It’s fast to play and doesn’t take long to level up your little restaurant. Before I had gotten the game, I went through the reviews, because I do that before I get any game. At first I thought these people were kidding about how awful the ads were. But they genuinely weren’t joking. I was trying to get some coins by watching an ad, and as soon as I came back from the ad it sent me to another one. I thought this was a malfunction in the game but whenever I came back from that ad, I got like 10 seconds of gameplay before it sent me to another one. Deleted the app immediately, and honestly wouldn’t recommend. ### 2/5 — Solid idle game, but the ads *2025-01-19* To start things, I enjoy the game. The art style is super adorable and it’s a solid idle game. But the ads are one of the worst I have ever seen in an idle game. Pop up are near constant and you have to wait until the timer runs out, why can you not close it. Atrocious ad design and I would love if there was like a £3 one time pay to get rid of all the ad popups. ### 3/5 — Cute game but too many ads *2025-01-19* I’ve played many of your games and this one is the worst for ads. I understand that it’s to keep the game free but I’ve just tried playing and had to watch 5 ads in about 2 minutes and had 10 seconds of play. I have uninstalled the game because it’s a waste of time trying to play it which is a shame because I thought it might have been fun and I love penguins! ### 2/5 — Good aesthetic but bad monetization *2025-01-18* The aesthetic of the game is adorable but that’s the only redeeming aspect. The isle progression mechanisms are boring and quickly require you to pay real money to advance. (For example, you have to prestige your chefs and fishers, but to prestige them you need to pay with a secondary currency that is hard to get without paying money.) On top of that, it’s full of ads (bottom bar all the time, lots of “bonuses” that take watching ad to unlock, plus fullscreen ads that happen randomly. I preordered on the strength of the aesthetic, which is my absolute favorite, but even penguins serving sushi can’t save this game that’s all about monetization. If there were an ability to pay a fixed amount to remove the ads and never block progression with real money gates, I’d happily do that, but I’m not going to just throw money at it just so that I can be blocked again shortly. ### 2/5 — Too many ads *2025-01-18* It’s an ok idle game, but ads interrupt gameplay far too frequently to be enjoyable. Being asked if you want to watch an ad for extra money on level up and clicking no, only to be given an ad anyways is crazy. Music also stops frequently with no way to turn it back on other than resetting. ### 2/5 — The Penguins are drowning in Ads *2025-01-17* There are Banner ads, You upgrade your penguins to another level… Ad, Any power up… Ad. There is not a single screen on this game where an Ad available. Even though this money scheme is fairly common it’s still greed. There are no remove ads options. And this is a reskin of a conveyer belt game made years ago just with penguins down to how you tap to speed up the conveyor belt. There are small additions but they are clearly added to incorporate more ads. The flow of the game is like grinding your teeth across sandpaper. I had to watch multiple 80 second ads just to get anywhere. ### 4/5 — I love this game!! *2025-01-17* This game is a lot of fun and I like how it stays simple. A lot of idle games add too many functions, this one is perfect!! Easy to play, the penguins are absolutely adorable, and advancing/upgrading isn’t impossible. The only thing I don’t like is how frequently I get ads. Even after watching a full ad to upgrade my penguin, I almost immediately get another one. I wish I could pay like $5 and not have ads at all. Other than that, I highly recommend this game especially to other penguin lovers!! ### 3/5 — cute game, too many ads *2025-01-17* love the game. it’s so cute and original, i love the penguins and the unlocking aspect so the game doesn’t get boring. too many ads, though. the ad at the bottom of the screen is an annoyance and i’d rather pay to get rid of it than have it there. the chosen ads, where you can decide to watch an ad for a reward is fine. but having that PLUS ads you don’t choose is a bit much for me and im not sure i’ll continue playing it. apart from that, i think it’s a unique game, fun to play and is nice to have idle or actively be working on upgrading something. ### 3/5 — Had high hopes…until the ads *2025-01-17* I had really high hopes for this game. I saw it on the pre-order a while ago and added it. Was super excited when I saw it was downloaded and ready to play. I was loving it. Cute characters and easy concept and beautiful graphics. And then the ads came. It was ok when you could choose if you wanted the ads for the bonuses. But once you hit a certain level you were forced to watch an ad after a certain point and then there was the banner ad at the bottom that wasn’t there at the beginning. I would have considered keeping if there was a cheap option to remove the ads but without that I didn’t even make it 15 minutes before I deleted the game because of the ads. ### 2/5 — Ads *2025-01-17* Watched an ad to promote one of my sushi making penguins only for it to do nothing, then i immediately levelled up and got another ad there’s just too many ads and even when you willingly watch one it won’t do anything ### 2/5 — Ads are awful *2025-01-17* This game just came out and i can barely play it. More like ad simulator 🤦🏻‍♂️ *2025-01-19* I had high expectations for this game considering I saw it being released until 2025 at the time. And when it finally came out, I got excited to play just to be bombarded with ads. Like seriously? Not only that, the gameplay is extremely mediocre. It’s a simple click, and upgrade same-old same-old. There’s literally nothing unique or creative about the game. What exactly took them so long to make this game if it’s going to be so bland? The only thing I can praise are the cute penguins. This game is not fun at all, what’s the point of playing if you’re forced to watch ads every 3 seconds? Should rename this game to “ads simulator” if anything. Harsh review I know, but I don’t really care. Was excited for the game just for it to be completely unplayable and garbage. If the devs see this, I hope you can take this as feedback going forward. ### 1/5 — Add apocalypse *2025-01-18* You want to upgrade? Add. You leveled up? Congrats another add. You opened the app? Add. Way to many adds and if I could’ve played the game without them you know paying money for the game. There would be no game. Everything would be given instantly and it’s weird. I’ve played every hyper bears game and this is not it. I had large hopes and they were sure let down. I play mobile games for fun not to just watch adds. Not to mention that this game is already on the market. ### 1/5 — SO MANY FORCED ADS *2025-01-18* I preordered this game and was excited to play it as I usually really love any Hyper Beard game, but shortly after starting it I was getting hit with forced ads that sometimes took longer than a minute to sit through! It’s one thing if I choose to watch an ad for an extra bonus on a reward, but this was just too much and I decided to delete the game. I would’ve even considered paying a one time fee to remove ads, but there was no option for that. The premise of this one is no different but art and premise are cute and charming. I could have seen myself sticking with this one because come on, it's penguins making sushi. It's adorable. But I have never played a game with so many FORCED ADS and in such RAPID succession!!! I have played this now for roughly 30 minutes and i can honestly say at least 20 of those were spent waiting for ads to finish. That is NOT hyperbole, I am 100% being honest that I've spent far more time watching ads than actually getting to interact with the game. Either the devs are unaware of how perverse the ads are or they know and this is the intended result for a cash grab app. ### 1/5 — Another ad farm *2025-01-16* TLDR: in-apps are used to level up, ads are required to progress otherwise (30 seconds + 5 seconds + App Store popup + 3 seconds to close), banner ads. One of the many disappointing games where the objective is not to run a sushi restaurant but instead watch ad after ad to generate revenue for the creators. I really hoped that developers learned from their mistakes but it does not seem to be the case. I’m sure after some time there will be an update where you can remove ads for an overpriced cost, or where it won’t even remove all the ads.
