### 2/5 — Had high hopes. Fell way short

*2022-06-06, version 1.6.0*

The graphics in this one are vastly different than the others and seem “rushed” just to get the app out. Too much going on and only half the animals shows are good representation. Also some of the animals are very small. For winter, why oh why would you put a frog? Also, why choose a weasel but not a wolf or a bear in any of the seasons? Common forest animal that every child thinks of. I’ve had peekaboo barn for ten years now and just discovered the other apps. Peekaboo barn was simple. The continuous barn background wasn’t a distraction and easy to make out the animals pictured. I was hoping the same would be for the forest one, even if it showed different seasons. I hope the makers of the app take the time revamp this one. It could be so much better.

### 3/5 — No menu, choice

*2016-01-31, version 1.5.0*

This app is not as easy to use, you don't get to choose where to go. The animals are too small to see well. i love Charlie Harper, but these animals do a disservice to his illustrations. No real interaction for child to feel engaged. Disappointed

### 2/5 — Boring

*2015-10-23, version 1.5.0*

My 20 month old loves Peek-a-Boo Barn but this one is so boring compared to that one. It's slow, dark, and you can barely see some of the animals. She gets frustrated with it.

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2014-07-04, version 1.5.0*

My daughter (15 months) loves peekaboo barn but she is not a fan of this game. The animals are too small, the animations are not very sophisticated, and for some of the animals only the head is shown.

### 2/5 — Regretting Purchase

*2013-12-16, version 1.5.0*

I've bought the PeekaBoo Sesame Street, Refrigerator and Barn for my 10 month old (which he LOVES!). But this one requires very fine hand movements and very controlled eye/hand coordination so it's not appropriate for his age (But I think it would be boring for older children). The images don't have a wide range of colour and it announces just 3 out of 4 seasons with very bizarre music for children. Not a good addition to the PeekaBoo app series.

### 2/5 — Not worth the hype

*2013-12-03, version 1.5.0*

Beautiful pictures. Crappy app. Boring for toddlers.

### 1/5 — Just not good

*2013-05-22, version 1.5.0*

My daughter loves the other versions of Peekaboo but this one she just isn't interested in. It's incredibly slow and quiet, the animals don't make very exciting sounds (which was her favorite part of the other games). I would highly recommend purchasing the other games and not this one.

### 1/5 — Awful and boring

*2013-05-10, version 1.5.0*

Waste of money. There are 4 scenes and maybe 4 animals pop out of each one, make a sound and go away. It's slow moving and boring. Barely any content. Now it won't let me submit the review. No wonder there was only 1 great review for this junk.

### 2/5 — Feels unfinished

*2013-05-01, version 1.5.0*

Not great - especially compared to the excellent "peekaboo barn". For example:

* no retina graphics
* no ending (endless loop)
* a frog in winter?

### 2/5 — Barn >> forest

*2013-03-26, version 1.2.1*

Peekaboo barn is much better than peekaboo forest. Don't expect to like forest just because you like barn.

### 2/5 — Underwhelming and less educational

*2013-02-22, version 1.2.1*

Our family lives by the national Forest in Flagstaff, so I was excited about this second peekaboo game. But it was a big disappointment for me. There's not much content, it is not randomized, and the animals often are not fully shown. The developers really need to revisit this game, and flesh it out more.

### 4/5 — Bueno

*2013-02-08, version 1.2.1*

Bueno!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — I can’t put music over this app

*2024-11-06, version 1.6.0*

It’s frustrating

### 1/5 — Where is support? Where's Peekaboo Farm Day?

*2021-12-21, version 1.6.0*

Where is support? Where is Peekaboo Farm Day?

### 1/5 — Waste of Money

*2019-04-04, version 1.6.0*

This is not an app a toddler would appreciate. My son found it boring and scary. Peekaboo barn is best. Wish this app was cuter and more entertaining. Also, the voices aren’t very well done.

### 1/5 — Not as good

*2018-10-29, version 1.6.0*

You’d think that with people complaining about this for 7+ years that they would have redesigned this app to be more like Peekaboo Barn or Wild, but it seems they’ve decided to ride the coattails of the other two and depend on parents to buy this app because they like the others even though it’s terrible. Not nearly as eye catching or interesting as the other two. They tried to make it super artistic but it’s just not geared towards children. Very frustrated that I spent money on this because it was a waste.

### 1/5 — Not as good as Peekaboo Barn!

*2018-03-06, version 1.6.0*

My one-year-old loves Peekaboo Barn, so I bought the package to get four other Peekaboo apps. He does not like any of the other Peekaboo apps like he does Peekaboo Barn. The other ones just aren’t as fun. I would not suggest getting the package.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2016-02-21, version 1.5.0*

Not worth the cost. Doesn't keep toddlers interested and not interactive for young children. Also music is not very child friendly. Pictures are nice but don't waste your money.

### 1/5 — Sorry I downloaded

*2014-08-18, version 1.5.0*

Small, not well animated, boring for toddlers. Get the other peek a boo apps instead.

### 1/5 — Lame

*2014-06-14, version 1.5.0*

Nothing like peekaboo barn. Stay away

### 1/5 — Boring

*2013-12-26, version 1.5.0*

Only 4 scenes, not very interactive, lame music, sloooow paced. My 16 month old wasn't interested at all. Cute illustrations though.

### 1/5 — Lame

*2013-10-27, version 1.5.0*

Broke the awesome doors opening and closing format of discovery- it's unclear presentation of animals is further dulled by a woman's "Siri" like voice as opposed to the cute kid voice on the other apps. So lame!!!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great for language building!

*2018-06-30, version 1.6.0*

I love using this app in speech therapy. The kids love it and it almost feels open-world, like you can just explore. Each scene has several animal friends to find, which you see with the rustling of leaves or a tail behind a stump. You can ask what questions, label animals, imitate the sounds your hear, and more! I highly recommend this app!

### 5/5 — Love It!!!

*2015-07-02, version 1.5.0*

I am in love with this app! The graphics and illustrations are beautiful with a distinct sophisticated style. I love the real jungle feel and overall calm atmosphere while you hunt for animals. I highly recommend this app

### 5/5 — Best app ever!!!

*2014-06-18, version 1.5.0*

How luck that this was the first app I purchased for my lil man! Think I love it more than he does, so far, he's 7 months. I love that they used realistic sounds, the names of the animal is visual and spoken and the voices of children tops it off. Great app and I'll be looking for more like this.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2014-05-10, version 1.5.0*

The Charley Harper graphics are amazing and my two year old niece is obsessed with this app!

### 5/5 — Peekaboo Forest

*2014-04-26, version 1.5.0*

This is a beautifully done app. The art work is lovely, interesting things happen to move a child along the discovery and the ability to record your voice is very creative!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2013-06-27, version 1.5.0*

I just purchased this app today for our 3 year old, and she loves it! I love that you can record your own voice saying the names of the animals. We recorded her siblings saying the names, and it has only added to her delight when the animal is named. The app is quiet, peaceful, and very pleasant to look at. The graphics are lovely and simple. The noises are realistic and calm, not over the top and loud. We look for apps that are not so overly stimulating for our kids, and this one fit the bill perfectly. Very happy! The one thing that I hope is improved in the future is ease of navigation. There is no easy way to go back, forward, or stay on a page if you like. Other than that, no complaints!

### 5/5 — Nice app!

*2013-03-28, version 1.2.1*

I almost didn't buy this because the reviews were not as good as Peekaboo Barn. I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. In my opinion, this app is much better than Barn. This app has more animation and I love the different backgrounds instead of looking at the one dumb barn. Also, better suited for the animals we see in our background.

### 5/5 — Wonferful!

*2013-03-24, version 1.2.1*

The art is fantastic! It could have been longer, even a toddlers attention span is longer than this. BUT overall, I really enjoyed this app and love sharing beautiful art with my child.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2012-08-21, version 1.2.0*

I liked barn and wild a lot, but forest takes these apps to a whole new level. The art is beautiful and sophisticated and yet my 2 year old daughter appreciates it as much as I do. Bottom line: if you have little kids, get it now!

### 5/5 — A Classic App

*2012-08-20, version 1.2.0*

Our kids love all the peekaboo apps: Barn, Wild, AND Forest! The raccoon and butterfly are favorites!
