They have several amazing widgets that I wanted on my home screen. Unfortunately you can’t add widgets unless you’re a subscriber. So if I want to avoid paying for another subscription, I need to open the app each time to check the standings. At that point, I might as well just use the MLB app, which I already had. There hasn’t been any updates since November and it is now January. No way to contact for support or questions without beingof subscriber to formally known as Twitter. But I hate social media. I’m going to unsubscribe to the premium since I am not getting anything out of it now ### 3/5 — Wrong year / season in widget *2023-09-07, version 10.7* MLB shows 2022 (label and team data) even though I have it set to 2023. Current season is correct in the app it’s just the widget that is wrong. Now they’re wanting $10 every year… it is NOT worth that… however, they do have some pretty awesome widgets if you’re in to that sort of thing. My rating for this app used to be 5 stars. This new (ridiculous) $10/yr price for premium is enough to knock this app down at least 1.5 stars… >>>> so now we are at 3.5 stars I cancelled my premium membership but it doesn’t go into effect until January 2024, so all of my premium features/widgets should work the same as they always have. Unfortunately, there have been major issues with their widgets for at least the last 3+ weeks. Whenever I scroll thru my widgets and come across this the Pennant app’s widget, I encounter one of the following issues: a.) the widget shows the wrong year’s standings. It keeps showing me 2022 standings (MLB) even though I have the widget set to show the current season’s standings (2023) Or b.) it grays out the widget completely and shows a picture of a lock. It has a message telling me that to view the widgets I need to have a premium membership. I keep clicking on the “restore previous purchase” and it doesn’t fix the issue **remember I should still have access to everything premium until the end of January 2024** the above issues bring this app’s rating down another 1.5 stars >>>> so now we are at 2.0 stars —————————————————————— To the creator of the app…. I’m sorry, but the Pennant app is NOT worth $10 per year. Plain and simple this price is a total rip off…. especially when the only cool thing about the app (the widgets) have been faulty more times than not for several weeks now. Maybe if the app and widgets actually start working correctly again AND you expanded the selection of sports beyond the big 4 professional American sports leagues. You should consider adding College Football and College Basketball… and, although I’m not a fan of soccer, it would be wise to add some of the major professional soccer leagues around the world. ### 2/5 — Great when it works *2023-06-24, version 10.7* The widgets now say I need to upgrade even though I have paid for the premium features. This one does, but when I select 2023 on the Edit Widget screen it still displays 2022 standings. Lately it doesn’t update scores. NHL scores are almost a month old. Tried all the usual moves to get it to refresh. But that’s not the 1-Star review, it’s the ability to message the dev for help. “Support” is X [FKA Twitter] but I cannot DM the app profile; and I cannot DM the dev human unless I spend money to get X Verified. Frustrating and an absurd waste of my time. ### 1/5 — Widgets are a pain to get right, but good once done *2023-09-09, version 10.7* I’ve had the app for many years now (4?) and find it solid overall HOWEVER each year when it comes time to update the season (eg 22-23 to 23-24) it is a royal pain the backside! I keep getting stuck in a loop where I select the new season year but the widget keeps showing a past season. Some for of this headache happens EVERY SEASON CHANGE. This really detracts from an otherwise quality app. ### 1/5 — Bugs bugs bugs *2022-10-23, version 10.7* This used to be a really good app and the developer responded immediately to bug reports. It’s become an error filled piece of junk and the developer ignores bug reports. Case in point, in the NBA Central Division, a team is 2-0, 1.000 win pct, 0 games back. 2 teams are 1-2, .333 win pct, also listed as 0 games back. A 3 rd team is also 1-2, .333 win pct, but that team is 1.0 game back. And the final team in the division is 1-1, .500 win pct, also 1.0 game back. So why can’t the developer do basic math and sorting? This kind of error happens in every sport every season, some get fixed, some don’t. I can only suggest you use this app as a curiosity, nothing to rely on for accurate information. ### 1/5 — Subscribed to annual but not recognizing that I have it *2022-09-26, version 10.7* I’m subscribed to the annual all sports subscription and now the widgets are saying that I need to upgrade to pro and not working. It’s updated frequently which I appreciate. Please add so when I’m in the my pennant view, I can click on one of my “widgets” and get into that info. So I click on my fav team and it takes me to the team screen. I click on NFL standing and it takes me to the nfl screen so I can dive in more. Should all be linked together. If possible, would love to be able to also see my teams upcoming schedule. Who they are playing, dates, and times. Also needs playoff data/standings/games. I am so bummed that I didn’t find this app until the end of September. What a brilliant concept! This is a great example of how excellent design can make tons of data fun to consume.
