### 2/5 — Not impressed

*2021-12-28, version 2.0*

I prefer the old SparkPeople. More interaction with people who are on the same journey as I am.

### 2/5 — Needs updating

*2021-12-01, version 2.0*

Definitely like the old app better. No back arrows so you have to go back to the drop down menu to move around. Also fitness doesn’t blend with food tracker like the old app.

### 1/5 — Still disappointed

*2021-11-15, version 2.0*

I am trying this new version of Sparkpeople for the 2nd time. It is still a disappointment. Obviously the developers and owners don’t care what long time users think. They took the best fitness app available and destroyed it.

### 1/5 — Old spark people was better

*2021-11-15, version 2.0*

Not impressed at all with this app. No barcode scan your stuff. This may things easy. You can’t put in recipes like you can with other ones. I deleted this one after a couple days very disappointed. Not gonna use until things drastically improve.

### 1/5 — Not a fan

*2021-10-24, version 2.0*

Maybe this app is less disappointing if you aren’t one of us being directed to it after many years of using SparkPeople. This is basically what’s left of you stripped everything good out of SparkPeople. Not only is the community gone, but this is a far inferior food tracker, there are much better options available.

### 1/5 — Nothing compared to old Spark People

*2021-10-19, version 2.0*

Use old Spark People programs and apps, almost from their start, miss them this is nothing to compare with past programs. Waste of time, I’m moving on to IFIT and other apps and fitness people on YouTube.

### 1/5 — Can’t even create an account

*2021-10-09, version 2.0*

This app is horrible. They never should have removed SparkPeople.

### 1/5 — Not liking the new app

*2021-10-04, version 2.0*

I love the food tracking of the older one. It would be nice to bring that back to the one

### 1/5 — A DownGrade from SparkPeople

*2021-10-03, version 2.0*

SparkPeople was my absolute favorite fitness and food tracker. I’ve been using it for eight years. I loved being able to scan foods and create recipes to track calories.
This app is such a huge downgrade. I can’t even get it to connect with my FitBit. Every time I try to connect it I get an error code.
Extremely disappointed.

### 1/5 — Not Impressed

*2021-09-19, version 2.0*

I have used the old SparkPeople for about 20 years after a friend recommend it. I mostly used the food tracker and recipes. I could enter ingredients and make decisions about how to tweak it the get it down to my carb count. The new app/ site food tracker is not user-friendly. There is no way to identify favorite recipes from the database and no way to add recipes to the tracker. Not going to take time to enter every ingredient into my tracker. I’m sure the new app/ site are good for some, but I wish you would bring back the old version (call it Classic or something) for the rest of us!

### 1/5 — Not a shade of what the Sparkpeople food tracker was :(

*2021-09-19, version 2.0*

You can only track current and previous days. If you like to add your regular meals for the upcoming week, you are out of luck because you cannot add for future days.
Sparkpeople had the best tracker. I cannot understand why they decided to do away with what was possibly the best tracker in the industry. On top of that, you have to log in every time.
It does not seem that they will fix the tracker any time soon. They have lost a lot of members, including me.

### 1/5 — Frustrating signup

*2021-09-10, version 2.0*

I have been trying to create new account since the new SparkPeople app now sparkamerica showed up. Every time I try I get the same response. Invalid. I defiantly miss the old app, it works way better!!!

### 1/5 — Sketchy signup

*2021-09-03, version 2.0*

Why is my only sign up option to supply 67% of my Social Security Number and my birthdate? Most places need an email address and a password. It’s going to be difficult to give these guys a chance to replace Spark if i can’t even get past signing up on the new app. I miss Spark.

### 1/5 — I’ll try this

*2021-08-25, version 1.2.2*

I must have missed the announcement that the old spark was closing. If I had known, I’d have gotten my pics and other customized data I had on the old platform. So far, I’m not liking this new platform. My city nor employer is listed!

### 1/5 — Switching to FitBit

*2021-08-25, version 1.2.2*

I know they had to do what they had to, but I miss the old SparkPeople.I miss being able to scan my food into the app. I miss the how sparkpeople tracked my activity synced to Fitbit and adjusted my calorie ratio. I miss the automated Meals
I switched to Fitbit because I can scan my meals in. They have most brands in the database and it gives how many calories I have left in the day based on my Fitbit tracking

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nutrition Tracker is hard to use if you cook with more than a couple ingredients.

*2024-10-18, version 2.2*

* should allow entering by weight OR volume for all foods
* should allow personal recipes
* should enable barcode scan

Also should allow a weight gain goal.

### 1/5 — Hhhm

*2022-09-20, version 2.2*

Tried signing up and it keeps telling me it doesn’t recognize me. Of course because I haven’t signed up yet.

### 1/5 — Would give a zero if I could

*2022-05-02, version 2.0*

Couldn’t even get logged in… asking for very personal information…. No thanks

### 1/5 — Social security to register for health app?!

*2022-02-15, version 2.0*

It’s too bad they got rid of spark people, it really helped me lose weight, I lost 50 lbs with its help of tracking my weight, calories and exercise. Now with this app they ask you for a social security number and I just don’t get why..all I want to do is track my health details. To bad I’ll have to find something else :/

### 1/5 — Can’t use without SS number?!?

*2022-01-15, version 2.0*

I tried to sign in as a new user with my email. The app wouldn’t accept that (even though it worked before as a Spark People email). Then it suggested I try to sign in instead with my social security number. I don’t go around giving out to my social security number—much too risky and not an appropriate request at all.

### 1/5 — What Happened? SpearkPeople GUTTED a great app…

*2022-01-14, version 2.0*

I was a happy user of SparkPeople years ago. It was easy, fun, motivational- a WELCH of information. What is this?!? They made it both more difficult to get signed up, AND they stripped away all the great features of the original. This app just seems- naked. Wanting. Sad. Just paid for a yearlong subscription to LifeSum rather than use this depression, unhelpful app. LoseIt!, MyFitnessPal- there are a PLETHORA of apps that TROUNCE this sad excuse for a well ness app. Do yourself a favor: Keep your personal, private info to yourself and look elsewhere for a GOOD app that’s worth your time, effort and trust! Not sure what the endgame here is, but this feels like a betrayal.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2021-12-30, version 2.0*

I had been with Sparks for many many years and was easily able to sign in. I am no longer able to do so. I’ve had to delete this app a numerous amount of times.

### 1/5 — Really don’t understand why they changed

*2021-12-26, version 2.0*

There’s no back button on the recipes so if you click on another recipe you will literally have to go to the search page and start all over again to look at recipe you were on first. You can’t add the recipes to your food tracker so you have to manually write them down then go in and add each ingredient. I haven’t even gotten that far yet but I’ve heard you can’t save favorites so you will have to do that each time. Awful. Truly awful compared to what it used to be and what it could have been. Such a waste.

### 1/5 — Nope

*2021-12-17, version 2.0*

Just tried to create a new account to use this app. They want my SS#. I don’t think so. I was on spark people for many many years. That was a great site. This, I’ll never know…. I’m not giving out my SS# or other information personal to me to just try the app. Nope.

### 1/5 — Wellness scam

*2021-11-19, version 2.0*

Poorly designed simplistic app. It’s only purpose is to sell you quack based wellness concepts. No practical usefulness at all and bad design.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2025-08-14, version 2.3*

I loved sparkpeople and it was great when they made it into an app! The tabs are hard to find, where and how to log your food diary and I can’t find a upc scanner. But once I figured out how and where to enter my new goals, weight updates, it works really well. I like how it has the ability to give a printable diary, I can easily print it up and show my nutritionist. Overall, it’s better than every paid app that I’ve used and it still holds all the greatness of SparkPeople.

### 5/5 — Keeps getting better

*2022-05-12, version 2.1*

While staying easy to use, I love all the new features. Makes staying fit fun.

### 5/5 — Old fan of sparkpeople. New fan of PeopleOne

*2022-03-20, version 2.0*

I lost a lot of weight using sparkpeople.

After a week or so of tracking my food I realized my fat calories were too high and adjusted my eating.

Over the years some old habits crept in. I want to lose fifteen pounds. I entered my food into the food tracker and am eager to get things started again. So far it looks very similar. I am sure this will work.

### 5/5 — Loving it

*2021-08-08, version 1.2.2*

I just switched to this app from SparkPeople and while it’s taking a bit to get oriented to the system (to absolutely be expected), I am really liking it.

### 5/5 — Always evolving!

*2020-10-24, version 1.2.2*

I’ve been on the app for awhile now and it just keeps growing! The new fitness game keeps me moving to reach my daily goal and most importantly keep my streak alive! I appreciate the option to set up notifications for challenges or messages from my coach also. This helps keep me engaged and coming back to see what else is new in the Spark360 app. The healthy living section is always perfect with what is happening throughout the year. Holidays, working from home, or mindfulness, it is constantly changing with content.

### 5/5 — Spark360

*2019-10-26, version 1.02*

Spark360 delivers on its spark; check it out. Evidence-based information and support for a healthy lifestyle!

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

*2019-10-24, version 1.02*

This app is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. I love being able to access trusted, health-related content on my phone at any time.

### 4/5 — Glad it’s still available

*2024-02-05, version 2.2*

I do miss the old spark people, there just will never be anything quite as good. But this app is almost just as good and the full site, spark America, is almost there too. I wish they still had the old ticker that moved toward your end goal. It was a strong motivator to watch that move and I don’t know why they won’t bring it back. I also miss all of my old saved recipes and meals and don’t really have the time to input it all again like I used to, but it’s way better than the other weight loss apps out there that just feel so clinical and boring. Just bring back the weight ticker!! That was the best feature and most of the reason why I ever lost weight with the original spark people.

### 3/5 — Something New - I Like Change

*2022-01-16, version 2.0*

So far, I am enjoying exploring the app.

I use to use Spark People (SP) for years and was successful in my weight lost. However, I never reached my goal weight - I got bored with SP after the constant “improvements” and didn’t use it as much as I did before.
I would always try to come back but the constant “improvements” just completely change it for me and just the overall community of the app and website.
It was bittersweet to find out it was all coming to an end but most people I interacted with checked out years ago.

That all being said, I am exploring the new app and Spark America. I am feeling more motivated to start a new fresh journey using this app/SparkAmerica…will update how that goes at the end of March 2022.

### 3/5 — Good for the week it lasted on my phone

*2021-08-22, version 1.2.2*

This tracker was great for the week it lasted on my phone, then it froze… can’t track food or activity, back to some other apps I guess. Sad, since I was a huge fan of spark people
