The notes and referrals entered through this platform do not always get saved to the medical chart which I feel makes it difficult to maintain communication continuity between providers. The majority of patients don’t realize how much they should be keeping track of what goes on with their medical care and they heavily rely on providers and their documentation to keep up with that. Don’t believe a word. I’ve known some underfunded, dishonest “health care” companies but none as bad as Penn State. Its “suicide hotlines” aren’t even manned by people, but by messages suggesting that suicidal patients “call back during business hours.” I’ve had years of experience with multiple Penn State medical offices and it’s a disgraceful company. ### 1/5 — Very poor app... *2022-09-06, version 12.13.006* After downloading and getting an account, I saw no upcoming appointments, no way to test the app. It just sits there. I tried to send a message, but no luck there either - it said I had no contacts. What a waste. Not sure what this does that a phone call couldn't already do. ### 1/5 — Doctor number missing. Urgent care provider info missing. *2021-09-26, version 12.10.003* No way to contact the doctor again. No number for the doctor or urgent care in case parents or kids or pharmacist has questions regarding meds. A new consultation is additional money. If you give wrong email, you will never get any info or prescription. ### 3/5 — Two issues *2022-03-10, version 12.13.006* The login. I asked the app to kindly remember me, which it didn’t. The login does not let you access keychain passwords, so, it’s very hard to use a step by suggested password. I have to manually go into keychain and copy and paste the password. This is a huge pain point. Second. The intro video. The audio really needs to be directed to my headphones. It will only play through the phone speakers, which makes checking in for my appointment awkward while sitting in my office - before I take the actual call in a more private place. ### 3/5 — Patient *2022-02-04, version 12.13.006* I found it awkward to use. There was some trouble about how many questions I had to answer. How does this app work with just General questions I have been going through the web portal. I was using it on my phone. The nurse had to hang up before the doctor could use the app. I found the user experience to be very troubling. ### 3/5 — Dropped appointment *2022-01-04, version 12.13.006* Uncertain if this was a technical issue or not, but I had an employee screening setup that dropped as soon as I was about to connect to the provider. Frustrating to wait for 2 hours, only to have the rug pulled out from underneath you like that. It worked the second time. ### 3/5 — Great when it works *2021-09-09* I have Health on demand app and whenever I get an appointment scheduled through my provider, I would think the app would allow me to click into my appointment. However you must wait for an email and then click on the link and then the link doesn’t always connect to the appointment. The only way I was able to do my HealthOnDmnd was through my cell phone. It worked but it took me over 40 minutes to get connected & I missed my appointment. Fortunately my provider was willing to see me anyways. Ugh it’s so frustrating for a top rated institution to have such lousy IT…I’m an employee & can verify that many of the programs & platforms are antiquated by comparing the sites with other companies whose products are so much more efficient!!! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — So convenient Top Notch! *2026-03-27, version 12.22.400* So convenient better than making an appointment the old fashion way push button for this and that and with this …the health provider is sitting there waiting on you and not the other way around… my time is precious and this is service values my time, life and cuts down on my stress and having to travel some where and wait around other people that may be contagious, etc. Thank you so very much.
