## What is Peak Browser?

Open a tab.
Everything else is already here.

Look something up, keep what matters, and pick the thread back up later. Peak is
a native browser workspace for quick lookups, focused work, creative projects,
and local collaboration across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

BROWSE YOUR WAY

Fast WebKit tabs, saved sessions and bookmarks, and private profiles that keep
work and personal browsing apart. Pin the ones you keep open all day, and find a
closed one again with Shift-Command-T. On iPad, put two tabs on screen at once
and keep both live — a video plays in one while you read the other. Incognito
sessions stay temporary and never enter your history.

CUT VIDEO ON A REAL TIMELINE

Clips sit on rows that overlap, so a title can lie over a shot and a music bed
can run under all of them. Drag a clip's ends to trim it, drag past the end of a
card to hold it longer, and fade from the corners. There is undo, copy and paste,
and the delete key does what you expect.

Choose the frame first — widescreen, 4K, square, portrait, vertical, or the exact
sizes the App Store wants for an app preview — and everything you drop in is
fitted to it instead of reshaping the edit. Lay a deck of slides onto the
timeline and every slide becomes an ordinary clip. Put titles, shapes and icons
over the picture.

Switch the pane above the timeline and the same edit becomes a mixing desk: a
fader, mute, solo and a meter for every row. Give the project a tempo and the
ruler counts bars instead of seconds. Bounce the sound on its own, or export the
finished film.

BUILD SITES AND APPS

Start from one of eighteen finished templates — filed by design movement, each
card running the real page rather than a picture of it — or from nothing. Write
complete multi-page sites in Peak's Site Builder, preview as you go, and export
the result. PeakUI projects export as a native multiplatform Xcode project.

USEFUL TOOLS, BUILT IN

Remove image backgrounds, extract text, compress images, take a colour palette,
trace a picture into an SVG and extrude it into 3D, turn articles into clean
Markdown, and transcribe recordings. Most of it runs on device.

AI WHEN YOU CHOOSE

Optional AI chat can research, write, read your documents and images, make media,
and build whole sites. It can cut on the timeline with you — continuing a video
from the exact frame the last shot ends on — and it looks at the slides it makes
before describing them, so what it tells you is what you will see.

Run a model on the device itself and nothing leaves it — no account, no key, no
bill. Peak suggests one your iPhone or iPad can actually hold rather than the best
that exists. Apple Intelligence appears in the same menu wherever the system
can run it. Or bring your own provider, or a local Ollama model. Credentials stay
in the Apple Keychain.

A BRIEF IN THE MORNING, IF YOU WANT ONE

The start page can gather the day's headlines on the topics you choose, each
story with the publication it came from, every link a page Peak really fetched.
It is off until you ask for it, runs once a day at most, and never in the
background.

CONNECT LOCALLY WITH MESH

Nearby Peak devices connect directly over your local network. Share tabs, chats,
notes, boards, whiteboards, sites, decks, animations and games, each behind its
own toggle. A phone can borrow a model from a Mac in the same room: the Mac holds
the weights, your phone asks, and the reply streams back as it is written. No
account, no server, no relay.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your work stays on your device and can sync through your own iCloud. Peak has no
account to create, no analytics, and no tracking. Cloud AI and external services
are optional, and used only when you choose them.

### 1.6.1 — 2026-09-07

A VIDEO STUDIO ON A REAL TIMELINE

Peak has had a video project for a while. It now has an editor worth opening.
Start from Intermission → Tools → Timeline Structures: four finished cuts — an
announcement, a three-point explainer, an open/middle/close story, and a set of
lower thirds — or a blank timeline if you would rather.

Clips sit on rows that overlap, so a title can lie over a shot and a music bed
can run under all of them. Drag a clip's ends to trim it, drag past the end of a
card to hold it longer, drag past the end of a shot to repeat it. Fade handles
sit in the corners of every clip. There is undo, copy and paste, and the delete
key does what you expect.

Every project is cut for a frame you choose — widescreen, 4K, square, portrait,
vertical, or the exact sizes the App Store wants for an app preview — and
everything you drop in is fitted to it. Drop a tall photograph onto a widescreen
edit and it letterboxes rather than reshaping the whole video.

Words on a transparent card, bars, discs, blocks and eight symbols, each in one
of seven colours, all laid over the picture rather than beside it.

SLIDES BECOME CLIPS

A deck from Slides can be laid onto a timeline. Each slide is drawn once and
imported as an ordinary still, so it trims, fades and moves like anything else.
An empty project takes the deck's shape.

THE SAME TIMELINE, READ AS MUSIC

Switch the pane above the timeline to a mixer: a fader, mute, solo and a meter
for every row, and a record that turns while it plays. Give the project a tempo
and the ruler counts bars and beats instead of seconds, and clips snap to the
grid. Bounce the sound on its own to an .m4a — the same mix the video export
uses, so the two cannot disagree.

PEAK AI CAN SEE WHAT IT MAKES

Ask it to continue a video and it looks at the edit as a grid of frames, takes
the last frame of the cut, and generates a clip that starts from exactly there.
It can also cut, style, title and rearrange what is already on the timeline.

It could already tell whether a slide's contents ran off the page or landed on
top of each other, but it could not see the result — so it wrote confident
paragraphs about designs it had never laid eyes on. It now draws every slide
small, tiles them into one picture, and looks at that before it says a word. The
same picture is attached to the reply, so you are looking at what it looked at.

Turn on the new Slide Design skill and decks arrive with one palette held across
every slide, a single type hierarchy, a background that is actually painted, and
shapes only where they hold something.

A MORNING BRIEF ON THE START PAGE

Under the weather chip there is now a card that gathers the day's headlines on
the topics you choose — World, Tech, Markets, Local, Sport, Science, or up to two
of your own — and shows what you were last in the middle of. Every story carries
the publication it came from, and every link opens in a tab.

It is off until you turn it on, and when it is off Peak makes no searches for it
at all. Gathering happens at most once a day: on your tap, or the first time you
open the start page after a time you set. Nothing runs in the background — open
Peak at eleven and the brief arrives at eleven.

Every headline links to a page Peak actually fetched. Anything the model writes
that cannot be tied back to one of those pages is dropped rather than shown,
because a citation that looks right and goes nowhere real is worse than no brief
at all.

TWO TABS ON SCREEN AT ONCE

On iPad, in landscape or split view: press and hold any tab you are not on and
choose Show Beside, then whether it goes left or right. Both pages stay live — a
video keeps playing in one while you read the other. The arrangement survives
quitting Peak, because a split is something you chose rather than something you
ended up with.

### 1.6 — 2026-09-01

A MODEL THAT RUNS ON YOUR IPHONE
Settings → MLX. Download a model, pick it in any chat, and the prompt, the page
you are reading and the reply all stay on the device. No account, no key, no
bill. Peak suggests a model your device can actually hold, and refuses one that
will not fit rather than being closed halfway through an answer.

BORROW A MODEL FROM YOUR MAC
A phone can now run a model that is sitting on a Mac in the same room. Switch on
Let Peers Use My Models there, and its models appear here under Nearby Mac,
named after the machine they live on. The reply streams back as it is written.
This is what makes a small device useful: a 4GB iPhone holds a model of a few
hundred megabytes, and the Mac beside it holds one many times larger. Prompt and
answer travel over the same encrypted Mesh link as everything else — no account,
no cloud, nothing that leaves the room.

APPLE INTELLIGENCE
Where the system can run it, Apple's own model appears in the model menu beside
Peak's. No download, no key. It answers questions; it cannot yet use Peak's
tools, so it will not search the web or build a site.

EIGHTEEN SITE TEMPLATES
The Site Builder's gallery is no longer empty. Finished pages filed by design
movement — brutalism, Swiss, art deco, cyberpunk, grunge — so you can pick by
how something should look instead of by what it is made of. Each card runs the
real page rather than showing a picture of it. Take one and you get an editable
copy with no build step, nothing to install, and no request that leaves the
machine.

SEARCH YOUR LIBRARY WITHOUT UPLOADING IT
Finding what you saved by meaning rather than by keyword can now be indexed by a
model on your own device. Settings → MLX → Search.

TABS
• Pin the ones you keep — long-press a tab and choose Pin Tab. A pinned tab
  shrinks to its icon and stays at the front of the strip.
• Shift-Command-T reopens the last tab you closed, up to ten back, with its
  history and scroll position.
• Close Other Tabs, which leaves the pinned ones alone.

MAKE
• Reading without the page, on iPhone and iPad: long-press a web tab and choose
  it. Videos come back as transcripts, read from the caption track rather than a
  panel that only exists on the desktop site.
• Extrude to 3D turns a traced outline into a solid you can turn and light, with
  sliders for thickness and bevel and Download OBJ for Blender or Quick Look. It
  runs on your device — nothing is uploaded.
• Decks and animations cross the mesh now, pictures and all.
• Diagrams share one set of shades and corners, so a set of them reads as one
  set, and a deck keeps one accent throughout.

FIXED
A project that arrived twice while syncing could close Peak every time the
library was drawn, and nothing merged the pair, so it did not resolve on its
own. The library now folds them back into one, keeping every file from both.

Also: a very long animation no longer closes the app; an export that fails stops
and says why instead of waiting forever; exporting no longer freezes the
interface; a picture added to a slide is drawn; the reader fits a phone; and two
photographs taken in the same second are both kept.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-20

THE ANIMATION STUDIO
Ask Peak AI to animate something and it opens in a studio of its own: the page
in the middle, a playhead beneath it, and a row for every element showing each
moment it changes. Move the playhead, choose an element, and record how it
looks right then.

Anything can move — position, scale, rotation, colour, and how much of an
outline is drawn — each on its own schedule. Any of Lucide's 1,714 icons can
draw itself on a stroke at a time, from real curves rather than a picture of
one. Export the whole thing as a looping GIF or a video, scenes dissolving into
one another rather than cutting, and share it straight from the sheet.

Every explainer video Peak renders is now saved as an animation too, so a video
is something you can go back into and re-time rather than only something you
can watch.

IMAGE TO SVG
Add a logo, silhouette or line drawing in Tools and Peak traces it into vector
curves on your device — no upload, no account, no key. Choose the level of
detail, save the SVG, or copy the path straight into an animation. Peak AI can
trace the same way: attach a picture and ask it to animate your logo, and it
uses the real outline instead of drawing something like it from memory.

SLIDES
Ask for a deck and it opens in a tab of its own. Tap anything on a slide to
move or change it, pick the size everything is drawn and exported at — a
presentation, an App Store screenshot, a link preview — and export a PNG per
slide straight to the share sheet. A deck can also be opened onto a whiteboard
as its parts rather than as a picture of itself.

ANSWERS YOU CAN CHECK
Pages an answer was built from are listed under it, each marked as a search
result or as read in full, and each opening in a tab. Peak builds that list
from what it actually fetched rather than from what the model says it read.

READING AND FINDING
Find on Page searches the page you are reading, with every match highlighted
and a tap to step through them. One button turns the page in front of you into
clean text — pages that build themselves as you scroll keep their text, videos
come back as transcripts, and discussions come back with their comments. Copy
any of it as Markdown with its title and source.

BLOCKING THAT DOES NOT BREAK SITES
The content blocker was rebuilt around exact hosts instead of matching words in
an address, so a site's own analytics page or script is no longer refused by
accident. Rules apply to what a page loads rather than to the page itself, so
the blocker can never stop you reaching a site.

MAKE AND CONNECT
Diagrams from a sentence, in an answer or on a whiteboard. Music, speech and
generated video, with soundtracks merged in one step. Mesh now finds nearby
devices over peer-to-peer Wi-Fi with no router and no internet between them.

Tips and tricks, searchable, behind the pack in the corner of the start page.
A start page that draws its own mountain when it opens. Dozens of fixes across
reading, rendering, syncing and playback.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-11

Peak 1.4 is our biggest update yet — a major expansion of the browser workspace.

• Build complete sites and apps. New Site Builder workflows support multi-page projects, reusable media, Tailwind, Lucide icons, three.js, interactive maps, and Scroll Worlds. PeakUI projects can also be exported as native multiplatform Xcode apps.

• Projects and Library. Group conversations, sites, notes, task boards, whiteboards, and reference files around one project. Carry visible project instructions and memory between conversations, and find created or attached media in one searchable library.

• Smarter AI tools. Peak can research pages, read PDFs and images, extract a live site’s visual design, reuse existing media, edit site files in place, run pages, and visually inspect its own results.

• On-device voice and reading. Dictate messages, transcribe recordings locally, hear replies in the system voice, and turn articles, YouTube videos, and Reddit threads into clean Markdown.

• A rebuilt Local Mesh. Mesh now uses Apple’s Network framework for direct nearby connections, with clearer sharing controls for tabs, chats, notes, boards, whiteboards, sites, code projects, and games.

• More private and predictable. New controls cover models hosted in China, generated-media provenance, video-spending limits, and secure Keychain-backed credentials.

• More dependable conversations. Drafts survive tab changes, sent text clears reliably, duplicate sends are prevented, and completed agent work is preserved and summarized if a provider disconnects.

Plus interface refinements, new tools, provider improvements, and fixes across Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

### 1.01 — 2026-07-22
