The idea of this game is really interesting. I’m experiencing a lot of glitches, unfortunately. They ask you to review texts and there’s nothing there.. like it’s a one sided conversation. Overall fun but does not fully work when things are missing and glitched. Kind of upset I spent $10 for a week for glitches and impassable areas.

I was so excited to try Peekie as someone who loves found phone mystery games, but be warned: It was impossible for me to feel immersed in any of the story because you can clearly tell that all of the images and other game assets are completely generated by AI!

None of the characters have any personality, either, leading me to believe that the dialogue and story were either also written by AI or the writing was just bad (at least in the Blackthorn Manor case, the only case I tried). Everything was so dull, the dialogue felt unnatural, and I didn’t feel enthralled by the mystery at all. I also noticed lots of graphical glitches, and there aren’t any cases that you can actually try for free because you get a popup making you purchase a subscription halfway through.

I absolutely will NOT be paying to continue this game, if you are going to charge the current price for a subscription then I expect you to actually put money and effort into making a game and pay real artists, writers, and actors! Please play games like Scriptic, Simulacra, and Sara is Missing instead. They’re so much better than this and not made with AI

this game is incredibly addictive and has so much potential - however you cannot finish a single case without paying… seems not worth it. they could make so much more money from app downloads and having certain cases being locked than locking everything, going to look to see if there’s similar apps but without the constant ai (destroying our planet!) and without the need to pay. i get you need money to keep developing the app, but there are so many other ways to do it - plus players would much prefer 2 cases they could fully complete and 10 that are locked than 30 ones you can only play 5 mins of.

Clearly uses gen ai. And you have to pay for a subscription to be able to even finish a case

Forces you into a subscription to play, badly written with AI, and the correct answers don’t work half the time

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. Peekie is a paid app, but every case includes some content you can try for free before subscribing. Subscriptions help us support the ongoing work of creating and releasing new cases every week.

I took the plunge and payed the week subscription-like 12$- it is not worth the money. I didn’t realize that this is a subscription based game when I downloaded it, but I was unfortunately so interested that, like I said before I payed actual money just to be able to use this app for a week. I was immediately disappointed. Do not waste your money on this

I’ve been seeing this game a lot on social media, so I finally downloaded it to see what it was about. I had also read reviews mentioning that there used to be a small free portion, so I thought I’d at least get to try the game before deciding whether to pay.

Instead, I was only shown how the game works and then immediately sent to a subscription screen. I didn’t actually get to play anything or see if I even liked the game first.

I don’t think that’s fair to users. If you want people to pay for the game, bring back a small demo so people can get a feel for it first. Or make it a paid app upfront instead of charging weekly. I’d be much more willing to pay after actually trying the gameplay.

So disappointed in this game! I love a good crime game and solving cases. I didnt even mind being stonewalled until I paid. But after 1 hour of playing your unlimited hints aren’t unlimited when it gives you the same clue over and over again, and to make it worse I’m giving you the correct answer to finish a case and it will not accept it. I’ve never left reviews as I dont see the point but avoid!! Will be cancelling the subscription and trying to get my money back!!

The app is basically unusable without paying from within the first 5 steps. No free play content at all.

Peekie is genuinely so good! The variety of stores and genres is unreal. Romance and betrayal. Rituals, true crime, murder mysteries… they have EVERYTHING. I'm never bored because the stories actually hit. Honestly 10/10, no skips. If you're into interactive storytelling, this app is a must.

I downloaded Peekie thinking I’d play for a few minutes and somehow ended up completely invested 😭 I love how you actually go through the phone, read messages, find clues, and slowly figure out what happened. It genuinely makes you feel like you’re investigating a real case. If you like mystery or detective games, definitely try this!
