### 2/5 — Why must it be this bad?

*2025-07-07*

You can communicate, but there doesn't appear to be a way to specify which patients you want to create a thread for. So, you are constantly getting bombarded with messages about others' patients, and the only way to tell if the message applies to you or your patients is to read--all of them.

### 2/5 — Buggy App that is an intrusive necessity for hospital practice

*2025-06-20*

Messaging mostly works and is great for looping providers and admin into secure group chats that may have been initiated with fewer people.

The app is terrible in that you essentially give your personal cell phone number out to every single person working in the hospital. People call straight through the app with no regard for what you might be doing. You can only designate yourself as completely unavailable and get zero alerts or allow all of them, including direct calls (with no voicemail) while you are seeing patients or talking on the phone.

Also, for years, buggy alerts keep going off even after being read AND alerts go off with no messages present except they slowly appear after refreshing the list.

Constant chats at all hours of the day and night with users wanting instant physician access often with zero critical thinking prior to texting has truly changed medicine for the worse.

### 1/5 — Lame

*2025-01-08, version 5.0*

Lame name change. TelemedIQ was so good. Now I have to say “I’ll perfectserve you”. Nah. How am I supposed to tell a doctor “well I served you about it”

### 1/5 — Awful

*2024-12-09, version 4.13.3*

The functionality of this app would be acceptable for 15 years ago. I can’t believe the hospital actually purchased this for its providers.

### 1/5 — privacy

*2024-03-27, version 4.8.2*

why would an app thats supposed be hipaa then go and scrape your personal and professional data? we're forced to use this at my work. i never do on my phone because they dont seem to understand privacy. non of our IT guys use it - wonder why 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

### 1/5 — There’s no landscape mode - WHY???

*2023-11-03, version 4.7.1*

This is a proper iPad app - not an iPhone app scaled up - yet somehow it doesn’t support landscape mode. I’m using an iPad Pro with an Apple keyboard, and it is impossible for me to use this app if I want to TYPE WORDS INTO A MESSENGER. Way to flop the landing, devs.

### 2/5 — Only Portrait Orientation on an iPad

*2023-09-21, version 4.6.4*

Unable to use keyboard in landscape orientation on an iPad.

### 2/5 — Title next to name is NEEDED

*2023-09-12, version 4.6.3*

I’m a physician and this app is very difficult to use in the conversation tab. It would be very helpful if next to the receivers name of the message it said what their title is (RN, ENT MD, etc) because when there are many pages it’s very difficult to assess who is who. This has a huge impact on timely replies and overall patient care.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2022-11-27*

I’ve complained several times regarding the app crashing when receiving a phone call. I was told to disconnect from Wi-Fi which I have done. Still happens probably 7/10 phone calls. No fix. Happens on every phone I try. It’s infuriating waiting for staff to return a call after the initial disconnect and a huge wast of valuable time. I also do not like that I cannot see what time past phone calls occurred. The app is just junk overall. Needs a lot of work.

### 2/5 — Unsafely Slow

*2022-06-02*

I use Telmediq in the ICU setting. The process of sending a critical message to a Provider includes logging in, finding the patient, finding the HCP, and filling out about 6 sections of identifiers and subject lines to send a quick message. If you change the urgency from “general” to “high importance”, you lose your entire message and identifiers and have to start over.
Suggestions: Once the patient is selected, the user should not have to rewrite identifiers like MRN, birthday, patient’s name, or room number, as they are repetitive. The user should be able to change the message urgency without losing the original message.
I also have not been able to “join the care team”, and have opened 4 total tickets that have all been shortly closed without resolving the issue.
Overall, I find Telmediq to be unrealistic and far too time-consuming for use in the inpatient setting. Telmediq would be more safe and practical if the messaging system was significantly streamlined.

### 1/5 — If only the Trauma Surgeon got her alerts…

*2022-03-20, version 4.2.2*

That should pretty much say it all. For eight years, the obsolete pager was reliable to make sure I got the trauma activation at 3 o’clock in the morning when I’m on call. This app is a crap shoot. The other night I got some of my messages, but not all. Thankfully I was awake and kept looking for the trauma ETAs.

### 1/5 — Near Miss at my job…

*2022-02-02*

In general bc we cannot “copy paste” the MRN (or any part of a TelmedIQ message) we have to memorize the patient info to look it up into my HAIKU App quickly when trying to access info about a patient. As I’m sure you can understand it’s easiest to remember a name rather than the MRN.
Recently, I looked up the wrong patient info as there were 2 patients w same first and last name at hospital system who had active beds…it caused much confusion and could have resulted in delay of care for a patient. If we were allowed to “copy paste” the MRN this would have been prevented.

**Developer response:** We would love to assist you further, please reach out to our Support Team at 888.364.9305 or by email at Support@Telmediq.com

### 1/5 — Doesn’t push notifications on iPhone 13

*2022-01-07, version 4.2.0*

Please fix. App is not pushing notifications for new messages. The screen turns on but there is no notification icon showing on Lock Screen or Home Screen

### 1/5 — Health risk

*2022-01-03, version 4.2.0*

Not only is the app buggy and frustrating but it poses a risk to your health. DO NOT WEAR HEADPHONES with the app attached to your phone. The alert will scream into your ear, it is horribly ear piercing and startling. I have no doubt it can cause hearing damage, it is that bad. DEVELOPERS PLEASE ADDRESS THIS

### 1/5 — App keeps notifying me for messages that I’ve already read

*2021-12-07*

This app keeps notifying of a new message but when I look, there are no new messages. Today has been particularly bed s I’ve had alerts q15 minutes but the last message I’ve seen was over an hour ago

### 1/5 — Ruining medicine

*2021-07-09*

23 years in the profession. This app is ruining a job and profession that was mostly satisfying. Nearly constant “texting” with nurses and any random person that wants to get a hold of you. Every little “FYI” or non essential is sent and becomes a part of the record and a mini heart attack for the recipient. Pages used to be for important things. Not anymore. You should get this app if you want to be constantly glued to your phone and worn down to nothing. It’s soul crushing.

### 1/5 — The absolute worst app I have ever used.

*2021-05-13*

Only reason I still use this is because it is required for work. Crashes 99.9% of the time and only works for about a 10s time window in the 0.1% of times it does work. Have to delete and REDOWNLOAD the app every time I want to use it. Absolutely unusable.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t even open it

*2026-07-04, version 5.7.1*

Every time I try to open the app, it immediately crashes. Tried everything to make it work. Get it together guys

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-04-28, version 5.6.1*

Slow, glitchy

### 1/5 — Horrific app

*2026-03-14*

What is the purpose of going offline, setting up an auto response to call the answering service, and marking all messages as done if someone can still send a message or continue a conversation? My shift is over and we have proper coverage. What is the point of marking the message as done?

### 1/5 — Why must it be this bad?

*2026-03-12*

You can communicate, but there doesn't appear to be a way to specify which patients you want to create a thread for. So, you are constantly getting bombarded with messages about others' patients, and the only way to tell if the message applies to you or your patients is to read--all of them.

Also, the app randomly decides to stop alerting you of pages.

### 1/5 — Just gets worse

*2026-02-20, version 5.6*

Unreliable! Terrible support service.

### 1/5 — Gets worse with each update

*2025-10-20*

This app has never been great, but with every update, it seems to be getting worse, not better. The latest update sends SMS notifications, but the messages aren’t seen. Reloading the app fixes this problem intermittently, but not reliably. Can somebody implement quality control process for new releases of this app?

### 1/5 — Bad funtionality

*2025-10-20*

this app does not work well at all. Functionally it has many deficits. First is that the app can be open you will receive a new message notification, but then be unable to view it. You have to then completely close the app out and log back in by reopening the app in order for the new message to load to be visible. Secondly, even when you’ve read a message, it will notify you that you have an unread message later, even though you’ve already looked at the message. I have to use this for my employer, but if I had any other choice, I would try to find something different. It’s not a very user-friendly app

### 1/5 — Same old

*2025-04-08, version 5.2*

New name, same terrible glitchy app.

### 1/5 — Annoying to use

*2025-02-28, version 5.1.1*

This app always sends notifications of unread messages despite reading all my messages. This causes me to unnecessarily check my app many times in a day. The apple watch version of this app is even worse with notifications. If i check a message on my watch, that same message on my phone will still be “unread” which forces me to check my phone, which defeats the purpose of having an apple watch. PLEASE FIX THIS. It would also be nice to group texts by patient name on the main conversation tab. It would be nice to force people to use professional identifiers (MD, DO, PA, NP, RN, etc) and specialty (pediatrics, family med, gen surgery, etc) for more organization. I should get paid for these suggestions SMFH.

### 1/5 — Go back to TelMediq

*2025-01-09, version 5.0*

You didn’t think tank this new name enough

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works well

*2024-01-17*

We use this app for all our clinical communications. 99% of the time the app works well. It has issues if you are in an area with no WiFi or cellular signal. We’ve integrated it with our EMR and it make communication even easier as it’s done from patients chart.

### 5/5 — Amazing, game changing app!

*2019-06-14, version 3.17.1*

Telmediq is excellent and has dramatically improved our capabilities for communication between clinicians. The Telmediq team is great as well. They treat us as a true partner and not as another client.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2018-09-13, version 3.11.0*

No more waiting at the desk for a call back. Can often take care of patient requests or needs while in the room. Makes my day so much better.

### 5/5 — Best of the batch

*2018-05-03, version 3.8.2*

Best medical secure messaging application out there, hands down. Very customizable, can integrate with most emr and scheduling applications with ease. Good app, good support.

### 5/5 — Top Notch

*2018-01-03, version 3.6.0*

This is a great app and is VERY user friendly!

### 5/5 — Office Manager

*2013-03-20, version 1.2*

Awesome and a very easy system to use. Very practical for any type of business. It has saved us money and time. The tracking system is awesome being able to see what the other person has done has given our practice a sense of assurance that our messages are being addressed. The best part they have a great IT support system. I give it 10!! I would highly recommend it.

### 4/5 — Great but not perfect replacement

*2019-12-05*

Overall I think this app works as intended. Only issue I have is sometimes pages and no new message pops up. Other times won’t refresh messages...keep getting network error msg that drives me nuts. Granted it could be related to hospital WiFi/network issues but have cellular data...so why this happens IDK. Otherwise stable app that we are using in our practice with about 15 people.

### 3/5 — Weak functionality

*2022-12-19*

-Please allow providers to view in-app messages during an in-app phone call
-The auto reply rules I create for some reason don’t trigger if you have an existing thread and you turn your status to offline. Change this.
-This app destroys battery like no other if you have just a few voice-only conversations on the phone per day. Please make it less resource heavy. I have an iPhone <6mo old, no location services on, few background apps allowed to refresh, and running few apps at a time. It is not a symptom of my device.
-Good selection of ring tones, thank you for finally allowing dictation into the app on iOS 16.

### 3/5 — iPad app crashes

*2021-08-15, version 4.1.1*

The app works great on iPhone, but crashes on the iPad. Please fix it. Thanks.

### 3/5 — Apple CarPlay compatibility

*2021-04-23*

My phone will not alert me of a new message when my phone is connected via Apple CarPlay. I will often find messages once I reach my destination. It would be nice if I could hear the Telmediq notification either through my phone or through car speakers
