I would give this game 5 stars, however, I don’t understand why after paying for a game, I’m still seeing ads?? That has never happened before. The game itself is well-done so far. I really would like to know why I’m having to sit through ads though….

As implied in the title, this is an excellent puzzle adventure, nuanced and devious. Utilizing myth as a component of its mechanics is unique and, subsequently, logically implemented- by playing as Persephone, goddess of both the Underworld and fertility (ie. rebirth) you must manipulate and reuse her incarnations in order to progress. Anyone who questions the morality of this in abstractly written reviews seemingly misses the point.

結論から言うと私はハマれませんでした。
淡々とこなすトライアンドエラー系で、ギミックを解いてステージを制圧する達成感より、生々しい主人公の死体があちこちに散らばるビジュアルに耐えられず回数重ねる毎に疲れてしまいました。
丁寧に作られているなとは思います。
その分、ステージクリア毎に世界観やストーリーの解放等のサブコンテンツがあれば、消費系パズルでももう少しハマれたかも。

This is a very enjoyable game, visually and content wise. Excellent value for money. I’ve enjoyed all the challenges of this game but wish there was some help. I’m now completely stuck on Tale of Demeter the final secret level and am beginning to think there is some error as I cannot see how it can possibly be done. After getting this far it’s frustrating to not finish!

I think this is a wonderful puzzle game. It really makes me think it through before making that first move. Nice to see not every developer is making pay to play games.

The last level of Demeter is ridiculous and completely unplayable, even with watching the walk through. This one level took a star off for me. Too bad. Up to then it really was a good game.

というか答えを早送りで見れる。
正直なぜ今までなかった感はある。今までは攻略情報もネットになかったから、ほぼ自力で難解なパズルを解いていた。あと隠しステージはヒントが見れないから注意。
今から始めようとする人に言っておくと、このパズルゲームはアプリストア内でもトップレベルで難しいです。面白そうだし暇つぶしに…とか安易な気持ちで挑むことはお勧めできません。

(追記)
作成者さん曰く、一つ戻るボタンについては故意的に実装しないようにしているそうです。その理由が個人的に納得のいくものだったので、評価を+1しました。
この達成感こそがペルセポネだよねって。

I think this is an interesting game, but there are some inconveniences. I want you to implement a back button. If it is done, I think it should be evaluated. I will be hoping from you.

Thank you for answering my request.  I was convinced of your opinion. This game is very difficult, but it is also a good point. I know the sense of accomplishment when cleared difficult stage is worth the effort.
There is no dissatisfaction with the current level.

日本語で返事したいんですが、なかなか難しくて、英語にしますね。
About the back button, it makes probably half a year we think about it, and try to avoid it, because once we allow the player to come back once he makes a mistake, we might loose what makes Persephone so special.
We fully understand your feeling though, specially with the box put in the corner for exemple. But instead of adding another mechanic, we prefer to think about changing some levels designs. A great little jewel of a game. Great concept and good puzzles- definitely worth the money. Same idea as Lara Croft Go, but with some really fun twists.
My only issue was that I had some levels that I couldn’t access. There were some blank boxes on the level menu that I couldn’t get to, even though I had beaten the levels before them, and I could never figure out why I had dots on some levels of worlds but not others. The mystery is driving me nuts, so please address this, devs!
Update:Where is Demeter’s Dream? I cannot for the life of me find the update! I really want to play it but updating the app didn’t show it. help!
And another update: Thanks so much! Happily playing Demeter’s Dream! You guys rock- although that was seriously hard to find.
And another update: it says there are new levels, but again I can’t find them! I’ve completed all levels, but no new levels anywhere! HELP!

The last level on world three is un-passable Please fix this issue I’m loving the game so far but I think this is a glitch as all the videos I’ve looked at are very slightly different

Really loved the game so far, but I’m super stuck on the last level of world 3, I’ve looked through tons of video walkthroughs and only one other person has mentioned this different version that adds an extra ice brick and basically makes it impossible to solve, the way everyone else can solve the original/better version of the level! 
Would really appreciate some help or maybe an update to fix the level as I would really love to continue playing the game!!

Why are you putting ads in a paid for app! That’s the gig. You pay so you don’t have r\to put up with ads. The people that don’t pay get ads. Period. What are you thinking!? This is the first game or app I’ve ever come across to do this that does not have a remove ads function. Shame on you!

This used to be my favorite puzzle but now the game I PAID for includes ads. What’s the point of paying for a game to constantly be disturbed with ads. I never thought I’d write a bad review for this game as it is enjoyable but the developers decision to include ads in a paid game just makes it seem like the don’t care about providing a quality game experience and only care about money. I really hope this changes. Will be deleting the game until it does.

Basically speaking, i dislike, or i hate the idea in this game that you need to kill yourself and make your 3 dead bodies to pass levels. Also the BGM sounds very very strange too, with the body idea.

I don’t think this kind of “Killing yourself and use your own body(that means you are immortal somehow) is a very balanced or psychologically healthy or appropriate idea for people especially the underaged kids or teens.

As a normal adult, I cannot accept it, the body thing.

This was a real noodle scratcher at times, seems impossible at times and you can beat yourself up for feeling like an idiot.
Gotta push on though and when you get used to the fact you have to sacrifice your life to move it along to open the gates and bridges, you start seeing what they want you to do. Good graphics and sound, really annoyingly well thought out puzzles. Well done!

Update — I am stuck and can’t find the hidden passages in Demeter. I’m sure it’s there somewhere! I wish there was a walkthrough for the higher levels. I have been trying for quite sometime to find how to get to the third game. Thanks!

some of the challenges being wickedly difficult. I love there is an in-game walkthrough. Although I could use an ‘undo last move’ on some. It’s Fun— I thought I’d finished the game once, then realized I had more to do And a second time.. same thing. Very clever.

True to its mythical origins, this game plays with death. Each level takes logic and creativity and sacrifice. Persephone, in this game and in the original mythology reminds me that in life and in love, parts of us die along the way to make the journey possible.

完全版リリース後に追記です。
犬達が攻撃してくる隠しステージ、ずっとやってますがどうしても分かりません。3体をボタンに配置はなんとか出来たけど、さらに1体を石像にしなければ進めなくないですか⁈ああ、発想の転換が必要なんだろうけど、どう〜しても分かりません！降参です。このステージにもヒント（というか正解）ください！お願いします…！！

I couldn’t put it down once I started and kept going back whenever I could spare a few minutes. Difficulty is on a gradient and and requires an analysis of each new level especially if you want to get the most out of it😊🙏 All in all a really great game congratulations to the devs on producing something so unique and challenging.

Persephone is a great little game, gets you thinking but not too hard. Then, when you finish, there’s a whole new game - Demeter! Same gameplay but much harder plus lots of new game dynamics. Hope there are more levels - super satisfying game!
