## What is petaru?

Your photos become peel-off stickers,
and in seconds, today is one little collage card.
No scissors, no glue, no design skills needed.

■ petaru is a collage diary

"Stick what you loved today."
A convenience-store dessert, the sky after school, your fave's merch,
food from a trip. The everyday photos sleeping in your camera roll
become little works you'll want to share.

■ One tap, five seconds

1. Tap "Make today's card"
→ petaru gathers the photos you took today
2. Subjects are cut out into stickers automatically
and laid out into a card that just looks right
3. Not feeling it? Tap "Shuffle" —
or peel a sticker off with your finger and stick it wherever you like

■ Satisfying, like real craft

- Stickers are die-cut style with white borders. Press and hold to peel
- Washi tape, handwritten-style words, layer it all up
- Everything can be undone, so play freely

■ Your days pile up

- One card a day, collected on a calendar
- Keep going for a month and make a "look-back film" where your cards
drift into a starry night sky (the more cards, the deeper the night…!)
- Line up favorites on collection sheets — your own sticker book

■ Sharing looks good too

- Export for Stories (9:16) and for your feed
- Or share the "finished film" of your card coming together, sticker by sticker

--
All cutouts happen on your device. Your photos are never sent anywhere.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9 — 2026-08-18

■ Pick your photos first
- On an empty day, a tray of that day's photos now appears. Tap to leave out the ones you don't want — the note-to-self shots, the paperwork — then press the button
- Long-press a photo on the tray to make it the Background: laid softly out of focus across the whole card, with the day's stickers on top

■ New papers
- Himekuri — a page from a daily calendar, with the day's date printed on it
- Paw prints, Receipt, and Stamps — for days about pets, food, and travel

■ Color moods for deco and lettering
- Color moods used to be for photos only. Now deco and lettering take them too
- Two new ones: Blur Light and Blur Strong — soften the photo you laid down as a background, or let a sticker settle quietly behind the rest
- Halftone has been reprinted: the dots are half the size now, for a gentler look

■ A third sticker edge: Borderless
- After Smooth and Jagged — no white ring, just the cut-out shape itself

■ "Normal" arrangement, rethought
- It now leaves room to breathe and plays with size, instead of filling the card edge to edge. The old fill-it-up arrangement lives on as "Wild" (Settings → Arrangement)

■ Small improvements
- Layers now has a row for the Thread, so you can move it up and down like any other sticker
- Edits to lettering stay when you close the sheet
- Swipe sideways on the photo tray to flip to another day
- Fixed a case where a color mood could be applied twice to the same sticker

### 1.8 — 2026-08-15

■ New finishes: Stamp and Round sticker
- "Recut" now offers a stamp with a perforated edge, and a round sticker with a white ring — five finishes in all
- Where to crop is decided by looking at the photo on your device — nothing is sent anywhere

■ Letter papers
- Two new papers: Letter and Airmail. Pair them with a stamp and a postmark date, and the card becomes a little piece of mail

■ Lettering, every which way
- New pattern "Plain" — ink written straight onto the paper, with an optional highlighter stroke that lands slightly off, the way a real one does
- Four new fonts: Bubbly, Ballpoint, Chunky, and Apricot

■ Motion gets a direction
- Choose Up, Right, Down, or Left. Give the new Arrow deco a Hop in its own direction, and it stretches like it's pointing the way

■ Small improvements
- "Save" in the sticker menu exports a single sticker as an image
- Rotating a sticker now clicks softly into place at straight angles (washi tape at 45° too)
- The recut frame clicks when it lands exactly on a square or other true shape
- The Pencil font has been redrawn with a thin, carefree hand

### 1.7 — 2026-08-13

■ Make a card by hand
- On a day with no card yet, you can now start from a blank card and place photos one at a time, at your own pace
- Swipe the buttons sideways to switch to the Photo, Text, and Deco tools
- Tap "AUTO" above the buttons to go back to making cards automatically, any time

■ Small improvements
- Settings "When making a card" is now split in two: how photos are finished, and what gets decorated

### 1.6 — 2026-08-10

■ Tune the motion
- Motions can now be tuned: Speed (Slow / Normal / Quick) and Movement (Subtle / Normal / Bold)

■ New share: Motion loop
- A card with motion can become a seamlessly looping video — the finished card itself, moving on and on

■ Choose how cards are made
- New in Settings: Cutouts (When possible / Automatic / Never), polaroid styling, and Arrangement (Neat / Normal / Wild). For the straight-rows people and the keep-it-whole people alike

■ Evening reminder
- An optional quiet nudge in the evening, so today's photos become today's card. It stays silent on days you've made one — and brings along cards from a week or a month ago (everything can be turned off in Settings)

■ Small improvements
- After your first card, petaru now shows what it decorated for you
- The selection frame is easier to see, with a dotted cut line
- The long-press hint now appears right by your finger
- Fixed an issue where a card with a duplicated, taped sticker couldn't be made into a video

### 1.5 — 2026-08-09

■ New: Motion
- Stickers can now move — hop, sway, float… 14 motions in all
- When a card is made, the day's leads start moving, each in a way that fits what they are (you can turn this off in Settings)
- Export a video and it keeps the moment the magic lands — a sparkle, then everything wakes up

■ Small improvements
- The route thread now traces itself on the card, not just in videos
- Days with only two or three photos no longer come out crowded
- Date labels can slide out past a sticker's edge
