## What is Perioperative Risk Calculator?

This calculator enables clinicians to enter clinical data and generate risk estimations based on the Parsimonious NELA (the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit) risk calculator, a widely used scoring tools used to risk assess patients for emergency laparotomy.

Risk prediction is recommended clinical best practice and PoRC: Perioperative Risk Calculator allows you to undertake this quickly and easily.  As an app, it does not require an internet connection and stores no personal or patient information.

The internal algorithm is developed an maintained by the NELA project team at nela.org.uk
