When used with the current version of iOS(17.1.2) on my iPhone 13 Pro, it is only partially functional. For example, it will recognize that I have put a glass of ice on the scale, but it will not recognize the pouring of any ingredients. Works fine on my old iPad mini (2nd gen) with iOS 12.5.7, just not on devices with current iOS. I suppose it’s possible it’s an issue with using the lightning > headphone dongle? Or it may just need updating for compatibility with the current iOS. Update: Just tried with 17.1.2 on my regular iPad and it works fine, don’t appears to be an issue when using the Lightning to headphone adapter on devices without a headphone jack. ### 2/5 — Clunky app that doesn’t update frequently *2023-01-16, version 8.0.5* I’ve had Perfect Drink for a few years now and at first it seems great, but it’s so finicky. I use the scale exclusively as a kitchen scale but the most annoying thing is that occasionally the Bluetooth tries to connect and you can’t stop it. But the app. It hasn’t gotten new recipes in years and adding new recipes is a real challenge. I use the Paprika app for cooking and loading recipes is a breeze. This though has no real way to import recipes. It’s a super manual process despite the number of actions taken to build a cocktail being super simple typically. There should be a way for me to import recipes from websites and have the actions be auto generated by the app. ### 2/5 — It could be better *2022-08-19, version 8.0.5* The best thing about app that is free. But design is horrible like came from 1990. Also it a base thing for a cocktail app to search recipe with different filters. And it will be great if you add more recipes. There’s a baking app you can also use the scales for. Easy to use and solves the age old problem of never getting the same cocktail twice. ### 5/5 — Cocktails. Yeah *2020-07-11, version 6.5.5* A free app that works. I don’t use a scale to make drinks. I’ve several cocktail apps on my phone but this is the best. Only downside is that I wish the measurements were in shot sizes but that’s a small niggle. I have added my own recipes and also tweeted a few to my own tastes. I’ve not made a bad cocktail using this app. Well recommended. ### 5/5 — Works perfectly every time! *2020-05-20, version 6.5.5* Am a great fan -simple, intuitive, interactive, and have never had a single issue. I especially like the ‘in cabinet’ capability, and the ability to ‘re-configure’ a cocktail if you over pour one ingredient on the scales. I was given this for Christmas, ..and use it every single Fri/Sat/Sun! For example, it still uses the outdated iOS background that is not compatible with iPhone X and above that makes it look like it’s from 2014. Also, I tend to get stuck in keyboard functions without being able to go back. Creating new drinks is just painful. My profile never seems to load. Finally came across this app because of its unique scale that works with it and I downloaded the app while I wait for my scale to come. Adding recipes was easy and intuitive, and the interface is clean and straightforward. A lot of other apps had the wrong measurement for simple cocktails this one is spot on for everyone that I’ve looked at! It’s great if you are a beginner or a bartender trying to find new ideas. The ability to make your own cocktail is a little difficult at first but after some messing around it’s easy and you can get very detailed in how to build the cocktail. I have some devices on an older version of the app and they still work with the scale. Don’t bother contacting their “support” team as you won’t get a response. It’s a shame because this was, and still could be a good product, but it has been broken by a bad software release which clearly wasn’t QA’d properly. Update 16/12/2021 Just got a response from the developers to say they’ve fixed the problem with the older wired scales. I’ve tested v8.03 and am pleased to say it works again. I’m therefore adjusting my score back to 5 stars. I have to say, I understand you cannot offer technical support for your older products forever, but not offering support is not the same thing as bricking the scale with a bad software update. Especially as we are unable to purchase the Bluetooth version of your scale in the UK.
