Why don’t you teach the alphabet and basic pronunciation? This single starting point is missing from all of the current Ancient Greek language apps. Please give us a leg up and add this to the app. Thanks for considering. ### 2/5 — Difficult for beginners *2023-09-10* I was looking for something to help me learn greek while i was in an ancient greek class. This is much too hard for even an intermediate learner. ### 3/5 — Accent errors *2024-10-26* Accents for the 1st Declension noun ψυχή are incorrect in the drills. Having a tool to drill grammatical case is cool in theory, though. Not sure about accent issues with other Greek words in the app, but keep an eye out. ### 3/5 — Hanc applicationem amo *2022-04-12, version 1.1.4* I have been enjoying this app, But i do think there needs to be someone in charge of fixing up spelling errors as i do get a little lost from certain words. But overall its a sturdy app amo amo! ### 4/5 — Good but one tiny thing *2023-02-05* This app is very good but every time you answer wrong it adds a new question on, which means you could have done hundreds of them before you finish, if you don’t know too much Latin. ### 4/5 — Good, but contains non-existing Latin forms *2022-10-18, version 1.1.4* PERDISCO offers very useful exercises and interactive quizzes focussing on vocabulay (Latin-English, Latin-Dutch), conjugation, declension, historical dates and facts, Roman numerals, and a whole test series by which you can consolidate what you’ve learned so far. However, the app creates non-existing Latin word forms (October 2022), especially of some verbs that have no passive voice or just an impersonal passive in the 3rd person singular: - solere, soleo, solitus sum “to be accoustomed to do” (semi-deponent): the app wants you to conjugate non-existing passive forms in the present stem like *soleor, *soleris, *soletur, *solemur, *solemini, *solentur; - parere, pareo, parui, paritum (supine) “to appear, to obey”: PERDISCO wants you to form the future perfect of this verb in the passive voice for all six persons like *paritus ero/eris/erit, *pariti erimus/eritis/erunt, although it is only possible to form an impersonal passive in the 3rd person singular - paritum erit; - like all Latin infinitives, the perfect passive infinitive in its standard form is neuter, e.g. vocatum esse (not *vocatus esse); this form only changes in a sentence containing an accusative with infinitive (vocatum/-am/-um esse, vocatos/-as/-a esse) or a nominative with infinitive (vocatus/-a/-um esse, vocati/-ae/-a esse), so *vocatus esse is just a possible variant appearing under certain circumstances; - latere, lateo, latui “to conceal, to hide, to lie hidden” has no supine stem and no passive, but PERDISCO wants you to create a non-existing perfect passive infinitive *latitus esse; Additionally, the app contains a few incorrect word forms which I consider to be typos: - *tenitus = tentus (perfect participle of tenere, teneo, tenui, tentum) - *facinoria, *facinorium = facinora, facinorum (nom./acc. pl., gen. pl. of facinus, facinoris n., 3rd declension, no i-stem) I only checked the Latin section, and the things I pointed out above are just some mistakes I notice here and there. Maybe there are more, maybe there aren’t. But I invite the creator(s) of PERDISCO to make an update of this very useful app, so that absolute beginners don’t learn and create forms that simply don’t exist. Thank you. ### 4/5 — Suitable for advanced beginners *2022-07-30* I haven’t been using this app for long, but it’s already been very handy and easy to use. This is a great place to dip your toe into the Latin and Greek pool, especially if you’ve already completed the short two-unit Latin course on Duolingo. Thanks to the developer for making this free! ### 5/5 — I am so glad I found this! *2025-01-25* I have been loving this app and highly recommend it for daily simple practice.
