It’s super easy to use and makes finding a quality tutor a breeze. As a tutor, I have seen so many students improve their grades and understand a subject better. Would definitely recommend Penji to anyone who is struggling in a course or just simply has a few questions and would like to understand their course better! ### 5/5 — Helpful for Tutor and Student *2019-01-16* I am first and foremost a tutor for Penji and I love it. It connects me with students in all disciplines and allows me a great environment to develop my teaching skills. I also find it an excellent way to brush up on material that may have fallen by the wayside. I have also been a student of Penji and found it an extremely useful resource for affordable private tutoring. The tutors have great attention to detail and are very good at explaining when needed or stepping back and letting me figure it out myself if they think it would be more beneficial. Would recommend. ### 5/5 — The best study resource on campus! *2019-01-16* I first encountered Penji last semester, and since I was struggling in my physics class, I decided to give it a shot. Boy am I glad that I did. I was immediately matched with an awesome tutor who helped me throughout the semester. The fact that the tutor is a student who took the class I was in at the same school made all the difference. Getting help from professors or TAs often isn’t really that effective for me, because they learned the materials for themselves so long ago that they can’t relate to what I was going through. Penji’s tutors remember the struggle, and are able to relate to you and share all the tricks that they figured out for themselves to gain a better understanding. That, combined with the fact that Penji is by for the most affordable private tutoring option around is more than enough to warrant five stars in my book! ### 5/5 — Penji changed the way I learn *2018-02-02* I used to go in for office hours and help hours all the time, and I never felt that my time was being used efficiently having to wait for the professor to finish with another student. Penji changed that by offering 1on1 tutoring with an older student who has already taken the specific course at my school. The tutors are always ready to help and easy to talk to. If I don’t understand something the first time, they’re great at reexplaining to really get the info across. I was about to pay $40 for a private tutor, but Penji is way cheaper and even better quality. I was surprised by how easy the app is to use! They matched me with a perfect tutor who was knowledgeable in the specific subject of my class and who actually made the tutoring sessions really fun! Not only did I crush the final but I had such a good time learning with my Penji tutor that I am actually planning to pursue this subject that I used to literally be scared of :) Thank you Penji!! ### 5/5 — Highly recommend *2018-01-18* I really enjoy this app. Very easy to use and I’ve never had a problem getting a tutor. I’ve had four different tutors and they all were very qualified, and they knew what they were talking about. The pay rates are reasonable in contrast to private tutors that sometimes charge around $50 an hour. I’ve never used a group tutoring sessions but they seem useful and the price is even better per hour. ### 5/5 — Five stars, huge help. *2016-02-10, version 1.1.2* I downloaded Penji after seeing a flier on campus and couldn't be happier with my first few sessions. My tutor is extremely helpful, works around my own schedule, and is just an overall awesome peer. And when he's not able to meet, someone else will be. Now it has forcefully logged me out and I cannot login as it goes to the same blank white screen after inputting my email. This app and platform in general has been helpful for me to get tutoring from, but however… *2024-09-27* Hello to the person who has developed or created the Penji app, first off. I want to start off this review by saying that this app has always been great to use and also helpful and really fast enough for me to use so that I can be able to connect with the tutors for my community college faster to receive tutoring services so that I can get help with homework assignments and such, but however, recently there has been a problem and multiple people, and almost everyone on campus has been reporting the same type of issue that Penji has been having in terms of glitches. I joined my astronomy tutors waitlist room so that she can post the Zoom meeting so that she can help me and it show that she wasn’t available in the waitlist even though I logged on and Penji said that the waitlist room was open at 6:30 PM and she said that she logged on at 6:30 PM but Penji shows that no tutors have signed on.
