## What is PescaBite?

Know what's biting before you go. PescaBite is an independent app, NOT affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency.

PescaBite combines real-time data from USGS river gauges, NOAA weather stations, tide predictions, and state wildlife agencies into a single bite score for every fishing spot. Updated every 30 minutes, the score tells you which spots are hot right now and which ones to skip. No guesswork, no crowdsourced reports, no spot burning.

BITE SCORE INTELLIGENCE
Every waterbody gets a 0-100 bite score based on up to 10 environmental factors: water temperature, barometric pressure, flow rate, solunar phase, recent fish stocking, time of day, wind, cloud cover, precipitation, and tides. Three scoring profiles (rivers, lakes, tidal) ensure accuracy for every type of water.

420 SPOTS ACROSS ALL 50 STATES
Fish smarter in every state, from Catskill trout streams to Lake Guntersville's grass beds, Lake Texoma's stripers, the Gulf and Atlantic inshore, the Pacific coast, Alaska's Resurrection Bay, and Hawaii's reef and bluewater. Every spot has verified regulations, bite scores, and local resources.

WATER TEMPERATURE DATA
Bite scores use water temperature wherever it is available, sourced from USGS gauges, NOAA tide stations, same-watershed proxies, or historical baselines.

WHAT TO BRING
Condition-aware gear recommendations that respect local regulations. If a stream is artificial-lures-only, you won't see worm suggestions. Adapts to water temperature, flow conditions, and clarity.

STATE REGULATIONS, OFFLINE
Season dates, size limits, bag limits, and gear restrictions for all 50 states. Sourced from official wildlife agencies. Works without cell signal.

PRIVATE CATCH LOG
Log your catches with species, size, weight, bait, photo, and location. Instant legal size check tells you if your fish is a keeper. Your data is private: never shared, never visible to other users, never sold.

EXPLORE AND DISCOVER
Browse 420 waterbodies by spot, by species, near you, or favorites. 104 fish species with photos and how-to-catch videos. 594 boat launches, 444 tackle shops, and 210 charters and guides with one-tap directions.

BEST FISHING TIMES
Dawn and dusk times, solunar major and minor periods, and tide schedules for every spot.

ENGLISH AND SPANISH
Full app translation. Auto-detects your phone language.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.9 — 2026-10-27

v1.6.9: clearer regulations, four new waters.

- Trout caught in season on six New York stocked streams, including Catharine Creek, now show the in-season limit instead of "Catch & release only".
- Protected slots read as a range you must release. On the New River in Virginia, bass show "Protected slot: Release 14-22"".
- Indian River Lagoon snook can be kept in two seasons a year. A catch is now judged on the season that covers its date.
- A water's banned species share one warning line, such as "No fishing for Lake Sturgeon" on Saginaw Bay, so its other rules stay in view.
- New in West Virginia: the Kanawha River above and below Winfield Dam, the Gauley River below Summersville Dam, and the Greenbrier River.
- VoiceOver now reaches the list of spots under the map.
- Changing the text size while reading regulations no longer cuts the text off.

### 1.6.8 — 2026-09-28

v1.6.8: try Pro free, and keep everything when you sign up.

- After setup you can see what Pro adds, with a 7-day free trial if your account is eligible. Bite scores, regulations and your private catch log stay free.
- Signing in with Apple, Google or email now keeps what you already saved: catches, favourites, home state and Pro.
- After your first catch or favourite we offer to back up your log. "Not now" is always there.
- Fixed: a photo's date could set the wrong catch date.
- Fixed on Android: the camera could stop working after plugging in a dock or changing displays.
- The catch log CSV export now includes the weather conditions.

### 1.6.7 — 2026-09-24

v1.6.7: better fish ID, better search, and corrected rules.

- Fish ID now recognises every species the app carries. It no longer names a similar fish when it is unsure.
- Search handles longer phrases, so a water you typed in full no longer comes back empty.
- Fixed: some synced catch photos saved a path that only worked on the phone that took them.
- Fixed: where a rule for your species and a general rule both applied, the general one could win and show the wrong limit.
- Regulations corrected against the agencies for Kensico, Shark River, the Allegheny in New York, Ken Lockwood Gorge, the Housatonic, Bull Shoals, Ouachita and Norfork.
- Map clusters now read "2 spots" instead of a bare number that looked like a bite score.
- Catch cards show wind and humidity from the moment of the catch, and an estimated weight is labelled as an estimate and clears when you type your own.
- Black Crappie now shows a black crappie.

### 1.6.6 — 2026-09-01

v1.6.6: the catch log now shows the conditions it records.

- New catches show the bite score, 3h pressure change and air temperature they were caught in, plus water temperature where there is a gauge.
- Conditions save on every catch now, not just photo-identified ones. Water temperature saves even with no signal.
- Catches logged long after the fact no longer show current conditions as if they were from the moment you caught it.
- Fixed: editing a catch no longer clears its saved weather.

### 1.6.5 — 2026-08-30

v1.6.5: your catch log remembers the conditions.

- NEW: every catch now saves the water temperature, bite score and 3-hour pressure change from the moment you caught it. It works with no signal, so a catch logged deep in a canyon keeps the same detail as one logged at the boat ramp.
- Regulation screens name the agency the rules were checked against, and when.
- Fixed: lakes no longer show a flow reading of 0 CFS.
- Season rules keep their season type when you are offline.

This update also brings iPhone up to date with v1.6.4, which shipped on Android only:

- NEW: show or hide your password with a tap on the sign-in screen.
- Fixed: the catch form could get stuck after being swiped away; closing it now always works.
- Push notification setup retries automatically on weak connections.
- Offline sync is steadier when the app returns to the foreground.
- Corrected map attribution and coverage wording, plus a font problem that could close the app.
