### 5/5 — Easy tracker

*2026-08-04*

This helps me track my dogs progress during his weight loss journey

### 1/5 — Another junk app

*2026-07-21*

Have been trying to find a good app to track my dog’s nutrition, let me save you some time, this is NOT it. Seems like a poorly vibe coded mess, crashes constantly and is difficult to use. Don’t waste your time.

Also makes claims about data privacy, and yet the first thing I see when I open the app is the dreaded “app is asking to track you” pop up.

**Developer response:** Hello Molly,
Thank you for the honest feedback.

I'm sorry the app wasted your time.
Here's where things stand:

The crash on launch — I can see that we had 2 crashes in the past 3 months, I tracked down a potential bug that could cause crashes and fixed it in the latest update.

On usability, I tried to make the app pretty simple and straightforward, I'm curious to what would have made the app difficult for you to use. In the next update I will be including proper support for larger text sizes.

And on the privacy point — that "asking to track you" prompt came from an analytics tool that showed metrics such as how many people were installing the app. It was never collecting or selling your personal information. But you're completely right that it contradicted the privacy promise and had no place in a pet nutrition app. I've removed that tool entirely — there's no
tracking prompt anymore, and no third-party tracking at all.

I build this on my own, and blunt feedback like yours is how it gets better. If you're ever willing to give the update a try I'd love to know if it holds up — and if anything's still off, you can reach me directly at Support@petainutritiontracker.com

### 1/5 — Not as expected

*2026-05-01*

I started using this app specifically for the food scanning and logging features, but so far, it’s been really disappointing. The barcode scanner just doesn’t work for me, no matter how I try. And when I search for foods, the results aren’t detailed or accurate—they all seem to show the same generic calorie count, regardless of the specific food I enter. On top of that, I’ve noticed that the templates I create can’t be shared across to other animals, which makes things even less convenient. Honestly, I’m frustrated and feel like my subscription wasn’t worth it. Is there any way to fix these issues?

**Developer response:** Hi CNM K,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this detailed feedback—it's incredibly valuable to us.

I'm truly sorry the app hasn't met your expectations, especially with the features that drew you in. You're absolutely right to be frustrated, and I want you to know we're actively working on these exact issues:

🔍 Barcode Scanner: We're rebuilding this from the ground up to improve accuracy and reliability. This is our top priority.

🥘 Food Search: Expanding our database with more detailed nutritional data and pet-specific foods is in active development.

📋 Template Sharing: You've identified a critical missing feature—we're adding cross-pet template sharing in our next update.

Your subscription matters to us. Please email us directly at Support@petainutritiontracker.com so we can:
1. Understand exactly which foods/barcodes aren't working
2. Make this right for you

We built this app for pet parents like you, and we won't rest until it delivers on its promise.

Thank you for giving us the chance to improve.

Founder, Pet AI

Update May 20th:
Hi CNM K — thanks for the detailed feedback, it directly drove this update. We rebuilt the barcode scanner end-to-end (new permission handling, auto-detect, scanner timeouts), added hundreds of pet food UPCs to the database with brand-specific nutrition values, and the AI estimator no longer falls back to identical generic values for every product. We also added the missing feature you called out — meal templates can now be shared across all your pets via a new "Shared Library" section, or duplicated to a specific pet. And if a bag still isn't recognized, you can now identify it by photographing the Guaranteed Analysis label. We'd love a second look when you have a moment.

We read every review — keep it coming.

### 1.6 — 2026-07-24

Thanks for all the feedback — this update is focused on fixing what you told us was broken.

• Fixed the crash some of you hit right on launch.
• Barcode scanning is more reliable, and scanned foods now show
nutrition specific to that product instead of a generic estimate.
• Food search returns accurate, brand-specific calories and macros —
no more identical numbers for every food.
• Every food now shows where its data came from (Verified,
Estimated, or AI Estimated) so you know how much to trust it.
• Meal templates can now be shared across all your pets, or copied
  to a specific pet.
• Removed all third-party analytics and tracking. The app no longer
  tracks you.
• Speed and stability improvements throughout.

Keep the feedback coming — we're reading every review.

### 1.5.4 — 2026-06-10

Various bug fixes

### 1.5.3 — 2026-05-20

Big update focused on accuracy and what you've been asking for:

Barcode scanner overhaul. New permission flow with a clear "Open Settings" path if camera access is denied, auto-detection so you don't have to tap on the code, and a 25-second timeout so the spinner never hangs forever.
Way more accurate food results. Added hundreds of new pet food UPCs (Purina, Hill's, Blue Buffalo, Iams, Pedigree and more) and a smarter AI estimator that no longer falls back to identical generic values for every product. Every result now shows a "Verified", "Estimated", or "AI Estimated" badge so you know what you're looking at.
Identify any bag by photo. When a barcode isn't recognized, snap photos of the front and the Guaranteed Analysis label — AI reads the nutrition values directly from the bag. You can also re-scan the label from any AI-estimated result to lock in exact values.
Shared meal templates across pets. Toggle any template "Shared" to use it across all your animals, or duplicate one onto a specific pet. New Library section in the Templates view.
Verified scans now sync across your devices. Once you confirm a barcode result on your iPhone, your iPad gets it instantly via iCloud — and future scans of that UPC hit immediately with no network call.
Crowdsourced food database (opt-in). Help us improve the database by sharing verified scans anonymously, so other users see fewer "Unknown Product" results. Toggle in Settings → Food Database.
