## What is Penumbra Vault?

Penumbra is a private, encrypted vault for the things you want to keep to yourself.

Everything is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your PIN — not even we can see it. No ads, no tracking, and we never hold your files hostage behind a paywall.

You can now put your vault photos and videos back into your camera roll. There is a Save to Photos button, and if anything goes wrong the app tells you exactly why instead of doing nothing.

Sharing or exporting a file keeps its original format, so HEIC photos from your iPhone and your videos come out untouched.
