It’s like two per hour. I would have loved to apply but have decided to go with another platform. I don’t see how a legitimate app and service would borderline harass its users like that ### 1/5 — Awful app! Scam! *2026-06-23, version 2.2.7* Don’t waste your money on a background check. The only reason I joined PetMe is because they gave me a free invite to join (probably because they knew I wasn’t going to pay for the background check) and I wanted to see just how bad it really was since I saw people on Reddit saying so many bad things about this app. I tried emailing their support email for help and they ghosted me. I can’t say I’m surprised though given what a scam this app is. I can see why their subreddit (r/PetMePetSitting) got mass reported and banned. They use shills and astroturfing to trick you into thinking this is a good app. PetMe is genuinely the worst pet caregiver app I’ve ever seen and I’m on multiple pet caregiver apps. Instead of wasting your money on this app, join a legitimate pet caregiver app like Rover and/or Wag! instead. Neither of these apps are perfect, of course, and they do have their flaws, BUT at least you won’t be getting scammed like you would by wasting your money on a background check on PetMe. Edit: Just when I thought this app couldn’t get any worse they sent me an email on 6/23/2026 saying that I had to pay a $299 “penalty fee” aka ransom because I “left booking requests unanswered”. This is completely false, I didn’t receive any booking requests nor did I receive any notifications from PetMe. This app is a scam! ### 1/5 — no customers *2026-06-22* it’s not popular enough to get customers and i live in a big city too. rover you pay the fee and make your money back quickly and i think it’s insane of them to charge 50 dollars when it’s basically just for the pet social media aspect of it and a lot of the reviews are by people who are part of that weird group they have to promote it. i was going to get rover and then saw a comment recommending this pretending it was safer with more customers and its not true. you could at least make the background check cheaper until you’re more established do not go on here if you’re low on money and need to make some because you will waste 50 dollars you can’t make bad i wish i would ahve spent it on rover because i don’t ahve the money now **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your feedback. This app is completely dead, really hard to get any interaction and I should be receiving clients since there isn’t many other sitters in my area too close to me. Wasted my money to get my background checked through this app. Pretty much paid the app $50 bucks for nothing. Every 5 minutes they knock down my profile and it stays like that until they feel like I can enter again. ### 1/5 — Not An App For Sitters /Dog Walkers / Asks for Membership $$$ *2026-01-10, version 2.0.0* After seeing this app advertised on Reddit I thought I’d give it a try. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!! It won’t let me “search” or “discover” or “review” what I’m getting myself into before setting up a profile. It also asks for a yearly subscription of $49.99 or a monthly subscription of $4.99. I’m here to make money not help you the developer make money!! I’m taking my profile down. I wanted to see if my city is even in the service area before paying for the background check, and I can’t even do that. They also send A TON of notifications, like 1 every hour **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. As explained during the application process, our service is available in the whole of the US - you cannot apply to be a pet sitter from a country or city where Petme is unavailable. Apparently this app will make fake profiles like this to try to make it seem like people are using it.
