## What is Peeklu?

Peeklu is a calm, distraction-free visual app for your baby — inspired by Montessori contrast cards used by parents for decades to support early visual development.

Why contrast?
Newborns primarily perceive strong light-dark differences in their first weeks. Their visual system recognises outlines, movement, and clear shapes long before fine colours or detailed images. Peeklu puts this to work: slowly animated black-and-white patterns gently capture your baby's attention without overstimulation.

Two modes — one calm experience

Black & White Mode (from birth)
14 carefully designed patterns in pure black and white — from simple half-circles and concentric rings to a classic Archimedean spiral and an endless zoom. All animations run slowly and steadily, with no sudden changes or flashing effects.

Colour Mode (from around 3 months)
As your baby's vision develops and begins to distinguish colours, switch to Colour Mode: the same simple shapes appear in bold, child-friendly primary colours — always freshly shuffled. Tapping the screen creates gentle ripples or colourful bursts.

Designed with parents in mind
• Full screen with no distractions, no ads, no in-app purchases
• Switch patterns easily with the volume buttons or by shaking the device
• Tilt the device — the pattern follows the movement
• Discreet parent gesture: hold two fingers on the screen to exit
• Auto-starts in Black & White Mode after 10 seconds of inactivity

What age?
Peeklu is especially valuable in the first 6 months of life. Black & White Mode is suitable from birth; Colour Mode from around 3 months. Many parents continue using the app beyond that — during feeding, nappy changes, or a quiet moment in a busy day.

Note: Short, relaxed sessions are more beneficial than long screen time. Peeklu doesn't replace talking to or making eye contact with your baby — it's simply a gentle companion for those moments.
