### 4/5 — GREAT app unless want GPS off

*2026-05-05*

I have used this app for years. I have found it to be excellent.
Currently have two issues with it, which to my great surprise have never changed.
(1) the app is set up so that it will show buses that have gone past the stop you were looking at, and you do not have the option to not see them.
The best you can do is the minimal setting where it will only show buses that are 10 minutes past your stop.
Since the entire point of the app is to reveal oncoming buses in order to catch them, showing buses that are past is beyond useless and simply frustrating.
Why do they not amend it so that one at least has the option of not showing buses that I’ve gone past the stop being viewed, at all?! Utterly illogical.

(2) GPS has about four options, but none of them include excluding the use of GPS entirely. One can choose minimally to have it only come on to track the bus when it is at least 1 mile away.
But one cannot choose to not use it.
This also is illogical. Once the bus is that close, it can often be seen with one’s eyes on approach anyway.
I prefer to not have my battery drained away, pointlessly giving GPS data about a bunch of things that serves no practical immediate purpose.
Since there is nothing I can do about where the bus is, simply knowing how many stops away it is is sufficient.
The additional GPS data about specifically where it is does not help me because I am not a TriMet supervisor.
Besides, every minute away, it says the buses is a stop away. So it makes some slight mistake mistakes but three minutes away is 3 to 4 stops if “due now” is denoting the upcoming stop or not.
That right there tells me what the GPS data merely serves to duplicate.
I should have the option of turning it off.
Instead of GPS data being used when the bus is a mile away regardless of if I want it to be used or not.

Because the app does not give me the freedom to turn these things off completely, and they serve no practical purpose being turned on, I will eventually switch to another app that allows me full control.

### 3/5 — It’s ….OK

*2025-02-17, version 11.4.8*

The biggest flaw is the option to see ALL departures from a MAX Platform really only shows the next 3 scheduled. Not really that helpful when trying to plan out a trip ahead of time.

Aesthetically, it could you an upgrade. It’s cold and sterile to look at.

### 2/5 — Hard

*2025-01-16, version 11.4.8*

This app is very hard to use. I’ll just drive

### 4/5 — Why no rail?

*2024-10-26, version 11.4.8*

I like this app a lot, and I use it frequently to plan my routes. I haven't used it *quite* as often as I used to when I lived downtown, and it seems to have changed a little. When I choose "bus or rail," it never gives me an option that includes rail.

### 4/5 — Mostly good

*2024-07-21, version 11.4.4*

Trimet, please change the app so it’s not blue on blue. It’s impossible to see what you have on app w Blue font against the blue background!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2024-07-05, version 11.4.4*

Great app. Would recommend

### 2/5 — PDX Bus is sometimes so inaccurate

*2024-04-29*

This morning, I was waiting for the 15 bus at Belmont and 14th. The app said that the bus was running behind with 7 minutes left to wait. I switched to the 70 bus to 12th and Morrison, which was 4 minutes away. As I walked to 12th,, I saw the 15 bus at Belmont and 12th. That is very inaccurate for the app. This has happened before.

This afternoon, at Gateway Transit Center, I put in the stop id for the departing buses. I read that the 15 bus was 12 minutes away. So I hung back and waited, Two minutes later, the 15 bus pulled up to the stop, and again, the app was inaccurate

### 5/5 — Useful! A “swiss army knife”

*2024-03-28, version 11.4.3*

I use it daily. All the info I’d want all in one place

### 5/5 — Always been the best app for trimet routes

*2024-03-02*

I’ve been using this app for years and have always really enjoyed it. It seems like a couple times a month someone asks me to help them navigate the trimet site or some other app and I always steer them directly to this. Love the ability to see recent stops and manage bookmarks.

### 3/5 — Almost

*2024-01-01, version 11.4.3*

Overall, not too bad, but whoever thought putting blue type on a dark blue background was it the most intuitive designer. Makes navigation a real pain in the butt at times.

### 5/5 — Best bus app!

*2023-12-28*

I’ve loved this app since I first downloaded it years ago. There were some problems but they fixed them. I swear I’m always discovering a new function and everything about this app is made with the user in mind. It has all kinds of functions and safely features that enhance your bus riding experience in my book. You can look at the bus you are on and the next stops to tell you when your bus will get there. You can set up favorites and look at them in advance for you next stop. You can also set even plan out a whole trip and look at all the stops you need at once, including alternate stops so you can see what bus you want to take. Might not be as simple as google maps but it actually gives you lots of options especially if you know where you’re going and how you want to get there. Plus the safety creature of the lights are super helpful once it’s dark out especially in winter! Helped me be seen and not get run over multiple times and the bus never misses me! All around the best features. Just explore it and you’ll find something that will work for you and you’ll use this app forever!

### 5/5 — Worth the learning curve

*2023-12-21*

When I first opened this app I was overwhelmed by the amount of text and thought it would not be for me. Wrong! Once I got over the hump and bookmarked a few key stops, I realized this option-packed app is a bus riders’ dream. Even though I go many different places on transit, the commuter bookmarks are still handy, and the nearby stops feature is the most functional I’ve seen. I may have quibbles (like what I think red bus times should really be for), but overall this is a reliable app with lots of options to set up what works best for you with just a bit of effort at the beginning.

### 3/5 — Colors blend together

*2023-11-19, version 11.4.3*

I don't know if it's my phone, my lack of color discrimination ability or the app itself, but the blue border, which I believe has blue words are not different enough for me to even see! White or yellow words would be so much better!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Waste

*2026-01-15, version 11.5.1*

Big waste of space. I can go on to trimet.org and get a better service.

### 1/5 — Fits the service

*2025-04-16, version 11.4.9*

An app that’s as useless and unreliable as the transit system that birthed it.

### 1/5 — Too difficult to use

*2024-12-27, version 11.4.8*

All I need is a map of stops and bus routes. This app is impossible to figure out and to use. Couldn’t find a useful map with the information I needed. It also eats phone data for some bizarre reason, as this app doesn’t seem to do anything.

### 1/5 — Unreliable arrival times

*2024-06-24, version 11.4.4*

Enough said.

### 1/5 — INSANE

*2024-06-17, version 11.4.4*

WHY ARE THE MENU ICONS BLUE AND THE APP INTERFACE BLUE???? I CANNOT SEE THE BUTTONS.

### 1/5 — Painful

*2024-06-08, version 11.4.4*

I don’t care about app planing my trip I just want a pimple way to view the schedule for red or other lines.

### 1/5 — New version is very unreliable.

*2023-11-05, version 11.4.3*

Had a frustrating morning, and ended up yelling at the bus driver, please fix the schedule updates. They're very wrong. I never had problems with the old version, but the new is pushing me back towards google maps. I don't trust it anymore.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2023-10-25, version 11.4.3*

Isn’t synced with the streetcars. Gives you inaccurate arrival times.

### 1/5 — Why just why?!

*2023-06-09, version 11.4.2*

This app never and I mean never gives me the buses close to my job. I live by the 9 and 75. All three options are the 9 and then get on another bus and then walk 8 mins to my job. I always take the 75 to 20 or 19 which drops me off 2 blocks from my job! I’ll be at the 75 stop and it will tell me to walk to the 9!!! I’m over it!!!

### 1/5 — AWFUL!!!

*2023-05-05, version 11.4.2*

Busses are ALWAYS LATE !!!! Drivers are SLOW and incompetent!!! I leave my house an hour early to get to work, my commute SHOULD be 20 minutes, yet somehow I’m always late! I shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes for a bus that was supposed to arrive 20 minutes ago!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2026-04-16, version 26.0.1*

Super specific with lots of details

### 5/5 — :3

*2026-02-05, version 26.0.0*

<3

### 5/5 — So Helpful!

*2025-12-14, version 11.5.1*

Amazing grassroots app; has saved my bacon and let me accurately plan trips (much better than Maps) countless times. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Best transit app EVER

*2025-08-11, version 11.5.0*

I use this all the time, both to see when my bus is due & to plan trips. It has so many useful features and is so easy to use on the fly. It’s worth more than most apps I pay for! (Thank you to the developers!)

### 5/5 — Reliable

*2025-08-09, version 11.5.0*

Used it for more than 7 years, never crashes. If arrivals don’t display it’s always a problem on TriMets end. I use the Locate button and it’s a single press to get arrivals, very simple and fast.

### 5/5 — Amazing and super customizable

*2025-07-08*

As someone new to the area and having to rely on multiple PDX apps to get the time table correctly for specific connections that aren’t generated automatically, this app and it’s many customizable options and selections has made mass transit commuting a breeze.

I love having specific stops saved and the ability to have departure alarms and the live tracking with 60s update intervals where you can see where your bus/tram/streetcar is at on the map.

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2025-04-02, version 11.4.9*

I have been regularly using this app since I first downloaded it way back in 2013! Thank you so much to the creator of this! It works so much better than any other transit planning sites or apps.

### 5/5 — Jury duty ride

*2025-03-17, version 11.4.9*

Excellent

### 5/5 — Indispensable

*2024-11-11, version 11.4.8*

Just a great app

### 5/5 — ADD FAVORITED BUS WIDGETS

*2024-10-17, version 11.4.8*

I love this app I use it multiple times a day but I’d love to see a widget with my favoured bus lines so I Don’t have to open the app to see when it comes/ if it’s delayed or early! It makes it more convenient so I can quickly peek at it
