Since it’s tied to my work email, I can’t even mess with it unless I’m in the office. ### 2/5 — Constantly logs you out *2024-11-25, version 2.0* I like this app except for the fact that it logs me out every few times I use the app (I have version 2.0.2). As someone who regularly listens at 3x any slower feels so slow. I wish they would update it and then I would absolutely love this app. ### 3/5 — Fine app missing key features *2023-03-24* This app is perfectly fine, and I really appreciate the audio quality, but it’s missing some key features. It would be nice to customize your audio speed beyond 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, and 2x. It also changes the audio speed every time the app closes, so when I go to plug it into my car for CarPlay I have to open up the speed settings because it immediately reverts to 1x speed, even though the app itself says it’s playing at 1.75x. Also, there is no progress percentage. It does seem like developers take comments and suggestions from their reviewers seriously, so hopefully these things will be figured out soon. Anyway, it’s a useable app and I’m grateful that it exists, but it can use some tweaks 😊 **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Your other feature requests have been added to our queue for future development consideration. ### 2/5 — Playback issue *2022-12-28, version 1.7.96* Love their audiobooks, well produced with some of the best narrators yet the app has one issue that really annoys me. When I stop listening for a while (even just 20 minutes) then restart the app the book goes back about 5 minutes. This usually doesn’t happen if I bookmark but otherwise I either have to relisten to about 5 minutes or try and FF to where I stopped. Please update for an improved experience. ### 3/5 — Great Selection, Hindering Playback Speed *2022-11-21, version 1.5.71* The limit for playback speed is 2x, which is just too slow, especially for anyone who needs to finish ALCs in time to promote them when they come out. ### 3/5 — App shuts down if any external sound starts *2022-08-20, version 1.3* The platform is okay but if an add or Map directions or anything goes off on your phone, it will stop the audiobook and not restart. You have to go back into the app to play again. I will stop at the store and when I get back in the car, it has lost my place. Will start over from a different spot. Makes it almost impossible to Listen to an audiobook. It is slow and glitchy and there have been several times it's accidentally started my audiobook over because it lags. It also constantly logs me out and makes me go through h*ll to get back in. However, I can’t enter the confirmation code I’m sent because the button to do so is under the pop up number keyboard. Fix your app! ### 2/5 — Frustrating 😭 *2026-05-28, version 2.7* I love the amount of books on here and appreciate that I have access to so many books months in advance but the fact that I can’t properly use my headphones to control the audiobooks makes this app basically unusable for me. I can start the audiobook again with my earbuds but I can’t stop the audiobook. Also the fact that it logs me out constantly is just frustrating. I want to be able to use this app but every single time I go back to it, I get so frustrated I have to DNF whatever audiobook I am listening to. ### 2/5 — Battery drain *2025-10-01, version 2.6* I'm a bookseller that uses the app for ALC's. While I really appreciate the the accessibility something really needs to be done about the UI and the battery drain. Not only is it laggy and freezes if you fast forward or rewind. It pretty much crashes after you do that. I have also had issues where the narration slows down mid listen no matter what speed at. The most egregious thing is the battery drain though. I listen to ALCs while working and noticed my phone overheating. And the battery drains from 99% to 27% in less than 6 hrs. Checked battery usage and sure enough it was PRH Audio at 73% for 3.5 hrs which is wild when the next app that used the most battery percentage is Spotify at 18% for the same time. Please please fix it. ### 2/5 — Constant Glitches *2025-08-07, version 2.5* I love having access to all of these audiobooks as a bookselling professional, and I really appreciate PRH for this app. My problem is that my app won’t stop refreshing back to the top of the page as I’m scrolling and looking at titles. For example, I’ll be browsing the “Newly Added” list and get a quarter of the way down before it automatically brings me back to the top of the list. This happens almost every single time I’m on the app, even after I’ve deleted and reloaded the app. This constant glitch is making it nearly impossible for me to browse titles. The sound retains quality when sped up and the app doesn’t automatically log me out every time (though it still does log out regularly). Hopefully future updates include better interplay with Apple Car Play and the ability to further customize the playback speed. ### 5/5 — Audiobooks for the win *2022-07-02, version 1.3* App is very easy to navigate, and the audio quality is now improved. But please please please allow us to listen to faster than 2x speed! Most other audiobook apps have this option. ### 3/5 — Solid audio app *2024-03-03, version 2.0* This is a pretty solid audiobook app — has all the standard features like sleep timer, quick buttons for rewind/skip, and speed adjustment. My main complaint is that the speed is capped at 2x, and I normally listen at 2.5-3x (I know, it’s fast). Also, playback resumes as soon as I open the app, which is sometimes annoying if I’m in public and haven’t gotten my headphones in yet. But otherwise, really nice so far! ### 3/5 — Could use some updates *2023-11-22, version 2.0* I’m thankful for the opportunity to be an influencer for the Penguin Random House, audio app, however, I have a few suggestions to make the app even better for fellow readers. My first suggestion would be to have other options for playback speed. I would love for the playback speed to increase beyond 2x. I would also appreciate if there was a visible percentage. also, there are times when I pause the audiobook, swipe to another app, and then when I come back to this app, it needs to completely restart.
