The interface is clunky and illogical and like so many apps, seems to have its on take on how the iOS file system works. I'll be asking for my money back. Such a shame as it seemed so promising. The actual compression is pretty good. ### 2/5 — App not launching on iOS 18.0.1 *2024-10-13* Dear developers, PDFOptim has stopped launching on iOS 18.0.1. The app simple freezes during launch and does not respond to any activity. Pls check and fix this issue. ### 5/5 — Great compression *2023-08-06* This does an amazing job in my early usage at reducing PDF size while preserving decent quality. Thanks! It’s a bit disappointing that it does not support iOS shortcuts, and that you need to buy another copy if you want to use it on macOS. That makes it a bit pricey for a single-purpose utility app. ### 5/5 — PDFOptim made my life simpler! *2023-08-06* I compose “how-to’s,” “tips ‘n tricks“ and recipes that I like to send & share with friends & family. These require photos & screenshots because ("A picture is worth a thousand words".) Invariably these documents run into trouble when I try to paste them into an email. Either the pictures are moved around, or the text gets scrambled about, or most often the file refuses to email because ‘it’s too big.” PDFOptim let’s me save my documents as PDF files that are 90%+ smaller than the raw documents. I’ve been able to email the small PDF documents as mail attachments without fail! Price was reasonable & it does the job I need. Takes a bit of time to get the hang of it, but easy after a few goes. ### 5/5 — THIS is the only one you need… *2023-05-22* Sadly, the App Store is riddled with an astonishing number of poor or scam PDF compression apps. PDF Optim is the only one which works properly and allows you to make all the fine adjustments to compression/quality you need. Die ganzen handschriftlichen Vektoren nehmen schnell Platz ein (ca 1MB/Seite). Mit PDF Optim kann ich einzelne Element-Typen wie Vektoren oder Grafiken individuell stark komprimieren. Damit lassen sich meine Textdokumente um durchschnittlich 50% reduzieren, ohne die Bildqualität von grafiken einzuschränken. ( Profil 300 100 5) Das ist doppelt so viel wie die meisten anderen Apps die ich getestet habe. Die App akzeptiert drag & drop sowie Dateiimporte, arbeitet in allen Bildschirmorientierungen, ist schnell, Offline, lässt OCR Text in Ruhe und exportiert unter dem ursprünglichen Dateinamen. Keine versteckten in-App Käufe oder Abos. Alles nicht selbstverständlich, wie ich feststellen musste. Wenn du in meiner Situation bist, hör auf zu suchen und zahl die läppischen 3,50€ Es kann kaum besser werden. Vielen Dank an die Entwickler. ### 5/5 — Seit Jahren mein one and only PDF-Verkleinerer Kein Abo! *2022-05-05* Noch immer fehlen den meisten Apps auf iPad (iPhone sowieso), trotz PC-Leistungsdaten der Hardware, wichtige Funktionen. Selbst im Jahr 2022 hat Pages von Apple PDF-Export nur ohne Größenreduktion. So hat ein einfacher Letter aufgrund eines einzigen Photos fette 11 MB. Das lässt sich mit dieser Software mit kaum sichtbaren Qualitätsverlust auf unter 1 MB kürzen. Die Software ist einfach gestaltet, leicht zu nutzen und fügt sich harmonisch in die Apple-eigene System- und Bedienstruktur ein. Ich verwende ein iPhone 7 Plus mit iOS 14. Bitte umgehend fixen da ich die App täglich verwende. Ansonsten ist die App wirklich toll. Preis: wert! ### 5/5 — Stunning. *2021-03-10* I had a 17mb news paper pdf, ( not scanned admittedly, but a pdf as a download of the article) that I wanted to email to a friend. On default settings it shrunk this to 373kb. The program has a nice ‘before and after’ setting so you can compare side by side the compression - indistinguishable. It says that the pdf file size cannot be reduced whereas it is almost an empty file... Even with a very low resolution !!!
