## What is PersonalMap Journal?

You remember the place. You just can't remember when you were there.

PersonalMap quietly records the places you stop, using the low-power location signals your iPhone already produces. Every day becomes a page: a map of where you went, the stops you made, that day's photos, and your notes. Ask "when was I here?" about any place and get an answer.

• Automatic visit recording, with no limits
• Your last 7 days, in full detail
• Notes on a day or pinned to a spot on the route — typed or spoken

• Your whole history, however far back it goes
• Search everything — places, notes, dates
• Insights: countries and cities visited, the places you return to, and what you were doing on this day years ago
• Trip mode: precise, temporary route recording for a hike or a day out, stopping automatically after 4 hours. Can be started from Apple Watch.
• That day's photos beside your visits, shown live from your library — nothing is ever copied
• Bring in your past: Google Timeline (JSON), photo EXIF locations, GPX files
• Look Around at the places you stopped, satellite and hybrid maps, visit editing

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. PersonalMap relies on low-power location signals rather than continuous GPS, except in Trip mode, which you start yourself and which stops on its own.
