Programm nicht gut zurecht kommt ist mit PDFs die in der iCloud liegen. Diese Dateien sind wenn man sie nutzt im Gerätespeicher, werden aber irgendwann vom Betriebssystem wieder gelöscht um Speicher zu sparen. Ich nutze die App täglich für die Arbeit und bin sehr zufrieden! ### 5/5 — A Superb App for Research enthusiasts without equal *2021-04-26, version 8.3* I ran into problems with the app initially, as the issues were with my not knowing how to operate it correctly. The Excellent help from support team saved the day. I am now on a supersonic research speed. This app is the only one which could index search results with actual AI and index them and automatically rank them. The search results come super fast and handy. I would love to see an additional functionality of Boolean search as in devonthink. That would massacre the competition, if any.
