Have been using it since 2020. Using my pencil to plan my week in weekly view gets me back on track. No fiddly start times or end times, just write on the day with your own handwriting what you need to do. I seldom use the daily view since retiring as I don’t need that detailed planning every day. But it is there if I need it. A sync to a phone app would be great! ### 4/5 — Look a little closer *2022-03-06, version 2.093* I took a long time to decide on what calendar to use as planning out a long holiday. Finished entering all my holiday plans ideas and travel information. I then went looking for this app on my iPhone but was unable to find it. During my search I had not thought that this app would only work on the iPad and not link up with my iPhone so that I could read everything on each one depending on situation and what works best as my iPad is huge. So all I can say is it is a fantastic app to use on the iPad but frustrating that I can’t use across my Apple products, but in saying this now I’ve gone back and found one that does my iPad iPhone and iwatch So I will be switching over. Had to knock one star off due to non connectivity to my other devices. ### 3/5 — A little disappointed *2021-05-03* I think it’s cute but I can’t really freely move around in the app and doesn’t function as smoothly with pencil and space as it could. Thanks! ### 4/5 — Very helpful app! *2021-04-08* I use this app every day for work! It is easy and straightforward to use, the only thing I wish I could do is download this on my phone as well. I am not always able to get to my iPad but I do always have my phone on me. It would be nice to be able to pull up the planner on my phone if I need to see what I have scheduled and am not near my iPad. but overall this is a great app and definitely worth the money! **Developer response:** Thanks for the nice review Daisy_Bud! The days are pretty small and I am only able to fit one thing on each day. About the handwriting size, if you tap a second time on the pen you have chosen you will get a little menu pop-up which allows you to adjust the pen width; hope that will be helpful for you. Also, maybe you know already, but if you tap on any of the daily/weekly numbers on the calendar page you will go to a dedicated page just for that day/week, so you will have lots more space to write; you are not limited just to the little box. If not for everyday at least for every month few blank pages to track different things. Hope you will still continue to enjoy using it on your iPad for now :) ### 5/5 — I like this app, but it needs some improvement *2020-02-01* I have been using UPAD, a note-taking app, to manage my schedule. UPAD provides a calendar template and I am wrting my schedule on it. That's exactly what this app is aiming at. I like the idea of handwriting calendars, but this app is wasting too much space on screen. Even though the diary-look-like design is fancy, it wastes too much space at the side and on the middle. I think that it would be better to provide a different template as an option like a minimalism design that maximizes the use of screen space. **Developer response:** Hi, thanks very much for the 5-star review! I had almost given up when I found Pencil Calendar Pro. This does almost everything I want. I would like a notes section, anniversary section and a telephone directory to make it the perfect replacement for my Collins Diary. Explained the app did not meet my expectations for personal/business use. I did not have the app for long as i honestly did not like the set up and functions on this app! Do not recommend this app as they do not offer a free trial and practically do not care for customer service. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for! It is a true digital planner. It’s a paper planner in digital form. Some may not like its simplicity but I don’t want to draw all over my planner. This app isn’t meant to be an appointment reminder, you’ve got google calendar for that. I absolutely love this app because it allows me to view my day’s goals easily; from general goals, food, to overall schedule. This reminds me of my academic journal in grade school and the beautiful color scheme I genuinely love. Somethings I would love to see in the future: when you zoom in, the resolution stays the same, and maybe if there were some sticker packs? That would be awesome! highly recommend. ### 5/5 — Very little customizable options *2020-09-10* Updating my review to 5 stars. The developer is attentive and receptive and some of the quality of life features I suggested have been implemented! It now shows you what days you have notes in and you can change the color of the background planner! Still not able to do a dark background instead of white/light pages but the fact that you can pick a darker planner already helps the eyes. Thank you and can't wait to see how this app continues to evolve! ------------------ Only just started using it so I may adjust my review in the future but for now, the biggest issues for me are: - No keyboard support - No search function/feature - Unable to change background colors Aside from that, it does what it needs to do, keeping track of whatever you input. Be sure to make some kind of note or system to indicate a date has notes though, as the app doesn't put a marker on the date at all to signal that you had placed notes on that particular day. For example, you might have put a note for something in the daily section of the calendar but the monthly area won't show anything and since you can't search, if you're having to look back for something (for auditing or accounting purposes), you'll have to look through every day unless you create your own system on the monthly view. Kind of redundant to make detailed notes on the daily view and another kind of note in the monthly view, though. **Developer response:** Hi Dunnowhat2b, thanks very much for your detailed review and feedback. For this first version of Pencil Calendar Pro we focused on getting the core drawing, calendar and saving functionality just right, and I'm happy to hear that's working well for you. Now we are continuing to develop the app further to add new options/features and we already have plans to address most, if not all of what you mentioned :) in addition your suggestion to add a mark to the monthly views to show which daily views have notes is a very sensible suggestion, thanks very much. This Diary / App has proved to be invaluable with this. I almost have to write at the bottom of the currant date block in order not to get close to the date that will throw you to the next page to write notes. About the issue of tapping links by accident, you may want to try turning-off the ‘Enable Links’ switch in the top-right side of the navigation bar. When this is disabled links are temporarily disabled, so you can draw wherever you want in the page without accidentally moving pages. Then when you want to change pages again, simply turn the switch on again.
