Perfect Point — The Essential Tool for Race Course Setup

Perfect Point is built for race officers and course teams who need to place buoys accurately in sailing competitions. It turns your iPhone into a precise positioning instrument, so every mark sits exactly where the race plan says it should.

• Multi-buoy management – save, name, edit and switch between every mark of the course in one tap
• Accurate placement – live GPS bearing and distance to the active buoy, with optional inverse direction for run-backs
• On-the-water position editor – big-button numeric keypad in DD, DM or DMS, made to be used on a moving RIB
• Wind & current alignment – real-time true wind (TWD/TWS) and apparent wind from a Calypso Ultrasonic meter, with GPS course / drift correction
• Real-time adjustments – update a mark's coordinates from your current GPS in a single tap
• Start-line awareness – heading or wind on top, marks centered, big compass at the bottom for instant orientation
• Share marks as plain text (name + coordinates) with the rest of the committee
• Works without a wind meter too – falls back to a large GPS heading display
• Apple Watch companion for wrist-side wind and compass

Please note: full wind functionality requires the Calypso Ultrasonic Wind Meter. An optional WT9011DCL Bluetooth compass adds tilt-compensated heading.

• New map view: see your course, marks, position and heading at a glance — tap a mark to activate it.
• Set marks by bearing and distance from another waypoint, just like the race committee calls it.
• Wind shift? Enter the new bearing once and the derived marks rotate with it — distances stay the same.
• Re-ping your starting point and calculated marks move along automatically.
• Simpler compass switch and a fix for the wind graph slowing down over time.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-30

• New "Values" display mode on Apple Watch — switch between the classic compass and a large, easy-to-read digital readout showing True Wind Speed and Direction, plus bearing and distance to your waypoint.
• Choose your preferred watch layout (Compass or Values) right from the watch's settings.
• Crisp LCD-style digits on the watch, matching the iPhone instruments.
• Bigger, clearer compass on Apple Watch, now filling the full screen.
• Demo mode now draws on the wind graph just like live data, so you can preview trends without a sensor connected.
• Various stability and performance improvements.

Wind Trend Graph
• Live graph of wind speed and direction over time
• Configurable window: 1, 5, 10 or 30 minutes
• Shows average speed and average direction over the window
• Swipe horizontally on the main view to toggle between compass and graph

Compass (WT9011DCL)
• New Compass Settings page with live status, battery, and temperature
• Magnetic calibration: Start / Stop directly from the app
• "Set Current Heading as Zero" / "Reset Level" for quick alignment
• "Use Magnetic Compass" toggle moved here for easier access
• More accurate battery percentage (now matches the WitMotion app)
• More reliable battery updates right after connecting

Waypoints
• Renamed "Marker Settings" to "Waypoint Settings"
• New "Default Inverse Direction" setting — new waypoints inherit this flag

Wind Graph Fixes
• Average speed/direction now computed over raw samples (no bias from
  downsampling), so the displayed AVG matches what you see in the graph
• Changing the window now resets history for clean, accurate averaging

• Multiple waypoints — save, name, and switch between several markers
• New waypoint manager: tap the compass (or the blue flag) to add, rename, edit position, set active, or delete waypoints
• Editable position with a big-button numeric keypad designed for use on a moving boat (DD / DM / DMS)
• Per-waypoint Inverse Direction option (shows " INV" on the bearing)
• Share waypoint as plain text (name + latitude + longitude)
• New "Hide TWD" setting — enlarges TWS and frees up screen space for multiple waypoints
• Smarter main layout: TWS/HDG on top, waypoints centered, compass pinned to the bottom
• When no wind meter is configured, the main display now shows a large heading (HDG) instead
• Distance unit (m/km vs Nm) and coordinate format moved into the waypoint manager
