Peekside puts one screen on another screen, over your own Wi-Fi. An iPhone, iPad, or Mac can send. An iPhone, iPad, or Mac can watch. Every pairing works, so a phone can mirror to another phone just as easily as to a Mac. Nothing is uploaded. There is no server in the middle, no account to create, and no sign-in. The picture goes straight from one device to the other and stops there. Pair once, then tap a device and pick what you want: send your screen, watch theirs, or send captions. Nothing starts until the other person allows it on their device. The watching device cannot tap, type, or drive the device it is watching. A phone sends its screen or its captions, one or the other, not both in the same session. A Mac can send both at once. This is because screen capture on iPhone and iPad runs in a separate system process that cannot be handed a caption. Protected video appears black. That is the operating system blocking capture, and Peekside does not work around it. Sharing stops when the sending phone locks, and on iPhone and iPad it always starts through Apple's own broadcast picker. Peekside needs two devices on the same Wi-Fi network. It does not work over the internet, by design. The app itself is unchanged from 1.0.3. ### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-27 Peekside Pro now keeps the Home, Peekside Pro, and Settings tabs on iPhone, so you can leave Pro the same way you entered it. The Pro feature list sits fully above that tab bar. Store screenshots match: one-time purchase, no personal device name. ### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-25 Reliability fixes. A mirroring session could show as ended while it was still running. Peekside now keeps the two devices in step, so a live session stays live. If a Peekside Pro purchase has to wait for someone else to approve it, the action you were doing when you were asked to buy is no longer carried out later when that approval arrives. On a Mac, approving a Companion Cue request no longer asks which part of your display to share, and no longer says a display will be shared. A Companion Cue sends captions only. ### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-23 Reliability and trust fixes. If Peekside stops accepting mirroring requests because it cannot read your paired devices, it now tells you and offers Try Again instead of going quiet. When a device fails to prove it is the one you paired with, that is now reported as a rejected device rather than an ordinary network problem, so you are not left retrying a connection that cannot succeed.
