## What is Penny?

Stores mark items down to a penny. They just don't tell you which ones.

Penny does. Live clearance, real price mistakes, and the $0.01 finds that never make it into an ad — with the aisle and bay, so you walk straight to the shelf instead of wandering the store.

PRICE GLITCHES
Real pricing errors, caught while they're still live. A 65" 8K TV at $1,977 that should have been $5,299. An electric scooter at $601, down from $1,399. These get fixed fast, so you hear about them fast.

IN-STORE CLEARANCE
Home Depot markdowns at the store you actually shop — down to the aisle and bay. Most finds save more than $50. No app tells you where the item is standing. This one does.

PENNY LISTS
Every week, items at Dollar General, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar quietly drop to $0.01. We publish the list before they're gone.

BARCODE SCANNER
Point your camera at anything to see the real clearance price. The shelf tag is wrong more often than you'd think, and it's almost never wrong in the store's favor.

SAVED DEALS & ALERTS
Save what you're hunting. We'll tell you the moment the price moves.

DISPONIBLE EN ESPAÑOL
Toda la app está en español, no solo un botón traducido. Ahorrar no debería tener barreras de idioma.

Doesn’t show where the penny deals are no matter what zip code it changes it on the item page and it’s not correct

**Developer response:** Thanks for the honest feedback! I think what tripped you up is that there are actually two kinds of pennies in the app. The Dollar General list is nationwide, so those ring up for a cent at any DG, not just one near you. Just take the item to your local register and scan it. The Home Depot pennies are the in-store ones, and those actually do show you the store and the exact aisle near you, which is probably the "where" you were looking for. We also just fixed a ZIP bug that was showing the wrong store on the item page, so update when the next version drops and set your ZIP once. Give it another shot, and if it's still off, just email me.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.2 — 2026-08-14

See which store is worth the drive.
The In-store tab now shows how many clearance finds are waiting at each store near you, so you can tell at a glance where to go instead of tapping to find out. And when we're checking a new store for you, you can watch it happen instead of waiting on a blank screen.

Straight to what you unlocked.
After you subscribe, every place you just paid for opens with a tap, with a live count where we have one. Before, it was a list of promises and a single button.

"Confirmed by" tells the truth now.
Penny finds show the retailer that actually verified the price. Family Dollar finds were missing that line entirely — it's back.

### 1.7.1 — 2026-08-11

Your saved deals now live on your account, not just on this phone. Reinstall or
switch devices and your list comes back, penny finds included, with their prices
and store details intact.

In-store finds tell you where to look. Home Depot rows show the exact aisle and
bay when the store has confirmed it. Target doesn't publish aisles, so those rows
show the section plus the DPCI, the number printed on the shelf label that any
associate can look up.

Spanish is Spanish everywhere now. Error messages were the one place the app
still fell back to English, which is exactly when clear wording matters most.

The in-store screen no longer gives up. A single dropped connection used to end
the whole load and leave you on a dead error screen. It keeps trying now.

Also: if your ZIP is saved to your profile we use it instead of asking for your
location again, and retailer tabs that have never had a find near you are gone.

### 1.7.0 — 2026-08-02

Saved deals now follow your account, so they're there on any device.

New alerts inbox — every price drop, penny find and glitch lands in one place instead of vanishing with the notification.

Tap a notification and you go straight to the deal, not the upgrade screen.

eBay prices now read "Listed ~$X" and say plainly that these are asking prices, not sold prices. A member caught us on this one and he was right.

### 1.6.9 — 2026-07-26

Deal Radar, rebuilt.

The Radar now ranks by how much money you actually save, biggest
first, instead of by percentage off. A $3,000 saving no longer sits
below a 99% discount on a $4 phone case. Confirmed price errors jump
to the top because they disappear fast.

We also stopped showing deals that already ended. Every card now has
to prove it is still live, and anything we cannot verify comes off
the feed. You will see fewer cards. All of them will be real.

In-store, done right.
Setting up your local store no longer leaves you staring at a spinner.
You see your actual store, the real stages of the search, and an honest
estimate. If there is no store close enough, we tell you straight away
and offer the nearest one instead of leaving you at a dead end. Walk
away and we will notify you when it is ready.

Penny guides you can read in an aisle.
Rewritten to be scannable while you shop, with the Home Depot tell that
actually finds pennies and the verified facts the old guides were
missing.

Also in this release:
Alerts now reach you. A bug meant most people were never registered
for notifications, so deals went out and never arrived. Fixed.
Emails and push now arrive in your language.
Locked deals show what you would save, so you know what is behind
the upgrade before you pay for it.
We removed a countdown timer that was not real.
The scanner answers faster and no longer opens with a promise the
data cannot keep.

### 1.6.8 — 2026-07-25

This one is about telling you the truth and helping you find more.

• Rewritten hunting guides. Every retailer has its own tell: at Home
Depot, "not available in this store" in their app often means it just
went to a penny. At Dollar Tree, the price checker on the wall tells
you before you ever reach the register. Now we teach you exactly what
to look for at each one.

• Every lead shows its age. See when we last spotted it, and we flag the
  ones that are getting old.

• Fewer dead ends. If your store has nothing today, we point you to your
penny leads instead of an empty screen.

• In-store: fixed the "0 deals" that showed even when your stores had
  plenty.

• The scanner is now honest about what it can and can't do.

• We removed the countdown timer from the upgrade screen. It wasn't
real, and it shouldn't have been there.
