Now time to potty train my 2nd which means redownloading but it won’t let me as it is too out of date. Please update this app so I can use it for my last 2 babies! ### 4/5 — Great App for Potty Training - but needs update *2022-05-09, version 3.0.0* I loved this app while potty training my daughter, but now I’ve tried to access it again to use with my son, and the app won’t open. Needs an update to work with the current IOS. My son has special needs so being on time is essential and the reminders are great. It is not super flashy but gets the job done! Thank you. ### 4/5 — Simple and useful - for the parents! *2018-08-09, version 3.0.0* My 3 year old autistic child is not talking yet so toilet training, despite going very well so far, has additional challenges to that of training a mainstream child. All I needed was somewhere to record the “when and what”, this does exactly that. It’s not slick or polished but it is functional for parents, not children! My child doesn’t respond to reward charts etc and I’m not a big fan of screens (unless I need 5 minutes for my own sanity) so it’s great that it’s designed for parents’ use. It’s a shame it’s not been optimised for the latest iOS update as that’d make it a lot clearer and easier to use. ### 4/5 — No frills *2018-07-11, version 3.0.0* It is a good no frills way to keep on schedule to “try and go” and track how often they really go. It is definitely a parent tool rather than some of the apps that seem to expect we hand kids the phone and they will be potty trained in 3 days. My biggest issue is that it doesn't save the alarm times. Just ok. I like the reminders and how you can adjust how often the alarm goes off. However, I HATE that you can not adjust the time the alarm will start. I've also had slight issues with the timing being off or automatically changing by an hour. I don't need a timer since I can use my phone, I don't need cheesy music and jingles, and I don't need cartoon characters. I just wanted something simple where I could record my daughter's potty successes and accidents. This provides that for me. ### 4/5 — Great, functional potty training app for parents! *2016-01-12, version 3.0.0* This is not a fun app for kids, but rather a practical potty tracking tool for parents. I love that I can see the exact time that my son went in the potty, attempted to go, or had an accident. The reminder alarms have been a lifesaver! My son calls it the "potty bell" and runs to the potty when he hears the sound. I don't mind that the graphics and design are lacking, since I use it for me, not to entertain my son. We use other iPad games and videos for that purpose. I still use a sticker chart for the wall for him, but this is a nice convenient way for me to keep track of his elimination schedule in more detail. I do wish there was an option to note naptime, bedtime, and meal times to better track his elimination patterns, though. Overall, this is the best potty training app in the App Store! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Update? *2021-11-29, version 3.0.0* So the app will never download so I delete it. Everytime I try and get another app it keeps popping up “perfect potty needs update” with the option to keep or delete the app. If I keep it, it will never fully download. If I delete it then it goes off of my homepage but everytime I try to download anything else it pops up again! ### 1/5 — I cant set a reminder for the morning . *2020-08-04, version 3.0.0* Idk i kept trying but it kept being set to PM. It’s very basic and crashes within a few clicks of the button. ### 1/5 — Me again! *2018-06-22, version 3.0.0* Also you have to at least update the settings to remember the reminders there no point in making a potty schedule if it’s all erased the next day no it’s not that hard to remember in general about what time their potty breaks were but sometimes even the best memories can be forgetful and would be more efficient if they could be reminded at the exact same time every single day especially with going number 2 your bowels develop a natural schedule and especially with boys disrupting it even the slightest can set you back! That was by far the hardest part was getting him to use the potty instead of going to a corner and doing it bc that was his routine and how he felt most comfortable so now that he’s finally transitioned I make sure he at least tries at the same time everyday and it’s starting to pay off bc he has went by himself on the potty everyday for the last 2 weeks he just likes privacy when doing it and don’t we all lol so once I got him to start using it he got comfortable and now uses it on his own bc we aren’t standing in there with him or telling him to go potty so keeping the same routine is imperative and it’s hard to do that when all your data is gone the next day so if you are serious about this app I’ve given you literally everything and idea you need to make an amazing app and make a whole heck of a lot of money if not maybe I should consider making one myself ### 1/5 — Not functional *2018-01-07, version 3.0.0* The app wouldn’t let me set any reminder times except for the defaults, therefore it was worthless. ### 1/5 — No Option of sharing or tracking *2017-08-29, version 3.0.0* This seems like a good app, but like other apps you can't export information to track progress or to see how one day compares to another. You also can't have a login that multiple users can see the same information. So when I log something my husband wouldn't be able to see the last time she went potty. The suggestion that was sent back to me from the developer was to screen shot and send it. Just the music playing is enough to alert my child that it’s time to potty (remember Pavlov’s dog?? 😁). The app doesn’t need graphics and “stickers” (as a previous poster commented). It meets our needs just the way it is, and I’ve even got grandma and the babysitter using it too. ### 5/5 — Just needed a tracker. *2019-05-29, version 3.0.0* I just needed a simple potty tracker for my special needs child and this is exactly what I needed. I don’t need anything fancy. Thankyou so much perfect potty ### 5/5 — Great! *2018-09-05, version 3.0.0* After about a week and a half, my 3yr old son was finally potty trained. He was used to pullups, which I'm told is a bad idea. He only liked to go while covered, rather than on the toilet. We went cold turkey, I put him in undies with diapers only for sleeping overnight. This app let me time his trips to the potty all day. Started with 30 minute intervals until he got better at holding it, kept adding 10mins until we reached 1.5 hrs. Kept him in sweatpants to help absorb occasional accidents. I noticed he did not like to go in his undies while he was close to people or out of the house. So instead of avoiding outings for fear of accidents away from home, I took him out more often. Out of his comfort zone, he showed more restraint. We actually never had an accident outside of the house. The app let me track his successes and failures, and helped to prove me wrong when I felt he was not making progress--this would have otherwise discouraged me. He did have fewer and fewer accidents as the days went by. I stopped rewarding him with sweets and tablet time, and stuck to just verbal praise and high fives. After about a week, I started to tell him to hurry up and go pee so we could go play. And found out he knew how to go on command. I would tell him when I had to go myself, and brought him with me so he would follow my example. Once we hit about the 9 day mark, he stopped having accidents, and would tell me when he had to go. Always expecting a smile and a high five as reward for going potty. He announces when he does it with pride now. Potty training was stressful at first. I dreaded it. But once I committed, using this app, it was very fulfilling to see him grow more disciplined. I was really proud. I donated to the developer. Hope my story helps others. And if the app works for you, I definitely recommend donating. I no longer need the app. It did its job well. The Perfect Potty timer is better than using a kitchen or oven time because the daycare child doesn't wonder if food is ready or it's a toilet reminder. Also, the Perfect Potty timer is better than using MY iPhone alarms which I use for other important reminders. I decided just today to get an app and buckle down because he does know when he needs to go and he knows how on his own. Using this app, he did not have 1 accident today and I managed to get him to keep his clothes on lol. I let him press the button to say he went potty and when we have resistance with him not wanting to sit down I tell him "no potty, no buttons" it did the trick every time!
