## What is peak.surf?

Peak is a fast, private surf-session logbook built for surfers.

Log a session in seconds:
• Date + spot (location pin optional)
• Gear used (boards, wetsuits, fins, leashes, and more)
• Who you surfed with
• Star rating + optional notes
• Optional photos and videos
• Or start a timer when you paddle out and end it when you come in

Your surf history at a glance:
• Timeline with search and filters (spot, gear, buddy, rating, dates)
• Stats — time in the water, week streaks, consistency heatmap, monthly charts, top spots and gear
• Board Report — which board actually earns its keep, broken down by wave height and swell period
• Monthly goals in sessions or hours, with a progress ring
• Wave records — most waves in a session, fastest wave, longest ride
• On This Day and Year in Review, so the logbook gives something back
• Spots map for the breaks you've pinned

Conditions, recorded with the session:
• One-tap auto-fill for wind, waves, swell, water temperature, and tide
• Best Window Today scores the next 24 hours at your most-logged breaks against the sessions you've rated there — and tells you when your logbook doesn't yet carry enough signal to say
• Readings in your local units (ft/mph/°F or m/km/h/°C)

Apple Health, entirely optional:
• Save your surf sessions to Health as surfing workouts
• Import surf workouts recorded elsewhere, including on Apple Watch
• From an imported workout's GPS route, Peak can estimate wave count, top speed, longest ride, and paddle distance — worked out on your iPhone, with nothing sent anywhere
• Every one of those figures is labelled an estimate and every one is editable. Your correction always wins, and a later import will never overwrite it.

Widgets and shortcuts:
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets for your week streak and your last session
• A Control Center button to start a session without opening the app
• Siri and Shortcuts: log a session, start or end one, or ask when you last surfed
• A Live Activity that counts the session on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island

Designed for iOS:
• Full Light and Dark Mode
• Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and Reduce Motion support
• A clean, surf-inspired design that stays out of your way
• On iPhone models that support Apple Intelligence, your monthly recap is phrased on-device. Every number in it is computed by Peak from your own logbook — the model only supplies the wording, and nothing leaves your phone. On every other iPhone the same facts render as plain stats.

Private by default:
• No accounts
• No social features
• No analytics, no tracking, no ads
• Your data stays on your device
• Export to JSON or CSV, or take a full backup including photos and videos, whenever you want

Go surf. Log it. Improve.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.2 — 2026-08-03

Peak 3.2 is a big one: everything built since 2.6, released together.

Widgets, Siri, and the Lock Screen
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets for your week streak and your last session
• A Live Activity that counts your session on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island
• A Control Center button that starts a session without opening the app
• Siri and Shortcuts: log a session, start or end one, or ask when you last surfed

Wave stats from Apple Health
• Import a surf workout and Peak estimates wave count, top speed, longest ride, and paddle distance from its GPS route — worked out on your iPhone, with nothing sent anywhere
• Every figure is labelled an estimate and every one is editable. Your correction is never overwritten by a later import.
• New wave records on Stats: most waves in a session, fastest wave, longest ride

Best Window Today
• Scores the next 24 hours at your most-logged breaks against the sessions you have actually rated there, and cites the past session it resembles
• When your logbook does not yet carry enough signal, it says so instead of guessing
• Tide now joins the conditions Peak records, with a rising, high, falling, or low trend

Knowing your quiver
• Board Report: how each board rates across wave heights and swell periods, with a floor of three rated sessions before Peak will call it a pattern
• Monthly goals in sessions or hours, with a progress ring
• On This Day resurfaces a session from a previous year
• Year in Review turns your season into one shareable card

Recaps
• A monthly recap on Stats, and a written recap in Year in Review
• On iPhone models that support Apple Intelligence the phrasing is generated on-device; every number is computed by Peak itself. On every other iPhone the same facts render as plain stats.

Also in this release
• A first-run welcome and in-app tips
• A broad accessibility pass: larger touch targets, better VoiceOver labels, Reduce Transparency support, and Dynamic Type fixes throughout
• Fixes to conditions maths, backup and restore integrity, widget freshness, and Siri's view of your logbook

Private by default. No accounts. Your data stays on your device.

### 2.6 — 2026-07-16

What's new in Peak 2.6

• Stats 2.0 — time in the water, week streaks, consistency heatmap, monthly charts, spot mix, and conditions insights
• Search History and richer filters (spot, gear, buddy, rating, dates)
• Optional Apple Health — save surf sessions as workouts and import Watch heart rate / calories (iPhone, Settings → Apple Health)
• Full backup with photos & videos (.peakbackup), plus easier restore
• Spots map for pinned breaks, and name-only spots so first log is faster
• Share a session card from session detail
• Smoother logging, better accessibility, and a privacy-manifest compliance fix

Private by default. No accounts. Your data stays on your device.

### 2.4 — 2026-07-08

Your sessions now lead with your photos and videos. Every session opens with a swipeable strip of your best shots right at the top — tap any one to view it full screen.

We also cleaned up the session summary so your rating and the day's conditions are easier to read at a glance, and fixed a few visual glitches — including spot buttons that could run off the edge while you're logging a session.

Thanks for surfing with Peak. Keep the sessions coming.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-18

Peak 2.0 is our biggest update yet — a full redesign built to feel right at home on iOS.

ALL-NEW DESIGN
• Full Light and Dark Mode — Peak now follows your system appearance
• Native typography that scales with your preferred text size (Dynamic Type)
• Crisp system icons throughout, including a refreshed tab bar
• Cleaner spacing and alignment on every screen

FASTER LOGGING
• The session editor is dramatically smoother, even with a long history
• Photos and videos import without freezing the screen
• Recent spots and gear are one tap away with Quick Start

QUALITY OF LIFE
• Swipe a session in History to edit or delete it
• Wave height, wind, and water temperature in your local units (ft/mph/°F or m/km/h/°C)
• Gentle haptic feedback when you save, rate, and select
• New "Log Surf Session" Siri Shortcut — start a log from Spotlight, the Action button, or the Shortcuts app
• Honors Reduce Motion and improves VoiceOver support

FIXES
• Buddies and other bottom sections are now fully reachable while the keyboard is open
• Notes scroll into view when you start typing
• More reliable surf-conditions auto-fill

Go surf. Log it. Improve.
