Any time I try to AI capture a moment no matter how clear the picture it’s unidentifiable. I know they are all sparrows and finches in my area with a few random pigeons mixed in but I’d like to get what I pay for. ### 3/5 — It’s ok but I would have went a different thought *2026-05-12* We got our Peckperk as a gift. We were very excited and have been let down. The app takes so long to connect if it does that by the time it connects the bird(s) have already left. The squirrel deterrent is just an annoying alarm that bothers me more than the squirrels. It does nothing to keep the squirrels from emptying it out in a day or too. I gave it a benefit of the doubt and added a premium subscription. It has done mother. The AI does not work. More importantly majority of the time it doesn’t even recognize my subscription. ### 2/5 — Horrible AI. Slow to load. Difficult to use. *2026-03-16* First the set up. To try and get it to pair with my network took about a dozen tries. Second is the system itself. Trying to share access with someone else seems impossible. The Help section says it is easy, but to do so you have to click on buttons that are not there. And then there is the AI. When you are staring at a beautiful cardinal that is well lit the AI cannot identify it, saying the image is too blurry or dark. When it does pick up the cardinal, it identifies it as a squirrel. ### 3/5 — Excellent photo quality *2026-01-31* Love the quality of photos/videos, but the most recent update has caused glitches in the video in playback mode. The first few thumbnails are an appropriate size, but as I scroll down they are a larger size. The feeder itself is fine. The camera has good resolution and seems well built. I’ve had it for a year and the app keeps getting worse. Now I get random recording lengths mostly 2sec and the videos are not in chronological order so I have no idea which ones I’ve watched. Until the app is improved I would not recommend this. ### 1/5 — New Update Made App Unusable! *2026-02-15, version 2.4.0* I used to use this app daily and now it freezes constantly after the newest update. It’s almost unusable. Please fix this asap! ### 1/5 — Awful *2026-01-18* The app has been awful and glitchy. Freezing constantly. I can barely use it. Very frustrating for an expensive product. Really disappointed, and considering giving mine away for another brand that works. The AI feature doesn’t identify birds. I’ve never once been able to use it. The display of videos is stuck on zoom so I can’t even see the time stamps. I can’t download or save things. It just freezes. And the ad popup EVERY time it opens? Come on. However since these updates it now constantly freezes and it is now virtually impossible to download video clips to my phone. Parts of it don’t work at all including the “Collection” option. There’s supposed to be an option to add birds to your collection but when selected there is an error message stating it was not added, no matter how clear the bird is or nothing at all happens. I paid for premium. I am not sure what that was worth since few of the options on the app actually work. The camera portion is extremely clear. The instructions for the app are minimal. Everything g tells me I have to enable something without any clear indication of what that is and where to find it. I have a card. I have it activated as evidenced by my ability to screen shot, but it still says something’s won’t work due to inadequate permission. My camera was stuck on 2.0 playback and the only way to switch it back is to tip camera sideways. No instruction on that, found by accident. Multiple spots direct you to their website which is useless. This should be straight forward: one page, with settings as a second. Super annoying. The feeder itself is awesome. If you don’t care about paying for the (inadequate) AI it advertises and don’t care that most of the app functions don’t work give it a go. **Developer response:** Dear Valued User, Please accept our sincere apologies for the frustrating experience you encountered while using our product. It completely misses and doesn’t record every time it catches movement and I mean like it won’t even catch me slowly walking up to it. It has degraded severely over the past few months and the AI is terrible. It used to function decently enough but it’s been getting worse with every update.
