Prior to this notice I was thinking of rating the app a 3 or 4. There is no explanation of the limit. Just give us more money. I had to cancel because I felt like I was being held up. So this is where Peech turns into the pits. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2026-08-30, version 10.1.0* The app doesn’t download the books correctly at times and will periodically just pause for no reason, it mispronounces lots of words and skips ahead at times. Also, after paying a monthly service and extra for additional voices, half way thru my book it came up and said I was out of credits and would need to pay more to continue to listen to my book. My disappointment is that all of this could and should have been disclosed before initial purchase so I knew what I was getting into. ### 3/5 — Good start first month but 4 days into my second month im asked to buy more credits. Two days later I am told they failed to communicate that minutes were no longer unlimited. Only 1000 minutes a month with the subscription . If I read an hour a day that is 1800 minutes. The cost of buying 1000 more minutes I means the subscription monthly cost doubles hello I will be cancelling my subscription plus I just found if I get calls on my phone I have to manually restart the reading. Inconvenient since i use earbuds and phone is yards away. I’m only concern is being able to edit text. If you only listen to one or 2 short books a month, then it’s for you. Essentially you pay for your book and then pay peech too. Same price as audible at that point ### 2/5 — Great idea, bad delivery *2026-08-28, version 10.1.0* So this is a great idea because audible doesn’t always have kindle books available. The problem lies with the AI. What with a monotone reading and common mispronounced words, taking one word and making it two makes the listening extremely difficult at times. But when the reading flows it flows well and it’s a joy. So if you can muscle through the tough terrain it’s not a bad reader. I’m sure they will upgrade the AI at some point though. One more thing, they’ve changed the amount of listening you can do significantly for the same price. My subscription only ends 22nd sept 26 and I have been told today I have ran out of reading credits and I’ll need to buy more!! I have a subscription so why would I have to pay more? Apparently you get a set amount of hrs in this subscription, NOW THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Bad: Sometimes the audio would stop for no reason but you can close it and reopen, no biggy Ugly: they charge $19 a month which is okay however if you listen alot, which I do, you can run out of minutes and have to purchase more on top of the monthly fee. I purchased the year subscription of unlimited books. I listened to several books over the course of a month. Then Peech decided to change there unlimited to a 1000 credit a month which is equivalent to a book a month. I paid for unlimited and they should have honored my year subscription. They didn’t care and just said sorry. This app is full of glitches from skipping sections, switching voices and curser delay when reading text along with audio. I do not recommend this service as they’re dishonest and there are better apps out there for the same price. Unfortunately, this thing I love most is its ease of use. Much better than Speechify in this regard. Speechify often gave me problems when trying to play new books, Peech gave me no such problems with any ebook or Kindle book that I tried. Peech has worked first try with every book I have tried, and even the voices are better in my opinion. Peech picks up and reads until you tell it to stop. Speechify would only play a page or two while playing in the background, Peech played the first book I tried, and it played perfectly from prologue to epilogue, 8 hours later. I can’t recommend Peech highly enough. Do yourself a favor and give it a try, you will not be disappointed! ### 5/5 — Best yet *2026-08-29, version 10.1.0* I’m very impressed with the quality and consistency of this app I love the fact I can listen to my kindle books. One drawback is the limitations of credits and how fast they disappear. Otherwise I highly recommend using tis text to speech it beats the others by a mile.
