## What is Pea Gravel Calculator?

Order the right amount of gravel the first time.

Tank Install Calculator is a field-ready estimating tool for underground 
fuel tank installations. Built for contractors, excavation crews, and 
site managers, it turns tank specs and hole dimensions into the numbers 
you actually need on the job: how big to dig, and how many tons of 
backfill to order.

SIZE THE HOLE FROM THE TANKS
Pick tank models from a built-in catalog of standard fiberglass and 
steel sizes — single- and double-wall — or enter your own diameter and 
length. Set your clearances (spacing between tanks, tank to wall, 
bedding below, cover above) and get the required excavation floor and 
depth instantly, drawn as a to-scale cross-section with every dimension 
labeled: tank sizes, spacing between tanks, clearance to the walls, and 
cover to grade.

ACCOUNT FOR THE WALLS
Vertical/shored, sloped, or benched — the calculator follows OSHA 
Subpart P soil classifications (Type A, B, and C) and automatically 
widens the excavation volume when the walls are cut back, so a sloped 
hole never leaves you short on material.

TONNAGE, NOT GUESSWORK
The app subtracts tank displacement, applies your material density 
(with a built-in reference guide for pea gravel, sand, and crushed 
stone), and adds an adjustable waste & compaction factor. You get the 
calculated fill, a recommended order quantity, and roughly how many 
truckloads that is. Add a price per ton for an instant cost estimate. 
Results update live as you move the sliders.
