Used to use voice mode for voice interaction while I did other things. New update is horrible. Voices are irritating in tone/pitch and selecting other voices doesn't help. It also constantly interrupts when you are speaking. How did this make it through testing? ### 4/5 — Glitches and Thoughts *2026-08-25, version 26.32.0* I would give this app five stars for the built-in browser for financials, which has come in much luck, however as somebody with dyslexia and who likes to talk in order to think, I often use the microphone feature or the dictation feature. Recently when trying to get it to read back to me, it will get about a quarter away through a response, reading back and shut itself off and when I go to restart it, it’ll start back over and shut off at the exact same place, which is really starting to get annoying cause then I have to figure out where it stopped and attempt to read it, which they don’t have dyslexia, friendly font. So because of this, I can’t give it five stars however once they get this glitch or whatever it’s been going on with it lately fixed then maybe it would be five stars in my opinion. It’s also been great for the school that I’m doing and kind of acting as like a tutor love how you could tweak what it goals are in certain things however it almost over commits to whatever you tell it to do in like certain projects you have set up. I set him a task - he failed the task. His answers based on my data were not correct so I asked a more trusted AI to teach him and put him on the right path. He took this onboard and looked again at the task I had set. He provided his report to this task which was analysed against a report I had already secured months ago from a qualified human. Perplexity’s report was in-depth and online with my report. He had learned and the data provided helped me do what I needed to do. Very well done. ### 5/5 — From a 65 year old perspective *2026-08-23, version 26.32.0* I am uncertain when I installed Perplexity on my phone. I find myself using it more and more every day. Of course I used to use the regular search engines. I realized the value of Perplexity recently on a raw material research project I was doing at work. In this project I had to find domestic sources for raw materials for a project where I was interacting with a group out of Brussels, Belgium. Although the information was not 100% accurate, overall, it did have a very high degree of accuracy. If I had to guess it was probably in the mid 90s. ### 2/5 — Outputs are great the issue is with what they offer or don’t offer. *2026-08-23, version 26.32.0* It seems odd that when using a max option model when there is a supposed “technical issue” they revert you to the cheapest model. While max gives you coverage of the latest models, you aren’t getting the best version of that model, and if we are they aren’t transparent about it. If they are charge you money to buy credits to use the computer function there needs to be more honesty and account ability otherwise it’s black hole for money in their favour. ### 5/5 — What’s Google? *2026-08-23, version 26.32.0* This is by far the best search engine running. I use Perplexity for any and all questions. And absolutely no clue I received a usage-limit message. We barely chat at all (thank God). It claimed or implied it could diagnose account-level limits without access to subscription, usage, or cross-chat history. It should clearly state its visibility limits immediately and give direct, consistent answers. More to the point, it should be able to remember ANYTHING we did together. Do yourself a favor and get ChatGPT because for the same $200 that one is so much more superior it makes me question who actually programs this thing. Maddening. ### 1/5 — Overall computing power and ability to fact check and give you correct answers *2026-08-24, version 26.32.0* I’m going to make it short because no one likes to read this app continues to withhold information from me, I ask it simple question and then when it gets it wrong and I call them out, it tells me that it has the right information before hand, not only does it withhold the information it takes the step to try and cover its tracks 😂 the app has done nothing but give me complete wrong answers when I give it the most simple prompt, I asked it to fact check if my laptop could run with this certain mod pack and it said most definitely I check it, it can’t run at all, it said that it “accidentally” gave me the wrong answer and also says it prefers to give me an answer that appeals to me instead of a correct answer ### 1/5 — Plus required *2026-08-24, version 26.32.0* Without plus it’s a tease. ### 1/5 — It’s not very good anymore *2026-08-24, version 26.32.0* Until a few weeks ago I used Perplexity. Especially the voice, I liked the voices and particularly that it was bilingual. And identified the language automatically (English and Spanish). Now it is fixed on English and no auto detect.
