Had I known this app we’re gonna be so bad I probably would’ve never bought my pool controller. I feel like they’re doing it by design to try and get you to spend more money on higher end gear. I was looking forward to buying into the whole Intelliconnect ecosystem but the basic function is difficult at best. 

My opinion is they need to either redo the app or scrap the whole project. I work and home automation for a living, and this looks like it was created by a high school kid. I would also advise some Google integration. There’s so much potential with this item but it was a very poor execution.

Ok, so my guess is that the Pentair manager responsible for developing this app paid his 10 year old $15 to develop this app on the down low. It’s bad. Besides having zero features, it hangs every time and so you have to close and relaunch it every time you want to do anything with it after pushing any selection. “Please stand by...” is what the app consistently tells you. Wow, it’s bad.

This is absolutely the most awful app I’ve ever used in my entire life. I can’t believe it anybody would put their name behind such a non-native application. Whoever designed it should be fired and never create an app again.

The overall app is terrible but my main issue is and always has been the freeze protection. No matter what I do, the app ALWAYS shows 65 degrees outside. So I’m left to crossing my fingers that the app will actually work to turn the pump on when it gets to freezing outside. It’s the worst WiFi enabled product we have and unfortunately it’s the most expensive we have. Also, restarting the phone, app, etc doesn’t change anything.

This excuse for an app is so incredibly frustrating! When it does work, which only maybe 25% of the time, it is so cumbersome and soooo slow that it hardly makes it worth the effort. And the bouncing blue ball is the worst. 8 out of 10 times I use I have to restart my phone to be able to connect. Then maybe only 50% of the time it actually works. Get with it people and fix this so it actually functions and is actually something we can rely on!! I would have given a lower score if 1/2 seat was an option.

I would give this app 0 stars if I could.  The app is slow, clunky, freezes, and constantly kicks me out.  When trying to sign in, the app never recognizes my user name or password.  I eventually get back in by turning off and on my phone.  I am very thankful I didn’t pay extra for additional automation that would have allowed me to open and close valves from my phone.  That would have been a waste of money.

I have to say I'm not quite sure about some of these reviews. Using Link2O for pool automation for the price point Pentair is offering IntelliConnect is pretty awesome with some pretty advanced features built right in!  

Are they using web technology... yes. Does that mean you can connect to your equipment via a browser or this app... YES!  Does it take a bit for some stuff to load... yes. Do you need to account for the fact that you are connecting to an app that connects to your equipment in real-time over your connection/firewalls/etc to pull the information bring it back to you... YES!

There are some minor items that I think could be improved, but I have found that overall the app does what it says it is going to do and does it pretty well. The support team has been extreamly helpful, and the updates have been easy while adding functionality that makes sense as a user. This application is not a local card game application nor a much more expensive automation system that is going to have all of the bells and whistles. Because of that, I feel like there is a lot of unreasonable expectations from some of the reviewers. 

I have to say that I think Link2O is a great value, and I would have no problem making the same decision again or highly recommending it to anyone else. Keep up the great work, Pentair!

I have been happy so far. Installed backup sump pump, downloaded app and connected to the internet. I did a couple of test runs on the pump through the app, then a couple of pump unplugs, app notified me through text message and email everytime...
I have gotten alerts for low internet connection but i expected that since the pump unit is in the crawl space and the router is about 60’ away on main floor.... all in all i know the pump will run if power goes out or main pump fails.... So far im happy with it all!!  I have Iphone ios 13.2

App has terrible navigation thru it’s pages. I’ll go months with no problem, then try to open the app with it asking for my password... which usually doesn’t work when I enter it.  I’ve learned to be patient and eventually everything comes back online without putting password in. It’s magically stupid. Please fix and please stop trying to tie the app and it’s use thru a database. Wish I had done more research before buying this Pentair product.

I just installed this system. What I find frustrating is that it would be nice to have the ability to view on the first page of the app all the system functions like what the Heater temperature is set for and the current temperature. For the pool light relay, whether light is on or off. Also the RPM of the pump without having to go deeper into the programming of the app.

This app seems to make no direct connection at the local level. It is a web page connecting to some external entity. Due to this it is slow, laggy, and seems to have been designed in the 90s. 

Understand that this is not Pentair’s forte or main line of business but this is the way the world is going. This happens to companies over and over again. One day the shareholders will wake up and there will be an Amazon Alexa or Siri connected thing that will be smarter and work better with less worries for users. Very few people right now are choosing to install traditional irrigation controls... why? Companies like racchio.

Hayward is doing a better job at this right now.

I travel a lot and my app never is sending me the correct information. I actually need to be at my pool to see if the pump is working.  Also and even harder is that when you set the pump time cycle, good luck having it work. Why cannot this be made easier and more reliable

Pentair - Overall I like the app, I also like the fact you can login online and via a web browser. But the reality is this is 2020, and there has been no update for over a year, and waiting up to 10 minutes for the ability to switch a pump on and off is not really acceptable.
