Not totally useless, but not worth the $60 subscription price. I have had some minor successes using Permission Slip, but unfortunately it falls short of what's intended in today's cavalier regulatory environment. The majority of our hundreds of requests had no response (understandable, not Permission Slip's fault, our flaccid congress hasn't any spine to stand up to write or give teeth enforce any laws here). Another minority of requests came back successfully acknowledged and acted upon (great). Another large minority came back with 'action required' in the app, which almost always means 'X sleazy data grubber has acknowledged the request and has sent you a sketchy, vague email that definitely went to your spam email inbox a month ago and has an expired link that you were supposed to click on to acknowledge this reasonable opt out request.' One or two of these is one thing, 80+ "action required" statuses like that is just impossible. Sorry, Permission Slip is just unable to do this and thus fails to really achieve its stated goals. Idk that it's worth it anymore in a world where any corporate overlord can mug you for data and no one is going to do anything about it. There is no power to enforce here, these companies need to be sued for *TRILLIONS* of dollars and their management jailed 25 to life. Maybe then we would finally see change here, until then I'm not paying for this app. ### 2/5 — Will not stay logged in *2025-06-14, version 3.0.0* A good effort but seems worse over time. Every time I open the app I’m logged out. I use “Sign in with Apple” and suspect they don’t like this, or possibly some tracking protection on my network. Either way it’s a poor experience. And as others have said, if you use multiple address or email addresses you must expose them all in every request. Not great. ### 2/5 — Unable to report a company *2025-01-28, version 2.0.11* Great idea, but I question if it will really work. Looking to request that they add a data broker that they are missing. I am able to fill out the form, but the app will not let me submit it. ### 1/5 — Not ipad friendly *2024-11-30, version 2.0.10* Not everyone has all their passwords and logins on an iphone and not everyone has a cell phone but still has internet access and a tablet. ### 2/5 — Kind of disappointing *2024-10-20, version 2.0.6* This is a great concept. Execution leaves much to be desired. I was able to send out a handful of requests before it ran out of suggestions. Two granted, one denied, the rest perpetually “under review”. Neither great nor awful, but there’s no way I would pay $60 per year or $20 per month(!) for the “plus” version after the lackluster performance of the base version. ### 1/5 — Changes *2024-10-11, version 2.0.6* And without warning, we now have to pay for it. I guess it’s not enough that I subscribe to consumer reports which has proven to be quite useless in the last year or so. I am not going to subscribe to yet another app or service. But soon I realized that all it’s just useless app containing a contact list for submitting opt out request and do not sell requests. The user has to submit the request themselves, and include a written, hard copy request in some cases. Hopefully, CR will spend some $$$ on programmers to make it functional. When they do, I will reinstall;it. In the interim, I’ll just use the contact info on the websites to submit my request and save my iPad’s disc space for apps that actually perform the task they are supposed to perform. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time *2024-08-08, version 2.0.2* I only found one company I deal with on the list of companies the app will contact for you. For all others they show you how to send in your own request. You will need to send in a different request for every company you want to stop selling your info., etc. Setting up an account for Permission Slip was a complete waste of time. ### 3/5 — Not life changing *2024-08-05, version 2.0.1* I thought the entire premise would be that the app would do all the work for you. Not the case in over 95 percent of companies listed that I have accounts with right now. If you would like to opt out, here is a link. Most of my requests either went unanswered or were denied. Any of the data aggregators such as Lexus Nexus, just simply reject the request saying they need more info or you have to reply to an email to confirm it’s you or just simply deny the request. Tracking what the app has done and what did work is confusing. And the gotcha is the number of specific requests is limited. I think you may have to pay for additional requests above the quota? Not sure on that. Overall just a bad experience with the app. But give it a trial effort like I did and don’t renew if you are unsatisfied. ### 1/5 — DeleteMe takes you hostage *2026-07-22, version 3.9.1* When I got the notification that the app was being bought out by deleteme, I didn’t want my data transferred to yet another entity, so I deleted my account. DeleteMe then contacted every data broker I’d filed requests with, years before, to tell them to cancel my deletion requests, and giving them back my information. They give your data to marketing companies and other assorted data collectors. My issue is who may be on the other end. Are they selling a bill of goods? Are they truthful and reliable? I cannot talk to anyone about this extra charge We have been working on this. The permission Slip people have worked to help me find the answer that they did not charge more than the $59.99. I paid with Apple Pay and they sent me a statement that included other subscriptions but did not list them. I thought it was all charged by PS. They also went through the time to go through the terms and conditions of these companies, so you know exactly what data can be collected from you. I know it works because occasionally I get a reply email from whatever company had my data! ### 5/5 — Great product, but one odd thing *2024-02-28, version 1.3.0* I enjoyed this app/service, and the fact that there’s no charge makes it a great place to start taking back some of your privacy. One odd thing I just noticed: I got a feedback request email from the app. When I clicked to give feedback, it took me to a Google Docs form. Google? I mean, data mining is kind of a thing everywhere, but isn’t the purpose of this app to encourage people to remove their data from organizations that have less than stellar privacy protections? ### 5/5 — Fabulous app! *2024-02-22, version 1.3.0* This is such a handy app especially since you can’t even explore a website without adding your email!!
