It did not optimize for mobile devices but uses a desktop interface. Hope this can be fixed in the future ### 4/5 — PennState Go keeps me going at Penn State *2021-09-01* The app has a lot of functions for me to quickly access systems needed for academic life at Penn State. Being able to reach Canvas quick in class is really nice, as well as the Covid symptom checker. I’ve used the link out to the symptom checked everyday during the semester since Covid started to get advice when I don’t feel well. I definitely like having the everything app. ### 3/5 — Won’t keep me logged in *2020-10-12* The main idea behind the app is great and there’s a lot of convenience behind it but, I have to log back into the app every time I relaunch the app. This strips away the convenience that the app initially offers. Beyond that, the message notifications don’t go away when an item is read and sometimes the tapping on the item doesn’t even register. Cool app, needs work. ### 2/5 — Has an extreme amount of bugs. *2020-10-02* When first opening the app, you are greeted with a page full of options that you may need. Many very helpful in your day to day life. But as soon as you click one, the problems start to arise. To start, the messages feature rarely works as it should. The app also has you log in often, but won’t let you auto fill and will sometimes just not log in. The biggest pet peeve is how none of the icons lead you to that section like you would expect. Most of them open a page of safari in the app. The app renders itself pointless due to how you can do everything faster by a google search. The app needs an extreme amount of bug fixes before it is usable. ### 3/5 — It’s fine *2020-08-28* It’s alright. Really useful in certain aspects, really annoying in other. Sometimes I rather just open the Penn State websites on chrome or safari instead of on the app, and the notifications keep saying that they’re unread even though I press “mark all as read” every time they show up. Sometimes it feels like the app is just using the website and didn’t change the function for the phone experience (example: the maps). Has a lot of potential and some of it is good but a fair bit wasted ### 2/5 — Why? *2020-08-24, version 1.1.3* I don’t understand the point of this app. It’s just a captive browser with bookmarks. Even at that it’s very slow and requires constant re-authentication. ### 1/5 — Needs fixed *2020-08-17, version 1.1.3* Every time i try to log into anything, it says “unknown error.” ### 1/5 — The most pointless app ever built. *2020-02-27* What better way a school to spend your tuition than to develop an app that uses a laggy and outdated embedded browser that literally just takes you to a mobile webpage. Oh you want Canvas. It just opens the Canvas app. If you want to see your email? Well it doesn’t use The Outlook app they pushed on students. It uses that crappy outdated browser again. What if I log in? Will it work then? Of course not. If you log in, the only thing it does is continue to ask you to log in when you touch anything. Do you know why we actually need? I’m glad Penn State learned the concepts of bookmarks... next time don’t waste my time ### 5/5 — You need this app. *2020-01-17* Amazing, absolute perfection. I just want to order lunch ### 1/5 — Frustrated *2025-01-09, version 2.4* I sign in and it tells me to access via the new update. I sign in again and it closes the app. ### 1/5 — Last update broke it *2025-01-08* I don't know what you guys did but the last update made the app completely unusable. Once I authenticate it, it tells me unknown error. Therefore, I have to go to the web to do it myself rather than go through the app. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Really useful for PSU students *2025-09-28* I’ve been using Penn State Go for a while now and it’s been super handy. All the stuff I actually need day to day (Canvas, email, LionPATH, Starfish, dining menus, shuttle info, mobile ordering, etc.) is in one place so I’m not constantly digging around different sites or apps. It makes checking to-do’s and class announcements way easier. Honestly, it’s just nice having everything Penn State related in one app. Definitely makes life as a student here simpler. ### 5/5 — Penn State Go App *2021-09-02* A must have app!
